She is off continual O2 as of today’s follow-up visit. On an inhaler every 6 hours. If her O2 numbers drop below 90, then on for 15 minutes. Dr wants her on it when sleeping tonight, since we are still at elevation. Once we get down to Denver and then home, no more O2.

Added another antibiotic (Azithromycin), since she spiked a fever last night and that was after 48hrs of being on Amoxicillin. Dr wants her to finish both rounds.

working on trying to get follow-up with her primary once we get back to SD.

All in all, heading in the right direction.
She tested negative for Covid, Flu A/B and RSV On Sunday, Monday and Today.
Excellent.

How is your daughter feeling
Thanks for asking. She is Getting better.
Tuesday she was removed from O2, but Dr wanted her on it while sleeping. She also started another RX, that seemed to help more. Wednesday, drove down to Denver O2 @ 92. Got home to San Diego and she is back in the upper 90’s.
Has another follow-up Monday with her primary Dr. Yesterday she got the all clear to practice volleyball and was given the go ahead to play this weekend in her tournament.

She still has a nasty cough that comes and goes.
All in all heading in the right direction.

Hope is gets through the house, without getting you and your better half :)
It just keeps making the rounds. One gets better the other gets sick. It’s been on going since the Friday before Christmas 😞 I’m exhausted

Masks are funny things. Very divisive. If the question is whether a local/state/local government should be able to force people to wear masks or in what circumstances should they be able to force it, that's a legitimate question.

If the question is whether they work though, I have a tough time believing there are people who really think that. If you really believe they don't work, then next time you go in for a surgery, tell the surgeon to leave their masks at the door. I haven't met a single person who will go that far.

Wife and I have had the flu for the past week. I woke up at 0400 soaked in sweat and feel better today. It's been a while since I had the flu, but this was much worse than Covid. Stabbing headache for three days was brutal.

Well, this shit is driving me crazy.
Daughter is at follow-up appt with her pediatrician. Dr says lungs still sound ‘crummy’.
- Albuterol treatment in office
- Liquid steroid given in office
- new chest x-ray ordered

results of x-ray will determine next steps.
Could be more antibiotics, additional steroids or admission to hospital.

The crap hit hard up north. Nasty irritating stuff. Two weeks in and finally feel human. Still coughing. Now the wife started in. Half of the shop has been sick. The not being able to sleep is the worst part of it. Wake up in the middle of the night trying to catch your breath sucks. Even though it is not Covid, I thought about my three friends who died from it. Dam, what a suck azz way to go. Feeling better and can see a Rum and Coke shortly in my future.

I sneak around here an there. ;) nobody knows me anymore
If I remember we share the same birthdate 12/10?

Sorry to hear about everyone being sick.

Last night coming home from dinner I lost my voice. I even tried to yell and my wife could barely hear me. Voice is better this morning, but woke up with a cold. I hope it isn't a 3-4 week deal you guys are going through.

I got something Monday night, but I was in an over packed Torrance memorial emergency room with someone, full waiting room of over 50-75 people, ever hallway filled with people on gurneys, insane! took me down for a day and didn't eat for 2, but not too bad after that.

My daughter is finally better. Has one last checkup Thursday to get the all clear.

But now my wife is down with the same thing. She is one day 4 since she had a fever and started the medicine cocktail Monday.

Down for the 2nd day. Thought I felt like crap yesterday till this morning. It’s been worse today. Unfortunately I still have my appetite, nothing like eating and sitting on the couch.

I lost my voice. Then got crazy lung and nose cheese. Was bad for a week. Took some amoxicillin I had laying around and 4 days later it's 95% better. Should of took it sooner.

Antibiotics only help if you have a bacteria infection, not a virus one like the flu, rsv or covid.

That being said, it appears many doctors are throwing antibiotics at viral issues which won't do a damn thing. Except maybe a placebo effect?

How many of you taking an antibiotic actually have a bacterial infection instead of a viral one?

Weirdest cold I have ever had. Feel ok for 2 hours then feel like shit for a few hours. Left ear keeps plugging up and painful. Really only cough in the morning.

Ask your doctor for these, I was prescribed these 14mos ago for a lingering cough and they definitely helped a lot

I don't understand that either. My in law calls her doctor. Prescribes her antibiotics over the phone. What!!!!!! She has a flu! Now after weeks of this crap, my kids did turn to a sinus infection and antibiotics were given. Cleared right up. So it can turn to one. But generally it's way over prescribed.

You can buy amoxillicin at the local feed store. If your Dr won't prescribe it without a appointment.

Works great for dogs and saves that $500 on the vet visit.

And the hazard of that is developing bacteria immunity to the antibiotic. So when you need it later for an actual bacterial infection and take it, nada. Doctors aren't doing anyone any favors unless it actually is bacterial.

I say the same thing. No argument here. I tell her she needs a new doctor. Should not be able to call and say I need this and that I'm feeling this. No come in, let me examine you and I'll tell you what you need. It's crazy land. "Ask your doctor if this drug is right for you." How about my doctor tells me what's right for me after testing and research.

Yep. I feel bad for doctors. All that money and time in med school only to be told whats wrong by the patient and what drug the patient thinks they should be on and the doctor can't get a word in edgewise. Well you don't need doctors at this point. They should just cutout the middle man and have people go straight to the pharmacist. People can read their own drug interactions card, which you know like everything else the public should read (EULA’s, contracts, etc), they wont.

I don't mind being an educated patient, but if the doctor wants my opinion I just tell them they're the doctor, use that education on me. But don't just throw pills at me because that's what everyone else wants. If I get pushed pills I always bring up the long list of side effects so helpfully advertised on TV and nope, lets do something other than that.

A lot of the drugs advertised on TV are new drugs, which the pharma spent a lot of money on. Best way to recoup the R&D is to have the public pay to be lab rabbits. Advertise to them and voila.

Older, just as good, and less side effects, drugs for me please.

doctors wear masks during surgery to HELP prevent them from spitting, drooling etc. on you not breathing on you. Surgical masks don't do shit to prevent their breath from passing through. That was yet another covid bullshit lie.
