I wonder how many In-N-Out locations have closed EVER in the entire history of the company.

My recommendation is people educate themselves on the current laws and pay attention to what's happening local to them. Know what you're willing to do when shit does hit the fan if and when you find yourself in a life or death situation. That is a predicament that's damn-near impossible to prepare yourself for....but you better have SOME way to defend yourself if need be.
Been there done that.

Yeah but the problem is the police dont want to go after the actual criminals committing the crimes but will go after the vigilante in a heartbeat.

If the cops would do the jobs they get paid for (and yeah I know it’s dangerous and some of them may not come home), there wouldn’t be vigilante justice going on.

It’s a strange double standard.
Cops do what they are told to do! If a mayor wants to crack down on crime he tells the police chief and it works its way down. The opposite is true too. You also have to have support from prosecutors etc. then society has to decide they want to spend on prisons.

I hear this all the time, but it's a little more complicated than that simple broad stroke statement. The street cops, actually do want to get the bad guy, but now with joe public actually seeing how that goes down (i.e. cameras) the general public doesn't like what they see. Police work street level, is ugly, unpredictable, and not a perfect science (some criminals go along with program, and some want to take a gamble on their lives, meaning they fight) The general public has been so indoctrinated with the movie versions of good vs evil, and how Walker Texas ranger does it, they think that's how police work goes. So when said cop goes after bad guy, and it doesn't look pretty on video, his/her own Department punishes them, sometimes brutally (suspension, termination, incarceration). Point being, until the voters start putting the right people in places that exude true leadership and support (i.e.. Sheriff Lamb, or Sheriff Grady Judd and likewise with the DA and Mayor positions) this will continue on.
All true.
Except I like watching bad guys get their due…either by cop or active self protection.
What I do not like is when cops automatically treat every contact as a criminal.
It violates rights and costs a lot of money annually.
I get a lot of shit for that, and called a cop hater.

You believe what you want. 👍

You can’t defend yourself in most California cities without lawsuits or criminal charges. It’s why every business lets people walk out with whatever .. Someone would have to have nothing to lose to go vigilante. The odds of one person doing it are extremely slim. A group of people. Zero.

Agreed, it's a tough tightrope to walk when you're out there day in and day out. Me personally, while it it was cool watching the Bin Ladin raid, I believe there's just some things not for public consumption (i.e..cameras) The irony we'll pay 100 bucks to watch a brutal UFC match and cheer it on, but when a cop is on the corner fighting we critique and shame the shit out of it?

Name that movie line "You're the disease, and I'm the cure" 😂

So it’s that In-N-Out near the airport? I posted this a year ago, titled “Welcome to Oakland.” I knew it was bad, but closing a cash machine that is an In-N-Out, that takes some real effort by the locals.

Welcome to Oakland January’23

Flying out to visit sis in Benicia, a charming little artsy city surrounded by 3 big refineries (for those not familiar). Sis is liberal, but we can enjoyably discuss politics without either of us getting mad. Kinship will always trump stupid politics.

Returning to OAK airport as we enter Oakland we are greeted with a large saying on a freeway overpass, eloquently spelled out in lovely Christmas holly, are the words, “Eat The Rich.” OK, classic Oakland, just cracked me up.

Gas up at our normal Chevron station near the airport and see they posted this big lug out by the pumps. Kudos to Chevron for seeing the threat and fixing it. Looked like he was taking shit from NOBODY. Guess I’ve never seen gas stations posting security guards by the pumps.

The Piece De Resistance greeted us as we returned to Hertz. This poor bastard had his window busted out. Clerk said the customer had nothing in the car.

Welcome to the Bay Area 😀

Yes. It's on Heggenberger road. Leads you into the airport. I've witnessed 2 smash and grabs at gas stations there. I will never fill up there again. If i get hit with a gas charge on my rental car, so be it

I respectfully disagree with this and I'll tell you why. If you and/or your family members are in a situation where your lives are in danger, then you are legally allowed to defend yourself. If this leads up to and includes deadly force, if you can articulate that, then you will be OK criminally. Yes, you're going to be put through the ringer and people will be looking to hold you to the flame, but if you can ARTICULATE the fact that the only choice left was to use deadly force, so be it.

The laws regarding theft and shoplifting from businesses are a different topic altogether. Businesses don't let people "Walk out" with whatever. There's a lot more involved regarding retail theft. It essentially boils down to costs and civil liability.

It's far easier and more cost effective for a business to "Write off" the loss of 5 pairs of Levi's jeans than it is to cover the costs associated with an employee who is injured because they try to disrupt the theft in the first place. Take it a step further. If an employee chases Mr. Asshole out of the store and gets into a confrontation, the company can be held liable for whatever occurs. Maybe it's a simple physical fight and the loss is recovered. Well, now Mr. Asshole has the ability to file for a Private Person's arrest of that employee who "Assaulted" him. Now that company is forced to bring in attorneys to represent that employee who prevented the theft and got into the fight. How much do attorneys make these days??

Now, let's say that Mr. Asshole is armed. Now he gets into the same altercation with the store employee who's trying to prevent the theft. Now that employee gets shot or worse, killed. The company is now faced with covering those medical bills for treatment. You KNOW that employee is most likely going to file a lawsuit against the company because of what occurred. Once again, they bring in attorneys to resolve the civil suit brought on by the employee.

If that same employee is shot and killed by Mr. Asshole, now the family of said deceased employee is going to file a lawsuit against the company for the wrongful death. Did we mention attorneys fees yet??

This is just a quick Readers Digest version of what happens and why many businesses look at the numbers and have determined it's not worth the risk. So they've drafted up policies to prohibit their employees from going hands on and getting involved.

Sorry for the thread derail, but I figured I'd share a little bit about retail theft since it was mentioned. 👍

Hahahaa!! Mayors don't necessarily dictate what law enforcement officers do and don't do. If laws are broken and suspects are apprehended, then they go to jail. There is an expectation for law enforcement personnel to do their job, it's as simple as that.

Now, the Mayor or City Council member or other entitled Government dip-shit who gets a complaint regarding "Said problem," is definitely going to push that complaint downhill to the Police Chief and expect some type of resolution. That's a given.

You're 100% correct about law enforcement needing support from prosecutors. No doubt about it. Right now, L.A. county is dealing with that the best way they can with that POS D.A. failing to do HIS job. Fuck that guy! 🤬

Unfortunately this all going to plan , and is becoming a way for our society now . Europe and the U.K. are already suffering from the same policies . If we get a new administration this year , once the Genie is out of the bottle , how long to put it back ? And can you imagine the pushback ?

Check out the "mayor" of Oaklands "The Baracacy is real, and the magic wand" speech. She makes Kamala sound like a Rhodes Scholar.

She's a political puppet just like majority of people in her position. Hence the recall efforts after her first year in that position. 👍

Never would have imagined armed robberies happening at an in-n-out Burger being as busy as they tend to be. I know AutoZone's get hit often, now wondering if McDees, BK, Jack, etc. get hit often too?

What are some of the places that more or less surprised you of being robbed at gunpoint?
A lot are going back to full encased counters like banks. Oakland is a shit hole. Always has been, always will. These thugs fuck everything up! They're all subsidized, government kids. Meaning their moms had them for a paycheck. No dads in sight!!

In a lot of areas mayors hire the pc. The mayor may not run day to day operations but they do influence how the police department is run. They can hire a tough on crime pc if thats what they want or they can higher a soft on crime pc.

I wish there was a Waffle House restaurant here in CA like they have in the South. I have family in SC and they are everywhere there it seems. I like the food. I think they have a few in AZ but not here in CA. Probably wouldn't work out and the food would be too expensive...

At some point there will be no police to arrest the law abiding citizen or they won’t be willing to leave the station
I don’t think the police put a lot of effort into finding someone who shoots a criminal in the commission of a crime

The police have given enforcement duties to our insurance companies.

When’s the last time you got a speeding ticket from a cop? You pretty much need to be wreak less driving. Those APP’s on our phones slow things down.

It’s raining in Phoenix tonight. It’s not freezing, just wet. Every place with an overhang is filled with the homeless trying to stay dry. Remember this as you look around your business.

Like pigeons finding shelter, you need to fence these off at night. Especially when it’s raining.

If fencing doesn’t work, I suggest planting cactus. 😂

How do you mean?

Europe and the UK don't have California Democrats.

We kept our kids in school during COVID, don't hand out money to attract the homeless, prosecute crime, etc, etc.

I think that may be in the area my niece her husband got jacked. Three police officers and one non officer. They were on their way to Tahoe for wedding arrangements and stopped at a coffee shop real quick. Immediately as they went in to the coffee shop the scumbags shattered the window and cleaned out the truck. It was also raining very hard so driving anywhere was fucked. They were aware of their surroundings and still got jacked. The criminals are just sitting, observing and pouncing at a moment's notice

I had the opportunity to meet with the County Attorney in Maricopa. It’s exactly as described above. What’s not mentioned is the loss of moral on the local police. Progressive Attorneys created this shit show and should be voted out of office. Arizona is on the brink, but California will fall first. Sad to see any business run out of town.

The solution maybe just hand out fentanyl to the shitbags
Confiscated drugs could be given to the homeless and criminal elements at To go windows
Let the coroner take care of the problem
They already do that via the WEF UN and our government. They would rather it be the white, fit fighting age men though.

Another reason for them to push their "cashless society" bullshit (instead of actually fixing the real problem/issue)
100. The people will ask for control…that is the purpose of chaos.
