Shitty pic, but the beast was finally in action on the AZ computer chip project. Still amazed at the scale of this project and the number of booms in the air. Appears to be around 50 light plants on site too. I enjoy watching this take shape.

Is this up off the 17 north of Phoeni? If so we went by on Monday. Impressive to see all the cranes on the west of the 17.

Yes, that's it. Trying to bring tech to the area in big way. Really cool, before the techies show up they have an army of blue collar people out there.

That's absolutely badass!
I have also now seen a boom lift that would scare the living hell out of me!
Yeh. I don't like going to wind tower erections. The wind is howling out there, obviously. There are huge 6.2MW turbines going up at 110 meters (360') at about 200 tons. Whats next in the Midwest is 136 meter towers (446'). It freaks me out.

Looking at it all wrong. You just need to get into BASE jumping. Work would pay for the travel, and every shop will remember the sales rep that jumps ;)

Why doesn't Liebherr ship the empty counterweight frames to the states and cast the concrete here, instead of paying to ship it across the Atlantic?

Queuing up the next project. 30,000 foot facilities building.

Soil samples being taken for the geo engineering. Two of the borings (at 50 feet) being perc tested for use with the dry well design for storm run off.

Craig, I love your crane threads. Always badass and super interesting. I‘ve done a lot of work with Bragg and others over the years and I’m kinda surprised they didn’t use a helicopter to set this Power Pole? I’m sure a crane of this size with it’s support equipment and swampers has got to cost a whole hellva lot more than helo. This would’ve been a fun job.

Very nice. Love the Bragg boys. Extremely professional and they get after it. 4 generations of crane dudes

Only explanation might be that the helo prices are insane. That, and the capacities of the helo aren't nearly what a mobile crane is.

Thanks for the props brother

Once the towers are up there are ladders going all the way up.

Yep. It can be a long climb up or short ride down. The nacelle on top has a hatch door or two…

Is the guy on the blade running two lines? I've done a little repelling, but nothing with no wall...is it like a fall arrest setup?
Think it's a secondary if things go south on line one. If my memory serves me correct.

Difference between men and boys is the size of their sand box toys!!

I love this stuff, wish my boys were into the "building" thing.
They want to go to college and get white color jobs, what is today's youth coming to!!
I have had my fill and headed out to pasture, but sure do like living through you guys!

My daughter is now in college, going for the white collar deal. When she was 13 or 14 though, she was looking at one of my friends sites, and the crane he was on. She asked point blank what he made. Both her and my wife about fell over 😂

My daughter asked me later, "why so much?" I told her there is training, lots of it, and then experience and being actually good at it. Then I also told her how serious it is. It's not only the equipment cost, or the load, it's the structures you can damage or the guys you can injure or kill. I don't think she thought of the responsibility that came with it.

I have two boys coming up. We'll see which way they head!

Well, they aren't technically mine, but I sell them to men.

I passed two semi's yesterday. Each one had ONE counter wieght on each trailer.

It's hard to even imagine how much it must cost to have one of those cranes on a job...
