Thanks, yes if I bought something cold turkey it'd be a 66 fairlane or an SS elcamino or 65 Malibu or something along those lines but this had been in the family forever and had memories so I've been chipping away at it. 65' is a one year Unibody car so they don't get much love ! It was a 289 C code / column shift that he punched out and added hi-po exhaust manifolds (yes I still have them along w the motor lol) , the toploader (which was out of either a galaxie or a mustang I believe) and new gearing. It rolled like that for many years with some dish mags on radial TA's when I was little, and I drove/stabbin cabin'd it like that off and on in high school between my own pos trucks and stuff. He passed away, left it to me ... and I stripped it , found a 351 that we bored and did with Keith Black pistons, Dart Heads, SCAT Crank, SCAT rods, Erson Cam, Hyd roller lifters, AED carb, coated headers . We Cut and braced the shock towers, new springs, Narrowed a 9" and did 3.73 so not for the strip but it holds well w the ladder bars from Crites and if geared it could do alright for what it is. I took off the power steering, did disc brakes (no power), insulation, interior from Dearborn Classics, and got all new wiring. I wanted to keep it old school as much as possible --Well that's different! Not many '65's get that kinda of love! :thumbsup:thumbsup Gotta love the 4 speed! Is it factory? What's in the motor? Have you ran it down the Qtr mile? I like a nice factory interior. Very cool car!
