Pull the RV out and see what it needs to get through desert season.... 💰💰💰💰..... In January/February I'll see what the boats need.... 💰💰💰💰💰. Rinse and repeat! LOL....Honestly Debating pulling the 525's and going through them....... Not looking forward to it. She runs great, but its time to freshen them up.

lol With me it’s more about time then money. How busy will I be based on who wins. Taking a day off to go get that damn RV is the next hurdle
Don't you union folks need to call someone from the GelCoat union to do gel work? What time?

1. Gel repair at Saleen's.
2. Both swim steps re-coated, probably changing the colors.
3. Trailer serviced, probably at Shadow. Would like to go with new wheels, but not really necessary, and maybe swap trailer lights to LED.
4. Yearly servicing engine and drive.

I'll likely spend enough just getting this stuff done. Good luck to all in accomplishing their goals.

Hoping to get my boat tuned right after it's been in the shop going on 7 months.

The Howard is getting a new carb and a MSD Distributor. The keel is getting done with other touch up gel work. The upholstery seemed worse then it ever has. The seams seem gone. Not sure if being left outside for 2.5 months did it at the mechanics or what. It’s still pretty clean and comfortable so we will hold out for a few more years.

The Daytona project is on hold until the Howard is right. Just scraping carpet and re-wiring is happening right now. We got a quote to do the upholstery so hoping that can still get done… if not, we might have to rock the seats for one summer.

Can’t wait to see you guys restore the Daytona

Might buy a storage to keep it in during the winter. One of those opportunities that pops up randomly when you're at the river.

I need to get the front cushion fixed. Probably send it with my buddy that works at Cobra. Few scratches if I ever find the time to drag it up to Havasu.

Badass!

What’s the reason for the bottom? Was it messed up before?

It had keel guards on it with a few chips in the glass. I want it perfect because I have ocd. So called Saleen and they’ve been nothing but pleasant to do business with. I’d recommend them to anyone so far.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the ballpark on the keels? I need to do mine also, because like you I am OCD and it bugs the shit out of me

I am having him fix a few other things to make it perfect. My total bill is about 5k he’s painting a trailer fender fixing a scratch and some small chips on the back.

To be honest I like the keel guards because it’s a layer of protection. But they were starting to flap in the back so it was time to rip them off. I am leaving them off as I don’t like to beach my boat I’ll usually either anchor out or toss an anchor off the back and sand spike the front so the boat isn’t touching the beach etc. Pedro said he would put them on no problem but they don’t stick on cats like the vee bottoms.

I'm thinking about getting a new setero and wired controlers to replace my old Alpine. I've been looking at the JL MM 105, and also thinking about getting some work done to my trailer: new bunks, fenders and new paint.
I wonder how much is that going to cost me?

Having Pedro at Saleen fix a few small spots and having the trailer painted is all I’m planning this year.

Stereo depends on how crazy you wanna go. I’d say 3-5k for something decent that will sound good to you inside the boat but not win any contests while standing outside. Please don’t get those damn pod speakers that mount on the back I hate those people. 😂😂😂. Trailer depends on where you take it also. What size trailer? For reference for me bunks at adrenaline this year was 1400.

Not really an off season for us, we will run boat all year round. But, we want to get the front and rear bimini's connected. Been having some issues with the front one for some reason and our 3rd one is on order. Kinda nervous about customizing it if I keep having to replace it under warranty.

I think I may have gotten 70hrs on the new boat since April, time for an oil change at a minimum. Maybe polish up the toons if I can find some downtime.

i just got done going down this road with my magic trailer. After getting quotes from extreme and adrenaline on a new build it was a no brainer for me to just buy new instead of redoing my old magic trailer

I did the boat upgrades mid season. Had to buy a new trailer. Old trailer finally gave out from years of sitting in Florida without the boat on it. Now onto prepping the jeep for the upcoming desert season. All new heims and bushings in the rear and rebuild all the rear shocks.

How did the boat look after you picked it up. You just had it detailed. Fiberglass place seems like it would be a disaster on a clean boat.

No overspray anywhere on it. I was very clear with Pedro to put extra plastic etc on it so it didn’t get overspray he sent me numerous videos of it wrapped in plastic and taped etc.

Mine spent most of the summer in the shop with stupid little crap. It’s getting an oil change, drive oil and I’m splashing it… any more grief and it’s getting a for sale sign 🤨

Had to rebuild the gimbal, leaking power steering rams (2 months of chasing that issue), then we rolled right into a heating problem that Mario chased most of the summer.. turned out to be a kinked hose in the transom assembly. Once that was resolved, the fuel pump died.. FML.

I've got a pretty good list this year since I want to change a couple things cosmetically on the boat, along side normal maintenance and some basic mods. We'll see if I can get everything done this winter or if I'll have to push any of it to next year.

Trailer
- bearing caps since the trailer buddy's sling grease EVERYWHERE.
- paint
-bunks
-might add a drive guard/rear step plate

Boat
- all the clear powdercoated aluminum is coming off and being stripped and re powdered
- relocate batteries to more easily accessible spot
- rewire amp / replace speakers
- I'm swapping intakes and adding roller rockers along with adding o2 bungs to the risers and installing a adjustable fpr
- it's been 2 or 3 years since I went through and tightened/checked all the hardware on the hatches and it needs done
- repair gelcoat from kissing the dock during ldw
- regular maintenance (drive, oil, bellows, plugs, wires, coils & clean /replace injectors

Broke the bracket for stern light on Bimini. Bought a new light online and changed it out. Won’t be cruising the channel anymore with the light dangling by the wires.

Checked the fire extinguisher. No gauge but it’s a 1998 model. Same as the boat. OEM 😁 shit. Don’t know the rule but guessing this won’t pass a safety inspection. New one is on the list. No way in hell I’m going to find one that fits the OEM center console bracket. Thinking about getting one of those nice big extinguishers with hose and metal bracket from Costco. It’s a pontoon, not winning any shows with it. 😁

Lower drive oil change also on the list coming up. Two strokes make maintenance easier.

Barrett serviced the boat. Chris Howard with Howard Custom detail cleaned her up and she’s back at storage.
