first off dave,.... your boat doesn't need new power, it needs valve seals... which can be done cheep and easy,... next, you need a tri ton...cheep fun...
you can go get it and run it and see if you like it...it needs to go in the water as it just sits...to buy one like it with a triple trailer is north of 90k...

take the hallett and get seals put in, use the toon till then... then see if you miss it while it's gone, the coach is honda powered with like a 10 yr warranty , it has the dual helm which you will love with the rear lounges...theres nnnnnothing like a toon with kids, and room to put stuff, and a bbq... I think you could have those motors out of the boat in a couple hours, and put valve seals in...
as for the toon, I really haven't put it up for sale other thean here, as I know it will sell the day it hits craigslist...

as far as the hallett goes,... that's a very very rare boat, worth keeping.... I personally have never seen the problem you are having with the power,.. but from what you described ...it's minor...you can change the seals in the boat with compressed air

The motors have a lot of hours and need valve guides.. I am not putting gone of power in it, just heads / cams etc.. 375hp ea to maybe 425-450..

I wouldn’t even get into the realm of problems at the speeds we are talking about.

That said did you ever try to change your setup? Because I have ridden in a straight bottom 270 with twin small blocks and whipples and we were running 96 mph (for a time side by side with another boat) and it was Rock solid.. with a little more left to go!
your motors don't need guides, they need seals..20 bucks worth of parts,.. those motors will go north of 1000 hrs,.. but, if you pull the motors just do a valve job and put the heads back on and put the motors back in the boat...my opinion is that the motor sat for some time and the seals got hard... or it was over heated at some point and took the longivity out of the seals...like said,... thats the holy grail of halletts with the twin scorpion motors
