Different take for sure. I can understand not being excited about the player but the feat of hitting 50 HR and 50 stolen bases for the first time is pretty dam exciting for the game of baseball.

Baseball is all about statistics. My dad used to listen to the radio, keep score and keep track of players stats. I don’t think I could keep score and I’ve been watching my whole life. I don’t mean keep score like it’s 3 to 2. This is before you could Google something. When someone sets a record that’s never been accomplished in 120 years, it’s pretty amazing.

Family has had season tickets over the past decades. Wife gets tickets thru her work being a team sponsor and though Talent is spread too thin amongst teams, and players strike out more these days, player skill levels over-all are way way better now.

Wife and her GF's are a big Ohtani fans with high expectations at that pay grade. Funny to listen to them during the game.

He said yes as no player is worth that kind of money. There is something about Ohtani that he as a teenager doesn't connect with. He was that way towards him BEFORE he signed the big contract.

Possible but I think his average is around 1 HR every 10 or 11 at bats so night be a stretch unless he crazy.

No.....he isn't like that at all. He always thought lesser of Trout as well.....said he is overpaid as he is always injured. For some reason it just isn't happening for my grandson and after Vics post it seems his kids are the same way towards him.

The stats and so forth are undeniable though. Othani is an unbelievable talent.

I'm wondering part of it for some is he's a Dodger. I'm a blue fan and have been since I could talk but even with a huge fan base many hate them and now that he's a Dodger I'm guessing some just don't like him?

Vic did have a point about the larger bases and pitch clock, of course that bumps up his stolen base count from what it would have been a few years back. It's still an insane accomplishment.

He is a Giants fan first and foremost but attended a lot of Angels games over the years as I had great season tix. He felt the same way about him while he was on the Angels. Just never bought in to it.....

Ya hes K rate and Batting average are way up, better coaching and not having to pitch he is really showing what he is capable of at the plate and the bases. He for sure is not a flashy as any of the guys mentioned, hes seems like a humble dude, but man when he connects and it happens often is pretty dam entertaining seeing him hit balls in places that shouldn't happen. But for sure everyone has their own options so more power to you guys, their are 30 teams and a ton of guys per team to root for. Glad to see you and you fam involved in the game and making memories. Regardless of how entertaining I think or you don't think any of this is, I know there is one thing that we will 100% agree on, seeing your kid or even a niece or nephew on the diamond is way more entertaining and exciting!

I did see De La Cruz live against the dodgers and he was something else, seeing him turn what looked like a long single into a triple looked unreal.

Ohtani understands and speaks English and Spanish pretty good. He just doesn’t do it in interviews.

Kike is a fucking riot! I was really happy to see his plate performance get a BIG boost after getting the new glasses. He was definitely sub-par prior to that.
