No amount of laws can fix this. It is a societal problem

If we had a society that was cohesive in their values it would never be an issue, but we have watered down American society and allowed it to be split where one side believes criminals are actually victims. When those people are in positions of power from the police officer all the way up to the DA's office, state legislatures etc, and juries, no amount of laws can create law and order, as they will just be ignorned, maliciously interpreted, etc.

In a lot of areas mayors higher the pc. The mayor may not run day to day operations but they do influence how the police department is run. They can hire a tough on crime pc if thats what they want or they xan higher a soft on crime pc.

Also OPD is under a Federal Consent Decree for alleged heavy handed tactics and' "harassment." For the most part, cops aren't going the extra mile like they were.

I have stopped at that location many times to grab a bite before my flight home. Never felt particularly unsafe, but it's Oakland. One time I had to leave extra time to get to the airport due to riots across the freeway. Fun place...

I read the article a few days ago but after this RDP Post I checked the location. I thought I would discover it was just a bad placement by In-N-Out google maps and even google street view show they are just off a freeway, right by the major airport, surrounded by other major brands.

This In & Out is located near the Oakland Airport. Apparently there is a lot of crime around the airport. The rental car companies are warning customers to not fill up their gas tanks at any of the gas stations near the airport. Thieves are targeting unsuspecting travelers by robbing them while they are at the gas stations. They are smashing windows and opening car doors while folks are in their cars. One rental car company said that they have up to 5 broken car windows a day.

How can an elected official think that this is in anyway acceptable. The city leaders should be stripped of their jobs and the city itself should be held accountable for the lack of enforcement! The airport needs to demand a change.

The center that this In n Out is in was also a Walmart location, Wally walked out of there 5 or 6 years ago maybe more and that building is still vacant. I was part of a gas station robbery a few moths ago, I had just pulled up and there was a young lady getting gas on the outside pumps, I was inside, i get out of my rental and a car flys in, dude jumps out of the back seat and grabs her purse out of her car. As the MFER jumped out of the car I was yelling and ran to clock the sob until the drivers window rolled down and I saw the gun... I stopped and backed up and they were gone. I was raging mad and wanted to beat those bastards... I have stopped using OAK in general and go to San Jose which is not all that different now.

I have liberal friends. They are good people but just don't get it. I avoid politics around them.
Corolla leaves Kimmels name out of it because it was Kimmel that gave Corolla a break and a slight but successful shot in show business.

The Starbucks on Balboa in Knollwood has had three robberies recently. Weapon of choice now is a chopped stock and sawed off barrel shotgun stuck in the cashiers face.
A chance now a families daughter gets a minimum wage, body in constant motion job, hopes for at least $10 after the tips are split and gets her head blown off.
