Carburator tweaking pissed me off... change the jets, and then spend 3 days getting the feed fittings to stop leaking! No more!

Holley sniper and controllable distributor installed, new higher psi fuel pump installed (luckily already had -8 feed and -6 return plumbed). Welded an o2 bung in, and now its time to play with the laptop! It is running, sounds solid, and cruises nicely. Fans are now ecu controlled as well.

ignore the ugly underhood wiring, it is gettting cleaned up too. Still have to mount the ignition box under the dash, and seal up the firewall penetration.

So my guess of "material on hand" was correct?

Also, if you look close (probably hard to tell in the pics) you'll see the drain vent is pretty much preventing the PEX from coming through any lower than it is. There is much more clearance up at the top.

You won't even notice the loop once the new drywall goes into place. 😜

I thought I saw that, but wasn’t sure if it was actually that way.

Soon to be working on this. Got it for decent price. Gotta blast all the ugly off and see what it needs. Still building the other one, just takes about a month to engineer each custom part...

Got it, could be fun. I’ve been wanting to meet up with more Vw people, not many where I live. I’m most likely going to be leaving the bug in havasu.

As others have said do I really need another project? Pick this up last week. Guy got it at an estate sale and changed his mind so here I am to help him out. Fired it on starting fluid the next day. Drove to Prescott in this weather.

Sweet! Looks pretty clean. Are you going to keep it, and how many miles?
I picked this up a few years ago, it's in great condition. Also a 1984

Don't know if I will keep it or not. I was really looking for an early 70's Honda 750. There are more Honda but the price is higher and there is more parts available for them. I will get this running and figure out what to do after that. I wouldn't mind one of those either.

Finally got the new fence backup after our addition some 2 years ago to isolate the back yard...not sure what took so long to get this done other than finding the time to do it. Vinyl and extruded aluminum components from Lowe's. Had to fabricate the two 6' gates from their material as I wanted drive in access to the back yard or open for family events. I think it came out decent...

Very impressive!!

I’m putting my plans on the LT4 & 10 speed on a temp hold until I’m ready to pay for the new Art Morrison chassis. I just picked up a 69 SS 396 Camaro for less than the chassis would have cost me.

So now I’ve got to pull the 383 out of my K5 & do a rattle can rebuild and re seal the timing cover & oil pan so I can drive it.

I’ve toiled over putting some AFR’s on it but I think I’ve decided to leave good enough alone.

I’m also working on a NV4500/np205 to make it a better driver while I wait…

Always something.

With the BEAUTIFUL weather we had today in SoCal, I couldn't help but be outside getting sunburned. ❤️ Awhile ago, I picked up some King coilover shocks from a buddy of mine, who got them from his friend. I figured today, I'll just pull the mounting brackets off the tops since I don't need those for my project. I took a few pictures and thought I'd post them up for someone else to enjoy. How hard could it be to remove a few nuts and bolts...... 🤣

An hour later.

PXL_20250219_010929817.jpg

I had to use a 4' pipe over an Allen wrench and a giant crescent wrench to get these bolts out. The brackets AND these bolts were bent from some serious use!! What a complete pain in the ass!! 🤣

These brackets are supposed to be flat.....

The plan was to share these with someone else, but the bolts won't easily slide back into the far side of the bracket now that I got them out. These will end up in trash.

I'd say they're bent. 🤣 Good times!!

I never got a good picture of the other side but it was filthy and all the slurry was just stuck to it. It was a brown color for some reason. After some work it's almost ready to rip. Peeled off the stickers and wet sanded it. Its powder coated. Replaced pillow block bearings, ball bearings in the sheave, power washed about 20 lbs. of crud off it, new drive and throttle cables, new tach, full service, few heli coils, un siezed parts. Need to weld a new blade guard mount on it and add 2nd ones like later models and install new fuel lines. Once it starts making money I'll install new wheels and convert it to standard controls to match my other ones.

Toy Haulers Pop-Out emergency escape window blew off on the road and no trips until I replace it.
Have to buy the complete frame then part-out the window I need.

May miss the Truck Haven Safari this weekend.
Oh well, have had far worse issues.

What size is the window? I have one I took out I need to send to a new user.

Mine is the older one piece daul pane
Thank you for the consideration.
Does the replacement press-in / pop-in with set screws?
Never attacked something like this before.

Press on with some kind of buytl tape with a ring on the inside to hold it in.

Thanks. It's so overly simple with no serious fasteners I can see why it fell or blew out out on the road.
Evidently now becoming a common problem.

One of those windows flying off and hitting a motorcyclist would be a serious occurrence.

Our home with the wife on her meds:

cartoon-cuckoo-clock.gif

Wife quits her meds today.
Helped her remove the last of her stitches with tweezers and fine point scissors.

Her boobs look fantastic, come to attention as she likes.

Stressful past few days locating the proper replacement glass for the Toy Hauler bedroom "egress" window.

Had to buy the complete unit. Frame and all.
Can remove just the parts I need to save removing /replacing the entire unit.

The emergency window goes in from the top, upside down then it swings down and locks in place.
Can't figure that out looking at it, who da thunk that, but that's how it works.

Expensive and took days to find it and get it ordered.
