Kinda like the respect he shows fellow racers?

"During the 2005 running of the Sylvania 300, Gordon was involved in a wreck with Michael Waltrip, the driver of the No. 15 NAPA Chevrolet. The angered Gordon got out of his totaled car and threw his helmet at the No. 15 car as it was passing by. Tony Stewart's No. 20 missed the helmet just seconds after it hit Waltrip's car. When TNT interviewed him about the crash, he stated "You know Michael, everybody thinks Michael's a good guy. He's not the good guy like he actually is. The caution was out and he wrecked me and he's a piece of shit." TNT apologized for his language, and Gordon apologized after the race, but Gordon was fined $50,000 and docked 50 drivers points"
....2, 3, 4, 5 wait for it🍊
As you have,i posted my opinion.
I couldn't possibly care any less about nascar, or what RG did there, but I felt there was probably more to this story so I did some research. And of course, there's more to it..

Article below, here's the cliff notes:

1. During the September 18th running of the Sylvania 300, Waltrip ran into the back of Gordon coming off turn two.

The hard contact sent Gordon head on into the backstretch wall. As Waltrip drove by the following lap under caution, Gordon attempted to back his car into Waltrip's but ended up missing. (Helmet throw occurs next lap)

2. A year later at the same track the two knocked doors coming off turn four after Waltrip got loose and bounced off of Gordon.

During a caution period with just three laps remaining, Waltrip ran into the back of Gordon in the same way and same place on the track as the year before. From Waltrip's on-board it would appear that Gordon just stopped or brake checked in front of him and Waltrip just kept going.

3. ...early this year the two spiced things up at Phoenix. Waltrip once again got loose and when trying to save his car, he slid up and put Gordon into the wall.

Sounds to me like Mr Waltrip has a bad habit of running into other racers, should that be without consequence?

Nice gesture to text pics of you car being built.
I got those weekly when my boat was being built from the owner.

So, we are up to car 31 being built and in a warehouse somewhere in the world. That is progress, but until CARB certs are issued, I don’t think any owner will see a car.

Looking back at the SSSS pics, car 23 was at SSSS.
So if we are at 31 now, that progress / build rate is terrible.

Holy shit, just went back and looked at SSSS pics. Kinda funny to be touting cars coming off the production line when that one has been “done” for months now… seems off to me

Don't question the speed and efficiency with which this entire ordeal is moving......someone will put his turkey and stuffing down and serve you with a response filled with firsthand knowledge. 🤣

I thought about that as well but we’d be assuming the 31 car is the latest to come off the line. We don’t know why they took that pic or when they took it. It could’ve just been a good pic and they decided to use it instead of a pic of car 35 or 40, I dunno.

Again, why so much mystery? How is it possible nobody knows where these pictures are taken? They look completed. Is it 3 weeks to transport or 3 days from where ever that warehouse is?
Since that car was at ssss show I'm assuming it's on the west coast currently.

So many holes in this business.
CARB, is it done or not?

My Gordon, how many cars are assembled?
Where are they?

I don't understand why this is not clear

And....no I'm not a buyer. I considered it.
Way to many shenanigans

Lol. No dog in this fight just some sarcasm. But are you even sure it was car 23. Or maybe it was 2 or 3 and they weren’t even sure so they just called it 23. 🙄🙄😂😱😜

That said. I always rooted for RG in NASCAR. A single car /owner. Underdog. Just wanted him to always do well.

That’s only because people chose to make it that way 😂.

It’s plain to see who is just having fun and who hopes we all get screwed, which is why the comment was made in the first place.

It’s a dirt toy.. let it go.

You’re truly delusional if you think you’re touting Speed and hating on members you call haters hasn’t made this thread all about you. Without you this thread would be exactly how you say you wish it would be

Honestly speeds biggest problem is they have been to transparent. They showed behind the iron door and opened up all these questions..

I couldn’t tell you anything about any of Polaris’s or can am, or Honda or Yamaha models before they are just released..

If they have problems after the release they issue fixes or stop rides.

Speed has shown pretty much everything from the start to where it’s at now. Every time there is a delay or every time they have a problem everybody throws their hands up and says “this is the end” or “Ponzi scheme” etc..

It’s kind of weird I have experienced a little of this action.. I put up some t shirt designs before hand and you get a variety of opinions. We end up manufacturing a few and some people will say “well I woulda bought it but I like xyz better when this color was abc”.

If ya just released the shirt they woulda just bought it.

I don’t expect LOF is helping the argument cause in this thread… but being realistic this same subject is happening on a variety of forums and fb / IG groups with similar responses.

And this is all about the hand built first 100 cars, right?

No sign of any higher numbers being built?

I wonder if numbering the speed cars will end up being an issue (good or bad) for early owners. Not saying it will or won’t just wondering out loud

I think the difference in this situation is 2 things.
Inexperienced people starting a high risk company and I the think most contributing factor might be that they crowd sourced the start up funds which kind of opens their Komodo for all to see from the inception.

I posted pics of at least one car that hasn’t been seen yet. A customer saw it on speeds IG and said holy shit that is my car. That has happened twice now.

Outside of that we don’t really KNOW anything.. you got a bunch of theories online put forth by people that also don’t KNOW anything.

We don’t KNOW that they are being hand assembled. We don’t KNOW that they don’t have 300 cars sitting on a boat somewhere.. we don’t KNOW anything..

Which is why it’s so bizarre to watch a 100 page thread if people arguing things as facts when at best they are theories..

Agreed.
Speed is now in a tough situation.
I hate to be a asshole, but to me, a non buyer, it just looks like a bunch of bullshit.
I like the car. No doubt it will be great riding. The business scared me away.
I'm not alone.
This will have a impact on resale and possibly new sales.

This thing needs to be a homerun and 'game changer' once it hits the hands of the first 1000 buyers. To get guys like me back on board is going to be tough.
I dont trust the business. So the car needs to be amazing.

Nice! Maybe I should drive down there and snap some pics..

Was it a lot of them or the usual three or so that have been touring?
10 minutes ago they had the roll-up open and they had a vehicle trailer full of Speed cars backed into it.

I remember reading somewhere that legally they aren’t allowed to touch the deposit money and it was all held in escrow until some milestone?

That said I’m not sure if that would apply to accessories and in the case if most of them the money for the accessories is 4-10x the deposit on the car..

That all said we don’t even know if it was crowd funded or privately.

LOF has done a great job of injecting his opinions as facts but the reality of it is he doesn’t know anything that they (speed only) has put out from their shows or on social media.

Difference between what can be done is based on type of deposit.
Refundable deposits CAN NOT be touched. Non-refundable deposits can be used as needed.
Accessory money should be used to purchase accessories for your car, since those had to be ordered from the various accessory manufacturers and be ready for install as car is being manufactured.

****Alert ****

I saw sign of life yesterday at Hastings Building!

Speed Truck and Trailer, back packs, Shoes, Shirts, sun visors, die cast model speed cars, lots of Speed drinks, free Pens and a few naked lady Speed Golf tees!

I was on the 95 and didn’t get a good look to see what was going on …..

a black Speed Van drove past my house the other day…..

I was hanging up Christmas lights in the Frt yard…..

ok that last part isn’t true! I confess I stretched the truth a little bit!

I was on the roof of my house w/ binoculars looking for Speed vans ! When it magically drove past ….

now on to some Turkey….

Happy Thanksgiving

So they are unloading a couple of speeds and one of their textrons..

We did learn something new today that you won’t see anywhere else.

It has been said that the number on the side of the car is the unit produced.. they had a description of preproduction etc..

Well I present to you two cars with the same number 3!

One was in the building on stands the other was on the trailer at the same time. So ya know what we know now? Even less than before.. lol

We know there are multiple cars with the same numbers..

Hearsay alert-

So a friend of a friend is supposedly taking delivery of a finished car, I’m guessing one of those finished ones pictured.

I’ll let the group know if I can confirm anything concrete.

Nothing at the Hastings building is being delivered. Biggest surprise there was there was two cars with the same number 3 and “preproduction” on the number plates.

Unless they have a batch coming in on a different hauler etc.. what I could see is in the pics

No Dan, without you it would be. 🤣

You’ve provided 0 actual info and answered 0 questions. Show me something, anything you’ve ever provided that is positive or fact based that you have provided to anyone on the topic. That is the difference. That is what makes you what you are.

If you don’t want it about me, stop responding to me, stop referencing me.

You and the others can make me irrelevant to the conversation by not engaging or ignoring me. You choose not to or are incapable of doing so.

Make better choices if you want better outcomes.

You want this thread better? Let it go. You are not providing anything of value. It is a UTV you dont know anything about from a company that will go out of business any day now, right?

If you are so confident in the outcome, sit back, relax and let us all get ripped off.

Agreed. Again this is completely 3rd party at this point. The source is our good friends that are spending the weekend with us. They have a friend in their circle that bought a low numbered car. Our friends and the actual person with a car have done Glamis with RG @ Thanksgiving for many years.

I’m just passing along some info, no idea if it is accurate.

That shouldn't be an issue as apparently the graphics peel themselves off in short order.

No, when you take non-refundable deposits and make buyers pre-pay for all accessories and then fall a year and a half behind the projected schedule, (for whatever reason) you end up having no choice but to disclose information.
They've fallen short on that goal also.

It’s a completely different car than what he originally started to build. Then He decided to make his own power plant instead of using something that already existed. Then he decided to add a three speed sequential transmission instead of just a normal high low.

He was pretty transparent in each of these steps that it’s a whole different program and far superior to what he started with.

Honestly I am surprised they are at the point that they are at already. Any of those changes are monumental undertakings.

They are in the final Stages and the major hurdles have already been accomplished (in my opinion). Now they for sure have more hurdles, but dialing in a production line is far easier than creating an engine from scratch.

Especially when they have 100 test cars driving around testing before they start mass production.
