So he or somebody drilled holes in the pipe, is the end capped or have a baffle stuck in it ? Very cool bikes !! Brit bikes --- cardboard, check 😁
The end is capped. The straight pipe with the holes served as the baffle. It was a design for Matchless back then to make them sound mellow. The megaphone mufflers had them for the G9's and G12's. They have the magneto and dynamo system, My 1958 G80s has the coil and points ignition system for the first time for Matchless.

The single 500 G80S has a straight pipe without holes goes into the offset inlet of the muffler.

100' long pool at basement level, 10,000 s/f basement with concrete deck and 40' long pool at 1st floor level with glass side wall.

That's awesome! We did a 2 story pool in Florida, but everything was grouted pyles driven into bedrock. We had to use seismic monitors on the neighbors homes to make sure there was no damage from the pyles being driven.

Different parts of the US do things differently. We're currently building drill shafts right now for a widening project in Vegas. We'll be starting some big boys on Monday.

Anyhow I love this kind of work!

Going to knock this table off from IG for my boss this weekend. It is an oscilloscope of his family’s last name.

About 18 months ago we decided to buy a small tractor. Found this Bolens G154 made by Iseki. They are rebranded at that time in the late 80s to Ford Massey JD and others. Six gears, four wheel drive. I’ve put a water pump, voltage regulator, battery, changed out any hoses showing wear and normal maintenance. Been a good rig so far.

Also scored a nice Doug Thorley header for the Samurai for $30. Hung that on this afternoon. Old exhaust was junk. Going to work on the rest of the exhaust tomorrow.

Tore down my RF85 Van Diemen, Tilton racing clutch bit the dust, splines gone too. The Crossle we're selling is so much easier and faster to work on than this The Van Diemen. It has the dry sump member between the engine and Hewland gearbox so much more involved to replace the clutch.

Since it's too wet to go outside and many of us are trapped indoors, I figured I'd bump this thread.

I'm building cabinets for our remodel and have a few finished up and installed. I just finished putting on the final coat of wax on the inside of this bathroom vanity cabinet. 3/4" cabinet grade ply with maple face frames. I think it turned out halfway decent! 🤣

Making a black walnut bowl for my brother. Kind of a divorce present. He has black walnut stuff in his kitchen. Had to buy a blank.

Now I need to sand it. Start at 40 grit and finish at 400 grit.

Do you sell these once you're done
Not really but this one I'll sell. Bought it to repower with a newer gas engine but 2 months after buying it I found and bought a ready to rip Meco 35, so I finally got a full size saw and put this frame in the corner and am ready to move it.

There's a 3cyl Kubota listed on CL in Wilhoit(?). Saw it, and your saw was my first thought.
I seen that one but it's non turbo. I'm still on the lookout for a healthier turbo engine while I test the cooling system. It overheats in the summer so I need to shoehorn a bigger radiator into the frame.

I have a Pismo trip coming in a few weeks. Noticed something on my driveway under my truck. Not quite a puddle. But a circular spot that was semi oily/greasy. Look under and there is fluid coming down the valley down the oil pan and bell housing. To me it looks like diesel.

I've had a downpipe and up pipe and some hoses and plates siting in my garage. Knowing what a job it is. I've kind of let it be. Well, now is the time. I can't see in the valley with egr in the way. So, out it goes just so I can see.

Every part of this job sucks. There is no easy part to the job. Everyone cries about the down pipe. It wasnt that bad. Trick there is a big ass pry bar. You do NOT need to unbolt the heat shield like every video out there says. Trust me. Get the sensors out, v band off. Go to the side wheel well and stick at least a 22 inch pry bar up there and it will pop right off the turbo and then you keep prying back as you wiggle it down and out. This keeps the heat shield from getting stuck on the other heat shield.

The up pipe turbo bolts are all that remain at this time. Well, 2. I got 1. So we are almost there.

I did however have to take a break and go to a friend's and help him get his back up car ready. I will be driving that one in Pismo. Nice friend I know. Last time his brother broke the axel and brake caliper and a few other things. So, I went over to fix it. Since I'll be using it. Yes, his brother probably should have done the work. At least he bought the parts! Ha!

One thing I'll say. I used to enjoy this stuff a lot more. Now I always feel rushed, I have a million other things to do. A wife and kids that want, and deserve, attention. It's just not as fun as it used to be turning wrenches. The most fun I've had working on anything in the last 5 years was Friday night with my daughter. She was really into it. When we got that down pipe out. I think the entire neighborhood heard us celebrate. She was in the engine bay with a flashlight asking what everything was, and what it did. She also asked why somethings wouldn't be going back in. I explained weight reduction and overbearing government to her. She turned a few wrenches and grabbed a lot for me. That was the most fun I've had turning wrenches in a long time.

In true girl fashion, she left me for a princess make over birthday party. Have really been able to get her Re-engaged since. She doesn't, "want to get dirty today." I told her, in a few years we would let her little brother do all the hard work while we supervised. We both had a good laugh.

I can't even get good leverage on it. Luckily I love close to a really nice and talented guy named @ChrisV so he's on his way over to help me out.
I've had to do anything from impact swivels on extensions, to using short box wrenches and hitting them with a prybar and hammer...modern stuff sucks!
(They do run good though ;) )
