Prayers for Campbell Carl

We Visited Carl this PM after spending some time at his place with his sister Karen who is awesome and doing a great job holding it all together but you have to know that inside she is hurting big time. She is hanging at his place for now and our plans are to go over on Saturday and give her a hand sprucing CC's place up. If anyone is around and wants in on an hour or so of cleanup fun, I'm sure you'd be more than welcome.

Got to meet SFVRVR and Hammer and chat in the hall for a bit before they made the trek back up the 5. Great guys . . . but then, you already knew that. I know the family appreciates all of the support from the site as this becomes a wait and see situation.

As always, prayers and positive thoughts never hurt.

I passed on again how much RCL, TBI, FBT, and Go-Fly would like to be there and how much they care about him. Sorry Go-Fly, but I may have accidentally committed you to all of us meeting on your boat.

I also brought Carl a floatie key chain from the Keys in Lake Tahoe. I put it in his hand, helped him squeeze it so he could maybe feel it in his hand and let him know that I expect him to use the key chain when he gets better. I left the key chain in his hand when I left.

I will be going back this morning.

First, there are things that need to be done for Carl and his family at his place regardless the direction his health takes him. To do them right, (meaning, maybe an organized work party, tools, trucks and volunteers), might take a week or two to put together, not to mention that I want to talk to Karen and make sure she is cool with the idea.

My pal Jim and I are bringing a couple refrigerator sized sons over Saturday to take a load to the dump at her request. I'll ask her about doing more and volunteers then as well as pass on Joker's kind offer to bring her dinner. We already have offers of time from yourownself, wshuwrhr, and DURAMAXFX, and I'm sure with a little advance notice more of you would like to be involved. I'll post additional details on the board as this goes forward.

CC has lots of stuff laying around that needs to go away...the yard is a mess also..he lost his yard guy somehow. CC lives on like an acre of ground...and some people have stuff stored in his yard that also needs to go away..I'm relaying this because Armen told me. I'm obviously of no help...but I wold sure help with dump fees or help in anyway I could.

Sorry but this made me laugh a little thinking about a conversation I had with him about his "yard guy"... I believe the dead grass was more of a middle finger to the city as I recall!!

I had a nice phone conversation with Oso Viejo and he has known Carl and his family basically 50 years. He is going to be organizing something so if your willing to help at the house...it's my understanding Carl can really use it. Oso is working there this weekend to get a handle on whats really needed, then a help party will be attempted.

Hopefully a Mod can make Oso Viejo a sticky when he settles down a date. :thumbsup

Like I said before I have never met Carl face to face but he is a fantastic guy and I'm in for whatever Oso Viejo sets up.

I'm just heart broken by this. It is humbling to have known such a genuine and amazing person. I regret not knowing him longer but am thankful that God saw fit to let me call a guy like Carl, friend.
As I sit here watching the river we all love meander past this window I raise my glass and remember a man who never met a stranger and a friend to anyone he crossed paths with. Godspeed Carl Petersen. Thank you for blessing us all with your smile!
