So looking at your engine porn what temp sensors are you using?

Also saw a cam sensor are you going sequential?

Cam sync - no distributor
All right, I had to ask Chat GPT why I would need one, because, well, I'm a carburated dinosaur...

Here's the summary:

"In a high-performance marine engine, where reliability and power delivery are critical, a cam sync sensor ensures maximum efficiency, power, and engine longevity.

Are you setting up a new EFI system or upgrading an existing setup?"

Love this thread and look forward to the updates. Keep em coming.

New efi system
Motec computer M150
Motec pdm 15
Motec dash
Injector dynamics injectors
Cam sync
Crank trigger 12 magnets
Individual coils
Boost controller
- was a learning curve as it’s my first efi and still feel like I don’t know anything so leaving it up to the pros

Motor is coming together nicely but still a lot of parts to make then wiring harness and dyno.
Might have missed it earlier in the thread but I see a Kinsler 450 pump and EFI? Coolness. Could you tell us more about what I’m guessing is your surge/supply tank wrapped in plastic in this pic? Looks like a regulator built into the top? Are you running the pump supply under some pressure to help with Vapor pressure? I’m getting into rigging my fuel system soon for mechanical injection.

I have a standard high volume feed pump on the block that feeds the tank you see wrapped in plastic. That tank feeds the high pressure kinsler. The tank has built in regulator and a return port back to my fuel tanks.

Kinda what I figured looking at it. I guess what I’m asking is if you’re supplying a slight positive pressure to the Kinsler pump? Being EFI your injectors could deal with that but me being mechanical there’s other steps involved if i approach the system this way…

A crank position sensor alone can only tell you crank position, not engine phase. You have 2 TDC events, Exhaust and Compresion. The cam sync gives the ECU that extra piece of info as to what phase the engine is on.

If you have even tooth pattern on the crank then the cam sync also tells you what cylinder is coming active.

vapor separation tank to process vapor out of the fuel before it gets passed into the fuel rails. Absolutely critical piece of equipment that many people fail to use and then burn up motors from lean conditions.
