I only have a 600 gallon tank. It does come in real handy, as I had electrical issues a couple years back and lost use of the well pump. They sell insulated tanks, but never seen them in the southern climates. We've never had an issue here though. Two neighbors have 600's in their pump houses. Oddly enough, both of them have had to put heat lamps and timers in, as the insulation was not very good. I've seen a few installations that were split, one tank in pump house, and one in garage. The idea being redundancy, and both were valved to be drawn from and filled independently or together.
There is a heat lamp in the pump shed and that should suffice there.

I am going to check them out.

Screw that. Get one so if your well goes down you got water.

Are you on a community well or your own?
On my own well. What kind of quotes have you been getting? Maybe I can put it in a shack of some sort.

I have a good size well building. Guys can move around in there and work. The range I am looking for to provide the parts, lay the pad (crushed limestone) etc is between 12-14K I will be getting another quote. That is for a 5K Gal holding tank that goes outside of the pump room

Guy just came by and picked up the dad dog. Said its a pure bred Pyrenees and the pups are for sale. Very well mannered dog and told him we will take him at any point. Kind of sad to see him go..he had all sorts of potential.

Oh well

My Great Pyrenees was the greatest dog ever. I miss him every day. They are a great breed.

…Had a huge galvanized metal tank whenI lived in Big Tujunga Canyon… Can’t remember how big it was gallon wise… But what a God send when the pump went out…And they will😳… It didn’t need to be insulated against freezing… didn’t need heat lamps …So Cal weather👍
… A large holding tank is pretty much a must…

Bought a cheap ass Ranger to run around and do chores in. Not pretty but it works. Lol

Ordered 72 tons of base today. Delivering Monday. Might need one more 24t truck. Will see after the drop it off. It will be here in a corner until I get a tractor to spread and compact. After that is done then I will order the same tonnage of top and get the "pads" and driveway done

Today Went with a 3kgal well

holding tank instead of the 5k. Added a water softner and ro system as well. Came in total about what the 5k tank would have cost me.

Also ordered the interior paint job today. My son and I were going to do it along with hanging drywall but we were getting at each others last nerve. Decided to bring someone else in to do it.

Ohhhh....finished cutting the grass as well as running the trimmer and took Phx to the park for a walk.

Cut power in all the outbuildings until we can get that addressed properly. New wire and conduit needs run for sure.

Ho hum ;). Never going to be a dull moment here. Lol

Today took a delivery of 72 tons of base (crushed limestone with fines) for a few rv pads and also expanding the driveway. I am probably going to need another 24-48 tons. I want the base to be about 4" compacted.

After that I will add the same tonnage for the topper and compact that.

This will solve some mud issues when it rains. The mud out here is no joke.

Need an 84” smooth drum roller to make quick work of your compaction.

Love the property! Looks beautiful!

Thank you. Thats the plan

Although one day in Cave Creek I had 560tons delivered and LuckyStrike was driving the skid steer like a bat out of hell. He compacted it all without any roller and it did the job. He aint your ave bear working though. Lol

So...making some progress. Interior Painting is ongoing and the water tank, water softener and RO system are going in today and tomorrow. I was going with a 5k gal holding tank but went with a 3k gal instead. Money and being practical helped the decision. The trench is for the electrical from the power pole to the well/tank

By the way multiple people have told me these cedar trees are great for controlling insects. Have had a few people mention if I do stump grinding on them to take the saw dust and spread it outside around the house. It will stop them from crossing the cedar dust. Who knew! I am becoming a repurpose mofo ;)

So....painting is almost done. Water holding tank and clean up of the well building is done. Excellent job by the contractor. My son convinced me to buy this stuff to put in for flooring. Picked it up today (83 friggin boxes of it) and it will start getting installed by us as soon as the painters are done. Each box is 35lbs.

After that its onto replacing the front deck with the composite decking material. Us doing that as well.

After that its expanding the driveway and adding a few oversized RV pads.

Furniture all gets delivered Saturday. Will be nice to sit on something other than a beach chair or work stool. Lol

My back hurts just thinking about it all. Lol

Making steady progress and we now have our BBQ and Blackstone for cooking.

Its coming together pretty quickly I must say.

Texas has limestone everywhere so it’s Fairly cheap. Here in California I just rehabed one of my rentals we use decomposed granite (DG). Limestone is way better and probably cheaper in Texas.

Mike....72 tons and that isnt all of the base I need. Then I need to double it for the top.

Probably end up using 200 tons

Just for comparison in Cave Creek I brought in about a thousand tons of fill and CG. It was a hillside property though. One day 28 20 ton trucks with AJ spreading and compacting

So....I need more power than the 200A out here. Called and asked BEC how much to upgrade to 400A svc. By the time its said and done probably in the 10k range as it cant be aerial, etc.

So.....I have this other pole out here in the back behind the garage. Can I use this and just have another service connection? Yes sir you can ;). Jackpot!

WINNING!

I will take all power from the garage and run it to the "new" panel. Also a couple of shop buildings. Might put some RV spots back there. Not sure on that though.

Trimmed all this up. 3-4" growth and no idea of rocks or whatever underneath. Thinking of adding crushed limestone and 3-4 rv spots. Its on the lower portion of the property and could easily accomidate 6-7. No need to get crazy. Lol. Still can add 2-3 on the upper property for friends and family.

Might as well produce income

Looks great Tom, seems like you are having a lot of fun making it your home. If we point the overland truck towards my brothers place some day we might stop in for a beer.

So had a discussion with a neighbor today. The property below the cross fence the prev owner was going to put in RV spaces and that is why the power pole was put in.

They also told me he had a huge bird building up front that burned completely down. The trees were catching on fire but got put down. Claimed it was an electrical fire. Crazy

Decking begins. We had to reinforce the bottom. Had to cut an oak stump down a foot also. Wtf

Will put some end caps on all ends

Thought about replacing all wood underneath but just did the reinforce

Put in Trex Composite decking. Had a bunch of 20' boards delivered for 20. from Lowes. Paid 49. per and the local lumber yard wanted 108. per. Ahhhh...no
