Hey Hula, you got all these awesome packages from all over gods creation being sent to you with plates and stickers from all over, but am I gonna have to be the Cheeselander to provide an old cheese land plate to add to the tiki bar? I know I got an old one off an old truck around somewhere. I’ll even nail that bitch to the bar myself!

Last day. Checked in for our flight home from right here.

It’s been a relaxing 5 days, it’ll be good to go home and sleep in our own bed, just hope I can get up the driveway when we get home, it’s snowed twice since we left and I’m the snowplow guy.

:eek:NOOOOOOOO!
Plowing Monday, put it reverse and it went bam. Happened a few years ago. The reverse band breaks. My trans guy will make it good again. It was 5 or 6 years ago it happened. That little truck has pushed a ton of snow this winter.

What happened!!!

I’m guessing Frank’s
Yahtzee! I have a light sanding to do, then a small amount of filling them mud is done. Prime and paint in the a.m., blast up to Ray's shop by 1, load the uppers and start laying underlayment.
This crooked shitbox cottage has me at my wits end. Taping and mudding is a frustrating deal.......

Started a little project tonight. I’ll get the cabinets leveled and tied down tomorrow and hopefully get the form built and ready to pour a countertop as well.

If I remember tomorrow I’ll throw up some pics of the room I built in my shop this past spring.

I didn’t paint the cabinets tonight. Did that over the weekend.

I may hide the wiring later. Undecided at this point.

And yes. The Air compressor is mounted over the doorway. Saw someone else had done that about 10 years ago and his hasn’t fell yet. My intention for it was to be temporary and I was going to put it on top of my room, but I think I’m going to leave it. Flame away!

I’m interested in the poured countertop; post pics please.

Also, where else would you put the compressor? I’m doing that and adding an insulated box with a vent to keep the noise down. I’m told rubber mounts on the feet or making a pallet suspend on some big block valve springs will minimize vibration transfer as well. Food for thought.

Oh, and mornin fellers :D

Heading back to the great white north this afternoon. Not looking forward to walking across the entire ATW parking lot to unbury our ride. That’s always a slap in the face when returning from someplace warm. After that we’ll be good though.

Make it a great day, boys.

Here was my test run.

This one I’m pouring now will be a little different as the side that is up was in the bottom of the form in the picture. It had a few air pockets that I could have filled in after the fact but a choose not to. The bottom of it doesn’t have any holes and since this on will be poured in place I don’t expect it to have visible air pockets. Get a low RPM drill, and some concrete grinding pads. Took me forever to find a variable speed drill/buffer that I could keep under 3000 rpms.

I’m going to follow your lead on this and get the wife to get a table she would like on the patio when she’s out thrift shopping. Then she can be involved and see the process and results.

Once it’s polished, do you seal it? What about in a kitchen where you’re preparing food?

Obviously I haven’t done my reading yet, but I will.

Thanks for sharing.

I actually used a “semi-transparent” concrete stain/sealer on this at first, only problem it wasn’t transparent at all, looked like paint so I ground the stain back off.

Wife was at the store and I told her to get me some clear sealer and she brought home “Thompson’s” water seal do i used it. Granted it’s not in a kitchen so they make something better but this worked OK for me. There are some good lengthy video on youtube for guys doing it in kitchens and talk about sealing it for food prep but I didn’t pay much attention to that part of it.

I like it so much I think my work bench is going to get it. I have 2 other tables I built and will have a Welding table soon that I can use to bang on shit.

Also that test pour I did wasn’t the best bag of concrete. It was old and some parts were already damp. I did mix some Portland cement in with it along with some wire mesh.

And I picked this up at Harbor Freight over the weekend. The 20% super coupon works so for $170 I’ll give it a try.

So Hula, sorry for cluttering up your thread but I figured you would enjoy this since we both like to build things, and maybe point out some shit I did wrong. A bunch of pictures here, but this is the room I built in my shop last year.

I'm currently finishing up the electric, installing a mini split, and then will get the insulation up, bathroom finished (already have a working toilet and decide if I'm going to sheet rock it or go another route. I'd like to do cedar plank walls in there, I think it would be badass.

And I got the trim up around the top. Best pic I could find at the moment.

Pulled water from the back of the property, and ran power to my out buildings back there at the same time.

Iv'e always wanted to pick one of these up to use as a meat tenderizer. Throw 10 tritips in and a gallon or two of marinade... Just lookeed at HF website and they have a 1 1/4 cubic ft version.... Wheels are a turning.
