That’s nice.
Super nice. We have the welfare rig compared to some of the units in here. The place just opened, and we booked last month while in Mission Bay. Has a bar/ bistro, heated pool, propane firepits, cabins, lots of extras. Should be even better next year when it’s finished. Supposed to be open year round. Depending on the weather we might try to head up here second week of October for fall break. Lots of trails for side by sides as well- though we left the RZR at home since we’re only here for the weekend to celebrate the Old Lady’s Birthday.

Morro dunes, pretty nice spot if you’re lookin for basic stuff. Called in today looking for a spot to escape the heat. Nice little 1 day get away.

Only negative it looks like Stevie wonder leveled the site lmao. I’m on the end so maybe that’s why?

Ok I’m gonna go ahead and take a shit on this RV park.
Spot is $107 per night all activities are extra.
Tree’s are i desperate need of trimming everywhere. If you get in and out of here without roof damage your lucky.

I don’t know why but there are a shit load of flies. Also spiders everywhere and tons of ants. My legs are covered with big bites after using a whole can of bug spray and a bottle of andro on my sight.
Lack of bathrooms and moderately clean.

My space was large but due to overhanging branches barely fit in it.

Just an fyi

My neighbors probably don't care for this but heck, we're going out for another trip in 2 weeks so why put it away alongside the house. 😲

My big white nightmare.
That's what I call it.

On the rare occasion we use an RV park, pulling in the other campers are watching us like the fat chick boarding a Southwest airlines plane. Everyone seated already is thinking nooooo! not next to me! 🙂

I picked up a new TT in August, after trying a smaller trailer for a couple years. I would have liked to get a 5er, but I didn't want to upgrade my truck also. Its paid for, and I only use it to tow. The opposing slides in the living area make it comfortable inside.

Ocotillo wells. Deep down split mountain road.

Last time the wifey went was about 6 years ago. Now its my 4.5 year old and 1.5 year olds first trip!!! Also my parents with their new to them rig!
So far so good, we cruised out and got a good spot unloaded and let them kids go wild! Definitely makes the trailer remodel and hard work worth it. My dad telling stories from being here in his young years in the 60-70s and stories of my times in the 90-00s. Great times so far! Now for bike training tomorrow.

Glad to see it hasn't changed! I used to stay there with my parents MANY moons ago! This is one of the places my wife and I plan to go next year. I'm already looking forward to it! 👍

Apparently there is new owners. We’ve been going there for 6 or 7 years (it’s only about 20 minutes from my house), nothing seems to have changed. It’s a fun close getaway. Catalina spa and RV is down around the corner where I store the trailer. We go there quite a bit as well.

@CLdrinker i have questions about your old set up if i may. I have a 3016. It's the ragen and was made by genesis after they bought them out.

How did it tow? I'm getting the hitch dialed in and I think it's making a difference. But it was not very straight the first time.

My second question is, have you used it at the river and how did the 2 ac hold up to the heat?

Other than that I love it so far. I went up 1 hole on the shank it really made a difference. I think I need to go up one on the bars and the weight will be over the axels evenly. I have bags to help finish dialing it in.

Edit to add that in this photo i had gone up one more on the shank. I have since gone back down 1. Which is 1 up from the original. That was my original measurement and it seems to be happiest there.

Oh man… You have the Genesis built 3016. I had the Stealth 3016 made by Forest River. Unfortunately your trailer is known to tow like shit.
Before I bought my Stealth I was dead set on buying the trailer you have. So I did my research and even a few dealers said they toy like shit.

Here is the reason. Look at the picture you provided axles are damn near in the middle of the trailer. And your cargo area don’t go much in front of the axles.

On my trailer my tongue weight was 1800lbs empty. I used a 12k equalizer and it towed like a dream.

Look at my picture. There is a lot more trailer in front of the axles. It also had 1 slide above the axles and another all the way in the front.

My advice is use a quality load distribution/sway control. And experiment with different tongue weights.

Thank god you have a long bed as they will help fight the sway forces.
