If the 300 is really gone that was a very dumb decision on someone's part. Those boats are absolutely phenomenal entry size twin big block setups. One of, if not the best boat they have ever offered, in both function and performance pleasure boating, and probably the best boat ever designed by Bailey.

I'm sitting here scratching my head on why that's gone and the 260 AC, Player, heck even the Vector (which I love) stuck around?

Bummed about the original 400 as well.

Yep the original 40 was much better than the new one IMO as well. Not a fan of big glass windshields, but to each their own.

An old schiada customer of ours has one of the original 40's still, and it's a great boat, just a little cumbersome to store/tow.

Agree completely. 30 was the best Bud Bailey built boat hands down. The Gen 1 40 also was such a badass boat.

Jerry flat out said he would never get rid of the 30 or 34.

Seems like Hallett was trying to "improve" with the 290, new 400 and the 336 ( whatever they settled on as far as model name) all three having the windshield.

But the 210, 240, 255 (closed bow), 270, 300, and og 400 all were the "classic" but modern halletts. Just my thoughts.

Love the 290 and I think 336. But in my opinion they aren't the "classics".

They were trying to make more modern looking boats is what Jerry was going for. Reason for the round windshields on the 255 and safety glass.

The 36 is gone. I'm guessing you mean 335?

I will say this though our 335 rides and handles better than the 30. In my opinion. I love the 30 though. I just like the behind the wheel feel of the 335 more.

Way more stable at speed, and rides so smooth.

That's the one. 335 is beautiful but in my opinion it stands on its own. Still a Hallett but it broke out of the typical Hallett look. IMO though they should have taken the win and not tried to take the rest of the fleet that direction. Not a knock on them as I don't enough about selling boats. Just always loved the looked of the late 90's to 2005ish Halletts

Disturbing if true from FB...

Just sharing a short snippet of my call today with Nordic, specifically Thane (a true ass). I have a 2017 Hallett and was inquiring about how a warranty issue would be supported by Nordic. In short he told me they are Nordic NOT Hallett and would not be honoring any Hallett warranties....more specifically he told me it was not their problem and I better call Jerry and Jim to handle my problem. As usual Jim answered my call and said he would help me get things done.
So basically don't expect Nordic to stand behind anything for existing Hallett owners. He stated he would not honor any deals made by Hallett and it was my problem to deal with. He even kept asking why I was calling Nordic, which I responded .... because that's who the website says to call!

I can't imagine the situation being handled like that, even if it was their position. Sounds like #fakenews

I call bs. Thane doesn't even talk that way. Nordic has amazing customer service. They would never turn someone away like that. Even if covering warranties wasn't part of the deal, they aren't going to compromise their reputation and or the Hallett brand telling people pound sand.

I don't think I would trust most of what you read on the internet. A lot of old grumpy hard core Hallett guys are pissed about his whole deal.

Nordic is known for there customer service and attention to detail. I'm not saying they are going to honor Hallett warranty issues as that might have died or been eliminated when the company sold.

If the boat is new and perfect and doesn't have an issue they are just speculating and causing problems.

I bet there is less than 7 boats that still fall under the 12 month bow/stern warranty. Mercury warranties would still be valid and Nordic is an approved shop.

They are not going to replace the cracked hull on a 8 year old 255

I call bs! I've had nothing but outstanding customer service in all of my dealings with everyone at Nordic! They truly get the "customer comes first" concept, I have nothing but high praise for them!

Right?!?
Not only that, that FB post didn't quote Thane saying "Eh", not one time. :D
A bullshit FB post.

And a reason I don't do FB.

Any pics or links to said FB posters boat?
If it's really a 17 Hallett there's at least a 50/50 chance I met with the customer on color.
Tell him to prove it!

I have a 2017 and have some open items that Jerry and Jim were going to take care of when I brought it in for service. I called Nordic this afternoon and was told to call back tomorrow morning and talk with Thane. I've heard nothing but good things about the guys over at Nordic. Guess we will see if this is a bs story. Sounds funky to me.

I believe he might be in Ca overseeing some of the move?

It hasn't even been a whole 7 days since the announcement and we're still seeing pics from random members of stuff headed east.

They didn't get where they are by bad buisness ;)

PS, you're the red and grays 255, right?

That is me. I was wondering about the couple in question because we too live in Upland. I know Daniel told me the last two 255's went to Arrowhead.

And by the way, gelcoat came out amazing! We get a lot of compliments on it.

I can't say I recognize her face. The boat does look new though.
I wonder what the issue is?

I've worked with Thane. He's a smart guy. Smart enough to take care of that situation what ever trivial it may be?
Same for John. They've both been around the block. Picking up a new name, this isn't how they would start the ball rolling.

The unknown to me? Randy, their boss.
Anyone I know that knows the guy says he's a stand up guy, and again, restarting a brand...my gut tells me he'd want to make this gal happy.

There has to be something else going on here?

If you think about this, if there, was any truth, at all in this , it would not help Hallett nor would it benefit Nordic, I think they spent the last 7 years building Nordic to where it is , to not do this.
Doesn't make sense in my eyes , especially after talking to John at Nordic the other day.

Gelcoater, you probably never met them. I believe this is the boat that was done for stock that was at the boat show. It had the 6.2 litre motor. I believe it had a maroon graffic with silver secondary and white pearl. I think they bought it at the boat show.

I agree with you guys, sounds weird to me that guys as smart as Randy and Thane would start right out of the gates that way.

When I bought my first Nordic in 2014, I saw several older Nordics being worked on. One boat in particular was having the floor ripped out. I specifically asked Thane if they were covering boats Orville had built. He said "for sure, eh". So I can't imagine Nordic not doing the same for Hallett if it's within reason. I can also envision scenarios where recent Hallett buyers were maybe promised something, and now expects Nordic to honor that as well. Take a first service, or prop upgrade. Those things should probably not be honored by The new Hallett. IDK. All I know is what I witnessed 3 years ago, and ever since, has been nothing short of amazing.

This sounds to me like a person that is never happy. Do you ever go on yelp and a place is all 4 and 5 stars and there is one lone 1 star review. Then you look up their other reviews and they are nothing but 1 stars tgat bitch about everything. This lady reminds of tgat type of person...just a miserable person. The type you see berating someone and you look at her husband who just sits there like a deflated shell of a man and you think to yourself...that poor SOB has to deal with her everyday.

That isn't Thane and if it is even remotely true it was calculated and someone they didn't want to do business with. Every time I talk to Thane
I can tell he has that big smile on his face. He helped me through a real big problem and really found a way to keep me and my family in boating. Did he make some money I hope so, but it was way beyond the average level of customer service.

I don't care what business your in everyone has clients that just can't be satisfied and sometimes they need to be told to go away because working with them just isn't worth the brain damage. And taking something like this to FB is a clear sign and not how grownup's get things done.

At the end of the day, Hallett @ Nordic will honor all the 1 year bow to stern warranty items, brought to the shop for repairs.
Any hull issues, via a 7 year hull warranty will have to be processed through the original issuing Hallett warranty company (gut tells me Nordic will assist anyone with that paperwork).

Thane and Randy are stand up guys and will go above and beyond to make things right, however this lady posting that BS comment will most likely not get the service level she wants because she started a shit storm that was not necessary!
