What is everyone upgrading or repairing this off season? We are keeping it minimal as the boat doesn’t need much. Pedro with Saleen picked up the boat today. He is going to pull of the keel guards and re gel the sponsons etc. Other than that just service it early next season. I will update this thread with pics as i get them.

Looking to have hydronic steering added to take care of a little bit of a slop in the steering wheel. 👍 Depending on how that goes might change out the throttle controls as it is bit sticky and hangs up a bit.

I honestly would like to finish my house in Parker. Would make out river trips a lot better.

As for the boats

The 22
I need to install the gauges and get new wheels on the trailer. I would really like to get a new interior but that’s a stretch.

The 26
New stereo and New or redo the trailer. Wife fell off the bow cause of the current ladder design. She said make it better so Yes mam!

All this is after the election. Ain’t trying to be stupid.

Think I'm going to pull the winshield off the triton and have it powdered black, I've always hated the aluminum look.

This season it was fixing the boat just to have a season, this off-season is going to be about the trailer.

Trailer is 10 years old so its time for new hubs. Will also take the opportunity to check the disc brakes, and see if some rust spots need some attention. Also I want to increase the height of the guide bars to work better with steep ramps, which means changing how they mount to take their increased weight and leverage they'd otherwise have on the trailer. Hopefully Shadow in LHC can pull that off.

I had a fuel issue last trip would not turn on after a short run . Waiting a long while and fired up again . Got it home put the muffs on it one exhaust was not shooting out water like the other side . This is on a 454 Mpi 7.4 gonna see what I find . Next is the trailer for sure bunks and possibly paint .

Vapor lock? 90s mercruisers had issues with the "cool fuel" pumps vapor locking

Nothing mechanical planned. Need to get the stereo dialed in. Not really an upgrade, just get everything in working order.

Don’t know how much I’ll get done but the plan is -

Trailer: Get a bow ladder and storage box put on the trailer. Maybe all new LED lights.

Boat: seadek, underwater lights and camera. Second dash garmin, new head unit.

Motors: service motor and drives. Address oil leak to rear of port motor.

We’ll see how much he gets to. 😁

That’s what I was thinking actually . Maybe the water flow isn’t there and basically not enough cool water in the cool fuel box causing the fuel to get too hot 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hoping to get the bimini poles powder coated black.

Also hoping to get it to Eliminator for the extended swim step. Maybe underwater lights. It needs cleats as well. I can’t figure out how to get the flush mount fender pin thingys to NOT pull out when I tie up.

We shall see if I get around to either of those things however.

Might be worth doing cerakote, that's where I'm at now is trying to figure out if I'm going cerakote or powder on the winshield.

We have a couple guy in town that do cerakote now

It’s always nice having “want repairs” and not “have to mechanical” repairs.

What I want to do.
- new Interior (including new DecX or Carpet) - boat is a 2007 after all
- resolve blending on clear from prior gel repairs
- new gauges
- new Bimini fabric only
- address fuel fill issue on port tank (burps at 3/4 tank when on trailer)
- trim gauge - stopped working last trip
- trailer (it is a 2007 and showing signs of rust, so something needs to be done)

What will get done
- annual service
- gauges
- trim gauge
- fuel fill

With my daughters volleyball (national travel team), our lake trips are impacted.
Only had 9 days of boating in 2024. Down from over 20 in 2023.

On my Nordic Heat I will be installing a MDC HP drive coupler, full hydraulic steering (half system now), and new wheels/tires for the trailer. And of course the usual maintenance items.

Get my floor repaired and since the carpet has to come out replacing with SeaDek, and while interior is out get the fuel gauge senders looked at, they both seemed to have shit the bed at the same time...

I wish.
She made the 13-2 team at Coast (club is ranked top 5 Nationally and #3 in CA).
She is ranked in the top 20 for her position (Libero) in Southern California for her age group heading into the 2025 travel season. Already has had college coaches approach her in the gym. Proud parent moment when you hear college coaches tell her, she has some of the best positioning and anticipation they have ever seen in someone so young.

So her dream is not getting prioritized over boating.

I should re gel from beach rash but we will see. I’m in a weird spot with the election. A Democrat in the office probably favors me in the short term but damage could be irreversible long term. The other way could hurt unions which I suppose would hurt me but I’ve done some things to protect myself so I dunno. Definitely a weird spot.

If trump impacted you the first time, plan for that. If he did not impact your union the first time, expect the same.
If Harris wins, everything is going overseas and unions will be impacted more then they realize

You gotta try it Doug!!! The last 2 weeks were incredible. Water temp is slowly creating up but still nicer than April. Be back in a coupe of weeks if you want to hit the water. 👍 Still a bit too hot and have not swapped out the SXS to the front of the boat….YET.

That’s the problem. My shits at the end of the line. Been waiting for 6 months for him to rig our Boston whaler. Oh yeah! That’s on the agenda too for the off season. Lol .

We switched engines last winter ( 496 HO Mag- 2002). Have both exhaust manifolds still. Freshwater only. 500 hours. No issues. ( other than the engine blew up..lol). Make you a deal if you need 'em.

Did you buy the rv yet?
Was going to sell the Fundeck and move down to a 25ft Daytona but now thinking of building a different engine and keeping the Fundeck for another season or two.
The fundeck is clean. I’d rock it.
Was planning on the Whipple stage 3 for the Shockwave but the desert toy is kicking my wallets ass! We will see how things go.
Just do it. It’s only money 😂. After all this is RDP.
Service, new impeller housing needed, ceramic coat the boat.

Who’s doing the ceramic. You’re going to love it when it’s done!

We made the deal a while back but like everything in my life it’s become complicated 😂😂 at this point I’m just rolling with it I don’t know what else I can do. I’m not even mad though life is just hard sometimes

Side note I lied about my boat I’m just trying to not be an asshole as I really don’t see that helping anything. But I really do understand even with the compressor stuff I’m going to. It’s a different world we live in

I tried to get the swim step guys in Havasu to do it, but they can’t get it level with the rear of the boat like the OEM one sits. So, easy choice aside from the difference in cost and dragging it out to so cal.

You gotta keep up. Look above my post. It’s a response to prior posts about waiting till after the election to spend money. Posts 6 and 7. Didn’t even have to read too much 🤷‍♂️

I had an issue like this on my 502. Fix was just to let it idle for a short period after a “hot” run. If i just if i just came off plane to and idle then off if would be tough to get it fired again.
