Sounds like no.

Trust me, that part of town.....

Gunshots aren't exactly out of the norm. Probably sounded like business as usual.

Brian

My office is about a mile from IRC. Patrol units were blazing at 11. Nothing out of the norm. If it weren't for the update on my phone, none of us would have paid any attention. It's almost every week there is serious police activity surrounding the area.

Bud, I have no doubt.

I lived on 36th, and had to drive through that area enough. I NEVER went down there without heat.

Took me 5 years to get out of that hood and back where I came from. Took another three years to get out from underneath that house.

I don't miss that shit, at all.

The last two or three years we were there is when the economy tanked and crime spiked. We lived in a "good" part of town, and there were still gunshots going off every other night. I fucking hated that town, city and mess.

So not one person at that shooting had a concealed gun? This was in San Berdo where it's apparently easy to get a ccw right?
We've dealt with the Riverside branch of IRC for close to 20 years with our oldest child.Last time I was there I noticed the gun free zone sign.I imagine the SB branch is the same.

See my past post - there is a news clip with Stephanoplous interviewing a guy who heard and saw the commotion, walked out of his office with his gun, took a position behind a water truck - then watched as the shooter drove by him. That's a top-level summary, I'm sure there is more to it, but ir raises that issue of what to do if you are packing, and what responsibility do you have to others...if any?

I have to say, in that situation, the way you described it, One, no time for a shot, Two, is he the target?

Not much anyone can do at that moment.

Third, to be a "good samaritan" you have to be sure you are doing the right thing.

You mean "I" and not "you", right?

"45ACP. Because having to shoot twice, is just silly"

I love my 45's. The Ruger LC380 is one of the most concealed....Especially when it needs to be discreete with fucking Cali's bullshit laws (that are in my opinion, fully against out rights)

I've talked to multiple people that would know... The 380 with the G2 rounds will be effective.

You just gotta know how to aim a bit :cool

No responsibility to do anything except protect you and your own. You have the responsibility though to make sure you don't hurt any innocents.

Now, that is legally. Me personally if I can take the shot I will. I'm called to stand up for the innocent and weak.

But also realize with a permit you are not a cop. It's only to stop imminent danger and you better be able to articulate that in court.

In my opinion, in all cases of citizens with heat, carrying with a CCW or not, have the primary duty to: #1 protect themselves and theirs, then #2, see if they can help someone else.

Otherwise, see #1.

Links aren't working...

Just watched a video however on policeone.com

Really stand up officers working on that situation when they were escorting people in the building to safety. One officer tells everyone he'll be taking the bullet for them before anyone else. [emoji106]🏼

Does anyone know which group rented the conference room?

Was the shooter a current or former employee of the center, or was he part of the group renting the room, or both?

Although the chase made this thread great, we need more details.. :grumble:

Apparently the male half was a Muslim reading in a news article. Not sure if it's confirmed true or not but he would leave work go home pray, then return to work.

Not a cop. Yet anyway.

My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would have me help others.

If anyone has been paying attention around here they'll know I'm down to talk about that but I do not want to detract from this thread. If someone wants a religious discussion with me about this then start another thread or PM me.

Here's the latest that I read: shooter was an employee of the group renting the venue, was at the party acting very nervous then suddenly left. A person of his same description returned to the scene in some sort of tactical gear and opened fire.

He was a devout Muslim, and was a born in the US Libyan and had traveled to Saudi Arabia recently.

His brother is a similar name but with a different middle name, and works for a tax agency. He was at work when the shooting occurred.

The shooter and his wife had a six month old baby, which was left with the grandmother today.

Please do not take this as accurate, it is simply an article that I read from a link on Facebook. I have many personal views on the situation, but it's not the time for that.

You can label me a racist if you want.. If there's any Allah Akbar shit involved in this (which I have very little doubt there is), I think that we should as a society (not as a government) pretty much push Islam out of our borders.

Anybody got a link to the Scanner Feed?

RD

RD, You stuck you neck out far and early in this event.

As it turns out, this guy travels to Saudi Arabia this year, and brings back an Arab wife. He and his Arab wife shoot up the company Holiday Party/Potluck.

:bowdown::bowdown: ;)

Lot I would say to that but..

Don't worry about dirtying the cape around these parts..

I wouldn't ask or want someone to take a bullet for me.. Just give me a fair chance against the opposition is all I want. FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.

This is what happens when you disarm the population.. You get bear cats (police vehicle?) and useless track vehicles with blast shields on them to the tune of millions.. When it could have cost dollars..

This guy was a county employee for 5 years... Hell, he worked with those at the meeting/party... Just shows, to ME anyway, what some people will do to "fit in" before they go nuts..... So, lets let a few 100K more in to dig deep into our society until they have enough here to wage a real war against the infidels.... It's coming folks, of that you can be sure.... 10-20 years means nothing to these fanatics...It may take them an entire generation, but it's coming...

I can't believe the POS POTUS taking to the news encouraging tighter gun control bf he had the facts. A local POS former Congressman was doing the same thing on last nights local news. One side is always going to use these events to their advantage, some will want more gun control, others will want less

I guarantee gun sales and concealed carry applications are getting a boost this month

Local station here in Mass just ran a story saying sales are up this month, not everyone wants to be helpless.

I just heard that all the guns were purchased legally. So what is the answer? I will go ahead and say it was Terrorism. They had this planned and knew exactly what they were doing.

CNN reporting 2 of the guns were traced to the third person that ran from the police shootout.

Anyone else catch the interview on channel 11 with the social worker that was at the scene?

Unbelievably calm and professional, like she'd been in the same situation a dozen times. Very impressive.

My wife just got news that one of the dead(murdered) is from Arrowhead, leaves a wife and six children behind. The man has a boy in my sons age in high school. I just can't imagine how this family is holding together, now that their father, and husband was stolen from them. We live in a very sheltered little town that I never could have believed that something like this is possible, and here it is, right down the hill.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but did anybody hear the audio of the cop who was escorting people through the building.

I'm paraphrasing but it goes something like, "I'll take a bullet before you do!"

That's policing at its finest. I'm damn proud of the LEO's. They took the fight to the suspects. Much different than years ago where they set up a perimeter and sort of waited for direction. Seems the tactic nowadays is to rush to the sounds of gun fire and victims. [emoji106]

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department prides itself on being the last of the cowboys. God bless them! I know firsthand that they have some of the most well-trained men and women in law enforcement. Period. Other law enforcement agencies nationwide should take note of how well they handled a truly horrific incident. We have seen time and time again how they have handled unique incidents and each time, they have done so swiftly, appropriately and accurately.

The deputy heard over the scanner who was involved in the gunfight with the now deceased shitbags sounded INCREDIBLE over the radio. He did an outstanding job!!! If you haven't heard that radio traffic, wait til you do.

The dispatcher who started sending units to IRC for the initial incident never skipped a beat either. She nailed it. Her ability to relay pertinent information quickly and accurately is part of the reason that entire incident came to a swift conclusion.

Yesterday was just another shining example of how that department deals with assholes. And I can guarantee you, they will only get better and they will handle the next critical incident more efficiently. Nicely done SBCSD! ;)
