Well that's different! Not many '65's get that kinda of love! :thumbsup:thumbsup Gotta love the 4 speed! Is it factory? What's in the motor? Have you ran it down the Qtr mile? I like a nice factory interior. Very cool car!
Thanks, yes if I bought something cold turkey it'd be a 66 fairlane or an SS elcamino or 65 Malibu or something along those lines but this had been in the family forever and had memories so I've been chipping away at it. 65' is a one year Unibody car so they don't get much love ! It was a 289 C code / column shift that he punched out and added hi-po exhaust manifolds (yes I still have them along w the motor lol) , the toploader (which was out of either a galaxie or a mustang I believe) and new gearing. It rolled like that for many years with some dish mags on radial TA's when I was little, and I drove/stabbin cabin'd it like that off and on in high school between my own pos trucks and stuff. He passed away, left it to me ... and I stripped it , found a 351 that we bored and did with Keith Black pistons, Dart Heads, SCAT Crank, SCAT rods, Erson Cam, Hyd roller lifters, AED carb, coated headers . We Cut and braced the shock towers, new springs, Narrowed a 9" and did 3.73 so not for the strip but it holds well w the ladder bars from Crites and if geared it could do alright for what it is. I took off the power steering, did disc brakes (no power), insulation, interior from Dearborn Classics, and got all new wiring. I wanted to keep it old school as much as possible --

Ok. I want that black 32 Mike, slow the fuck down cowboy. Ur going to get blisters on ur fingers. Lol[emoji4] [emoji202]

It's plastic, but well built. That guy will probably replace it with something else in a year or two if you really want it. Lots of these are for sale, it's about a 50/50 mix of shop owned stuff vs customer car. My pop in law wants to sell the red 31, but I'm trying to talk him out of it.

I think I'm almost done, this is just a sampling of stuff that I like and take pics of.

One of my all time faves. Read about the original back in the day and it's one of those cars that stuck with me. Richard told me all sorts of stories about P.Wood and the original car. Kind of weird that we are building a clone (with a twist) of his deuce phaeton that was on the cover of R&C way back when.

You can tell the rum is kicking in when I double post yellow f100's.

The weight of that 31 Lincoln above, tweaked the 12 bolt this much

This 32 is the clone of Richard's phaeton. Just a slight difference from the original. It's using the original frame from my fordor.

Plastic, well. Hard to find original steel.
I always said I would have a 32 highboy by the time I am 40, well I don't have one and I am 10 years late on that.

Ok stop posting I got to go to bed , cows up early [emoji202] [emoji4]

It's definitely a fun place to play. It makes me a bit complacent (right word, I think) after hours, I have two years worth of Rodder's Journal still in the cardboard sleeves.

These were just pics off my phone. We built the Hollingsworth Nomad clone and had a few 32's in the top 100 that I don't have pics of.

OK, so it's not a pre '75 but I'm sharing anyway. :) This 1978 25th Anniversary Corvette Pace car belonged to my older brother who passed away a little over a year ago. My brother owned this car for many years but I never saw him drive it, the car just sat in his garage in Santa Clarita, although it was detailed regularly. I brought the car to my house shortly after he passed but had to wait until I got it released from probate so I could register and get it road worthy again. Seems anything that could leak, did. The suspension had to be rebuilt as well as the brakes system and the exhaust was completely replaced The car is mostly original and it just rolled over 70k miles and it even passed smog without any problems. The pace car stickers were never put on the car but I do have them in their original boxes. She isn't fast but still manages to get plenty of attention when I drive it around, overall it's a nice little car that's pushing 40 years old. RIP big brother.

I have 4 old ones but the 2nd owner Mach I is my favorite. Anyone have a set of Magnum 500's laying around? For some reason I didnt have the 67 Mustang in the picture :(

My first car was a '70 Mach 1. Unfortunately things ended badly for that car. Some lady pulled out right in front of me at Euclid and 14th back in '85. :grumble:

That's gonna be nice. My first car was a '67 and I built an RS/SS for my girlfriend in high school. A customer came into the shop with a '69 and it felt like home just pulling it onto the rack.

You're lucky! My wife doesn't have the slightest interest in cars. She's not a hater just couldn't care less.

Damn jerry that looks bad. When my mother was pregnant with me, she was leaving a doc visit driving my dads 71 Mach 1. Pulled out in front of a car and totaled his "baby". Of course the first thing he asks is how bad the car was!

Wow, very cool thread :thumbsup
Didn't stop to thank everybody with their contributions, but I'm doing so now :thumbsup:thumbsup

Rvrrun --- now that's a very cool shop, more like a constantly changing museum, wouldn't know which one to buy ---- but that 57' ford wagon brought this ole boy some serious wood :thumbsup My first car in 1965 was a 57' Ford Stabbin-Wagon, grey and white 2 tone, 312 CI :champagne:
But alas one blurry night at Lake Arrowhead I introduced it to a very large pine tree --- the end :(

That one is still around. We have a love/hate relationship with the Y-block and a hate relationship with the Ford o Matic so a late 80's Monarch gave up its 302 and AOD for it. It's basically a hobby shop, the customer cars are brought in to just to keep the lights on and insurance paid. We will find a car like that wagon on eBay, have it shipped to us, build it and then it gets driven until someone wants to buy it. A bunch of them end up shipped to Sweden and other countries when people come in for LARS and Fathers Day.

My 69 that has been a never ending matter, full chassis c6 corvette front with coil over and 3 link in rear and I have everything to put it together except the want to. Fuel injected LS (L92) with a TKO 600 6 speed, Vintage air, rolling on 18x10s in front and 19x12s in rear. Its setting at actual ride height which is 4.75 inches. I tell myself I am going to knock it out but life always gets in the way. I have a 6 year old and 4 year old daughter and I want them to get an interest to help put the spark back in for me.

That looks awesome. I hope I can get mine to look that sanitary. I have a bad habit of analysis paralysis and cant decide what to do as far as what I want my engine to "look" like.
I don't have any gearhead buddies out here in BFE and is dam hard for me to make a decision on anything motor related. I have read every article and book I can get my hands on and I don't know anymore now than before. lol And don't dare ask about a direction on the newer platforms, everyone just glares at you(guys I know anyway). I have thought long and hard about selling my L92 and buying a completely dressed Crate motor and just go that route.

I did a bunch of home work too and had a million ideas but reality is for me there abosulty no reason to put mini tubs custom sub frame or 4 link and goodies and be 20k in suspension just to drive it up/down the freeway and cruising around. I did come too conclusion after i drove 2 other cars with LS swap and knew since its for the wife i wanted modern running gear with a.c. and 4 wheel disc brakes. Im putting the factory heater box back in place and going to reroute a.c. line sto the factory locations. Keep it clean and practical

I wouldn't paint it either, and wouldn't worry about anyone that says you should. Most of the cars we do are in original paint, like my T-Bird. It makes them more fun to drive and you don't have to worry about it. That's the main reason my 32 fenders are in the attic and not on the car, I drive it a lot and was worried about chips and dings. I came out of a store a few years ago, and this woman (I called her something else at the time) had her baby in the car seat sitting on my T-Bird on the flat area between the seat and trunk. She didn't think there was anything wrong with that.

A Vortech blown 400 sbc, th400, 9". It makes about 800 on 91 octane. It went 9.60 @145mph with a tire change. And I still take it to lunch on occasion.

Nice. I love the color.

SB2 heads? I have seen the exhaust pattern before.

Another future project. IMG_5140.jpg
A 1954 Gmc Coe that had been made into a 4-door extended cab. I will actually fit in this one. I have a duramax and a Allison for it. Trying to decide if I want to make a slant bed car hauler or just a regular bed on it.
