Don't know about other banks, but when I buy a cashiers check from my Federal Credit Union they make damn sure I understand when I leave the bank that check is as good as cash. If I lose it, I'm out that money. No stop payment. No recourse. When buyers are skeptical, I give them the phone number to the credit union and that resolves any questions.

I have moved my own funds from one bank to another using a cashiers check. The banks are in the same parking lot. I withdrew the money from Bank A and got the funds in a Cashiers Check, the funds were removed from my account at Bank A. I walked to the other bank to deposit the check in Bank B. I had a receipts showing I withdrew the funds and bought the cashiers check. Bank B still put a 10 day hold on the funds (I think they gave me access to 5-10K). During the 10 days, the funds were not available to me in either account.

Unbelievable. Hopefully Kurt retains possession of whatever was sent in the original FedEx package and doesn't send it back. OCM has no rights to it at this point and if I had to guess, it was not a check that covered the full amount owed.

Iam not leaving town over this ! This boat sold on the 10 th July . I had clear title work from seller , I got a call from an unknown person stating their was another vested owner that was not listed on the title. On the 18 th of this month I got a release of interest . The customer wanted only a direct deposit which I refused to do . ( no paper trail ) The wire did post in time today . I will meet with him Monday and a cashiers check will be issued. My only goal at this point is to make him whole and get this behind me.
