Honestly not being a "hater" here but didn't they make a commitment to buyers that they weren't doing any racing until cars were being delivered?
I suppose if EPA and CARB are the only remaining hurdles, there's nothing more they can do in the interim. Might as well race.

It will be interesting to see how they do.

We’re way past anything they said as far as racing vs delivering cars. Hope the best for his team on getting these things in the Publics hands so the real testing can begin.

We’re way past anything they said as far as racing vs delivering cars. Hope the best for his team on getting these things in the Publics hands so the real testing can begin.

Hopefully they don’t cut the course like they did in Havasu. After they were DQ’d, they tried to blame everyone else expect for themselves for driving an out of bounds line.

would love to see them race the Speed car, I think it has potential. Most likely they will not race it. If something goes wrong, it will only add fuel to the fire.

I don’t think this has been done but it would be cool to do some type of performance comparison between a top of the line production can am, RZR and a production speed car. Not the prototype but an actual production car. Kinda like what magazines and web sites would do with sports cars etc.

There is allot of claim that the speeds cars will be far superior. But no proof yet. Just specs of cars and videos.

I know people will say there is no production cars yet but I’m sure RG could get his hands on one to show the proof in the pudding.

Get all three in the dirt at the same time and start comparing them.

Ya know . . . when the Speed cars become available, I would think that RDP could put a shootout together. You know that there will be guys who have the latest and greatest from every other mfg. when the Speed cars start getting released in Havasu. Put 'em all on a scale, under a radar gun, up a hill, through 1000 ft. of whoops, on a short course somewhere. Start planning the shootout now, and as long as you can find some unmodified inmate cars, I would think RDP could one of the first media outlets to do it.

I would think that building the prototype and in field testing while hard and expensive would be easy compared to production. This is not a knock on speed or Robby . I just thinking the real work and problem solving is just starting. What do you all think.

I agree, but I would think that the fact that Hisun is building them would take considerable pressure off of RG. After the engineering and testing was finished, Hisun can probably take over most of those "hassles". I'm sure there are a zillion little things to take care of, but compared to a situation where RG WOULD OF had to set up a factory, buy all the robotic equipment, etc., hire 300 people, organize all of that, his situation is probably much easier.

I've clicked into these Speed threads maybe a handfull of times in the couple years and I'd agree 100%.......I punch myself for even trying. 100% zero interest in reading any of the bullshit or make any real attempt to find something useful or accurate.

Exactly; sophisticated manufacturers have both product and production engineering departments.
AND .... quality departments.
IMO: maintaining quality is going to be RG's biggest challenge for the first couple of years.

I was there when the blue production car fired up, and I saw video of the skittles car starting up as well.
I should've taken a picture of the tag on the car, but it pretty much stated that it was a model that could get ran even without EPA approval.
The production ones that you speak of were running around Parker AZ this past week.
