Pancho is now moving to the inside - all new stringers floors and adding a bulkhead. We decided to leave the inner stringers open in the engine compartment and adding balsa between. Leaning towards all red interior gel.

Long block is almost complete. Waiting on shaft rockers and pan. Custom throttle body should be in next week then the fun part of plumbing and wiring a turbo motor begins. 565 EFI TT with custom billet wheel turbos and Motec M150 computer.

New stringers are in and templating for new bulkhead. The bulkhead is getting a few changes and floors/bulkhead should be set in the next week or two. Really happy with Pancho’s work.

Looking good!

You said "template" so I will just suggest the possibility that inside corners on the opening get a healthy radius. Sharp corners = bad.

Pancho is the MAN!

Bulkhead was adjusted to your specs 😎. Drivers side is slightly wider to hide electric steering pump behind it.

New turbos and dual port wastegate actuators. @cj222 helped make some actuator adapter plates!

OOOOH say some more about those waste gates. What do they do better than the standard single ports from Carson?

And damn that @cj222 dude is one hard working son of a gun, he's got his hands in basically every v-drive thread in this place. Does nice work too.

I am using turbosmart dual port actuators. Dual port allows boost control for different tunes utilizing a MAC valve. This setup utilizes pressure to bottom of port so you can increase spring rate in exchange increasing boost. The top port bleeds off through the MAC valve. The standard Brummett actuator doesn’t have a sealed bottom/underneath of diaphragm so you are only feeding pressure to top pushing down diaphragm when it reaches spring rate. His new dual ports are very nice but pricey. If you wanted to turn the standard into dual port I think you could sleeve the bottom of housing/actuator rod and add port to bottom housing. His dual port has a larger diaphragm also but not sure if that is as important as having a decent seal on both bottom and top of diaphragm. Im shooting for a 7lb and 12lb tune.

This is pretty interesting and points out how little I know about this stuff. When I was building my sled I just called Carson and said "need turbos". He asked a few questions and said send cash...

Is the block at the top of the schematic the intake manifold?

How is the MAC actuated to achieve the higher boost?

Not knowing the specifics of your motor, does 12 psi require race gas or something other than 91 octane?

Like the others have said, thanks for bringing us along. I love this kinda stuff.

Besides just changing out your springs if you wanted to change boost quickly I think you can bleed off your top port line through some sort of manual or electric valve that would provide similar results (backing off some of the boost to the actuator so you produce more boost to the intake) "BUT" Im no pro! From my research there are many ways of plumbing the actuator air lines. The MAC valve is electronic and will be controlled by my Motec ECU.

Thanks for making this thread and continuing to post!

Such a good looking boat! Makes me think of a slightly more modern 24 Schiada!

Thank you!
That is the plan! I have most of the rigging hardware made or in process so will be pushing to get it finished by end of this year. :) Will have some updates soon!
