Never would have imagined armed robberies happening at an in-n-out Burger being as busy as they tend to be. I know AutoZone's get hit often, now wondering if McDees, BK, Jack, etc. get hit often too?

What are some of the places that more or less surprised you of being robbed at gunpoint?

They are pushing too far, and when the tide turns it's going to be like the wild wild west.

Vigilante justice, AKA Street justice is going to become the norm. This bullshit will stop real quick at that point.

Wow. That's how you KNOW its getting bad . . .
In N Out is busy AF, raking in cash at every location they open. If they're shutting the doors due to safety, its 100% legit and serious!

LOL libs don’t enforce crime and neighborhoods go to shit, so businesses leave. Then they complain and refer to themselves as “underserved communities”.

Simply unbelievable, its happening across the US not just Oakland, it’s how they envision the new world.

Exactly...
There's an area here in Albuquerque that's had Walmart &numerous other businesses (drug stores, restaurants, service stations)all close.
Area's a ghost town,it's kinda eerie.

The problem would be the "vigilantes" would be arrested, prosecuted and jailed. The criminals set free and financially compensated.

That neighborhood is a shithole. It’s a no fly zone for sure.

As was said already Oakland really does the out of control crime thing to themselves. Of course local politicians deny it but it is true. They make it impossible for the police to do their jobs and the police don’t have enough resources. Then the local politicians blame the crime on everything OTHER than the policies they voted for that caused the crime.

I just avoid the area….. I suggest you do too.

I have to drive by there when I go somewhere so I just lock the doors and never stop!! Pray for no flat tires.

This In & Out is located near the Oakland Airport. Apparently there is a lot of crime around the airport. The rental car companies are warning customers to not fill up their gas tanks at any of the gas stations near the airport. Thieves are targeting unsuspecting travelers by robbing them while they are at the gas stations. They are smashing windows and opening car doors while folks are in their cars. One rental car company said that they have up to 5 broken car windows a day.

How can an elected official think that this is in anyway acceptable. The city leaders should be stripped of their jobs and the city itself should be held accountable for the lack of enforcement! The airport needs to demand a change.

Companies, businesses and insurance companies should start filing lawsuits against these cities

This "Wild West" lawlessness that you see scattered all over social media on a daily basis is going to continue until folks get sick and tired of it. If people start filling these fuckers full of holes and leave their lifeless bodies face down on the pavement, they'll stop fucking around with law abiding citizens.

Yeah but the problem is the police dont want to go after the actual criminals committing the crimes but will go after the vigilante in a heartbeat.

If the cops would do the jobs they get paid for (and yeah I know it’s dangerous and some of them may not come home), there wouldn’t be vigilante justice going on.

It’s a strange double standard.

So it’s that In-N-Out near the airport? I posted this a year ago, titled “Welcome to Oakland.” I knew it was bad, but closing a cash machine that is an In-N-Out, that takes some real effort by the locals.

Welcome to Oakland January’23

Flying out to visit sis in Benicia, a charming little artsy city surrounded by 3 big refineries (for those not familiar). Sis is liberal, but we can enjoyably discuss politics without either of us getting mad. Kinship will always trump stupid politics.

Returning to OAK airport as we enter Oakland we are greeted with a large saying on a freeway overpass, eloquently spelled out in lovely Christmas holly, are the words, “Eat The Rich.” OK, classic Oakland, just cracked me up.

Gas up at our normal Chevron station near the airport and see they posted this big lug out by the pumps. Kudos to Chevron for seeing the threat and fixing it. Looked like he was taking shit from NOBODY. Guess I’ve never seen gas stations posting security guards by the pumps.

The Piece De Resistance greeted us as we returned to Hertz. This poor bastard had his window busted out. Clerk said the customer had nothing in the car.

Welcome to the Bay Area 😀

Yeah?
When?
What is the limit?
When does this tide turn?
Nothing directed at you,
I ask because I’ve been hearing it since ‘08 or longer.

“By god they’re really pushing it now! It s almost time!”
The frog got boiled a long time ago.

Didn’t a CA DA recently bring charges against that dude on the news that defended his home when they tried to bum rush his front door as he was going inside?
Like 2 months ago or whatever?
Not to my knowledge, but I know he did face some backlash from that incident.

Yeah I’m not sure what it involved but I seem to recall they served a search warrant and took his guns or something like that?
Point is, what chance does Joe civilian have in CA?
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t.

I heard a rumor that his CCW may have been revoked, but don't quote me on that.

The only thing I can think of, is MAYBE he might face a charge of some sort of "Unlawful discharge of a firearm in city limits" or something to that affect. Even if a D.A. were to be presented with that type of case filing, and if it somehow found it's way into a courtroom, I highly doubt the homeowner would be charged criminally. I can't see a judge reviewing the evidence and finding the homeowner in violation considering the details surrounding that particular incident. He could also face civil/punitive damages, but I doubt those criminals would be willing to come forward and push their luck.

Agreed.
But it does put a damper on the entire “Wild West justice” theory.
The criminals are already there.

My recommendation is people educate themselves on the current laws and pay attention to what's happening local to them. Know what you're willing to do when shit does hit the fan if and when you find yourself in a life or death situation. That is a predicament that's damn-near impossible to prepare yourself for....but you better have SOME way to defend yourself if need be.

I hear this all the time, but it's a little more complicated than that simple broad stroke statement. The street cops, actually do want to get the bad guy, but now with joe public actually seeing how that goes down (i.e. cameras) the general public doesn't like what they see. Police work street level, is ugly, unpredictable, and not a perfect science (some criminals go along with program, and some want to take a gamble on their lives, meaning they fight) The general public has been so indoctrinated with the movie versions of good vs evil, and how Walker Texas ranger does it, they think that's how police work goes. So when said cop goes after bad guy, and it doesn't look pretty on video, his/her own Department punishes them, sometimes brutally (suspension, termination, incarceration). Point being, until the voters start putting the right people in places that exude true leadership and support (i.e.. Sheriff Lamb, or Sheriff Grady Judd and likewise with the DA and Mayor positions) this will continue on.
