Thats what all the newbie Havasu resident say until they have to dodge snowbirds driving on the wrong side of the street and wonder why it takes forever to get from one side of Havasu to the other side on the 95. šŸ˜†
I have yet to actually see any of that since I retired here. They are actually no worse than the CA tourist.

Doesnā€™t happen too often, but it does happen, if it werenā€™t for that pesky island down the middle of Main Street.šŸ¤£

I am completely the opposite... I go to places like Dallas/Plano, Chicago, most places around the country for work....and I always look forward to getting home...landing at John Wayne....taking 55 down to Newport / Superior and dropping down onto PCH with a view of the ocean, sea breeze's with the windows down... cruising up PCH to HB, parking the car at home, walking to downtown or pier and getting a beer somewhere with a view of the sunset and feeling comfortable knowing I am home..
Idaho and Tennessee are all of the things mentioned but I get this growing up in Newport Beach. I really miss the beach! Iā€™m surprised Newscum hasnā€™t come up with taxing the ocean breeze yet! Waitā€¦.did I say that out loud...

I lived what your going through . We went to parker or the desert almost every other week just to get away . We were running away from the valley as much as we were running to things we love . Being gone now for 4 years i agree with i wish we left sooner and i wish we had moved further east . Life is 100 percent better.

Have you tried riding your motorcycle in the desert, mountain biking, going to a car show, golfing in the beautiful weather, or heading down to the beach... to help you forget about the local stabbings?

This strategy allegedly works per the "I Love California" thread.
Just got back from a two day motorcycle trip havenā€™t seen a stabbing yet but itā€™s only Wednesday.

CALIF.

Come And Live In Florida.
The beaches are nicer, IMO. After my second trip to FL, I never went back in the cold water, violent waves, and sticky sand of SoCal again. Some people obviously love it, but I will take Florida beaches any day of the week. Less crowds also, from what I've seen.

I always laugh when people talk about traffic in Havasu. Our place is on the south end of town and I can get to Walmart ( if I ever wanted ) in 15-20 minutes on a bad day It's like 11-12 miles away.

I have been living in So Cal traffic daily for the 36 years and IMO Havasu traffic is like a spa day šŸ˜€

A few weeks ago I left Chatsworth at 7:30 and got to Brentwood at 9:45. 20 miles 2:15 minutes. Such bullshit.

It's sad you think it taking 15 to 20 minutes and stopping at 15 traffic lights is normal too . Haha

Nah, I exaggerate a little.

But it definitely isn't just the Tenderloin is SF and Skid Row in LA anymore. That shit is spreading.

I do appreciate a few spots in CA. I won't deny that. Hopefully they can keep those clean.

A few? Lol

CA is HUGE.

There are a few bad spots, but most of CA is pristine.

And that's what I don't understand...

Why is everyone PACKED into a few small places, when there is So much room to spread out?

We all know the truth though...

2 to 5 acre properties don't bring in the tax dollars. Condos and track homes do, so they stack as many people as they can in one place, with no room to spread out at all.

It's sad. šŸ˜”

This is exactly how San Diego County was turned into an Orange County as Orange County was evolving into an extension of LA.
It's also very sadly what's behind the most unfortunate rapidly spreading desecration of Lake Havasu. šŸ˜–

These crybaby threads are ridiculous!

I've been open minded about "considering" a relocation out of California and I've solicited suggestions here multiple times on several threads. None of you have convinced me that you live in a better place. I've been to and in some cases spent considerable time in Florida, Nevada, Idaho, Louisiana, Arizona, Utah, Oregon Washington, Colorado, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi and Hawaii. I've found either horrible humidity, frozen mult- month winters, heat like the Sahara, lack of Hot Rod Car culture, lack of good surfing beaches (not Hawaii) and I've seen bums in all of those states.

So fire away! Where can I move with multiple National caliber motocross tracks within 90 miles, 5 ski resorts within 90 miles, 100's of miles of beaches, 200+ car shows a month year round, 3 mtn bike parks, 4 amusement parks, 4 hour access to the River, Vegas and Glamis? I'll wait...again...

Everything but Mexican food, hiking, and off roading is better.

Beaches especially if they're private, are awesome!

Yeah as I said 36 years in So cal traffic makes anything else relaxing.

Monday my driving numbers were 10 hours 48 minutes and 174 miles. Cypress to Diamond bar to Pomona to Long Beach back to diamond bar back to cypress etc. I can hold my breath for 15 minutes.

I just looked and it's roughly 9 signals to Home Depot and 10 to Walmart. Honesty I never even go that far North. I shop at Bashes and use Havasu hardware downtown. I occasionally use Lowes if I want a big box hardware store.

If you purposfully seek out things to justify your decision to leave CA, you will find them.
But - Gas is 5.49 at other stations, you don't have to buy it at that one
I was gonna say I can blow that out of the water on Rodeo Drive lol.

Had to google studio city. Thatā€™s expensive
Itā€™s overrated lol. Itā€™s Beverly Hills ā€œadjacentā€.

It will never lose value but like everything there are ā€œlevelsā€ to Hollywood.

But I canā€™t disagree that you are right next door to the ā€œrightā€ zip code.

I think true happiness contains more than a zip code and address.

I rarely go towards LA. Thatā€™s a whole different world. When people say Orange County is like LA they be trippin.

Since I've got the new lab pup, I've been walking her 6 miles a day, . . .3 in the morning & 3 in the evening.
Walking around so much & taking different routes, I've learned a lot about my neighorhood (south east huntington beach).
Most everyone around here is a complete moron in one shape or another.

I purposely do little tests to see how people will react.
While walking towards someone w/ my dog on the sidewalk, I will purposely go out in the street / bike lane to let the pedestrian have the sidewalk to themselves.
Not one person has said, hello, or thank you.

Bikers, especially E-Bikers will come at ME while riding on the sidewalk (yeah, not the bike lane), and I'll do the same thing of getting out into the street . . . not 1 'thanks' to date.
I had one guy walk past me in the opposite direction walking with his dog , he looked all pinched-up. . . I smiled & said 'good morning' , no reply,

One morning I had some mexi-cholo dude way out in front of me with a pitbull on a leash start screaming at me from like a 100 yards away, I kept walking towards them . . . both our dogs on harnesses . . . his going bonkers.
I walked out into the street to pass them and started to jog a little to speed up the pass . . . . he yells at me, "My dog will will fucking kill your dog man, and bite your ass too mother fucker" !!!! . . . . I yell back, "I'm sorry, that sucks . . .mines just a puppy and wants to play"!!! šŸ˜†

And as far as the cars go . . . why does every single dickhead with a V6 think that an exhaust will make his or her car sound better??? . . . news flash . . .it sounds like a dry fart pal.
Oh . . . and to any porsche, audi, bmw, lambo, maserati owners out there . . . your car sounds like complete ass with the exhaust . . . go back to stock bonehead.

It's the land of 'L A M E '. . . . L-ook A-t M-e E-veryone !!!

Ironically . . . of ALL THE PEOPLE I've passed or been passed by, the 'ROAD BIKERS' of all people have been the coolest . . . they give me a courtesy 'On Your Left', or 'Cool Dog', . . . or 'Hey Puppy' . . . . so go figure !!!!! šŸ¤£šŸ¤ŖšŸ¤Ŗ

Maybe you should say hello first instead of waitng for the world to kiss your ass. Lol

Those ebikers are likely Riverdave inmates so thereā€™s that. šŸ˜‚

Iā€™m not so sure you can accurately assess all of your neighbors based on your dog walks I mean, how friendly are you?

I take my 2 dogs 5 times a week to the dog parks in Upland and Rancho Cucamonga. If I walk in and keep to myself, most people wonā€™t say anything and keep to themselves. If I walk in and say good morning itā€™s usually reciprocated. The difference between you and me, is Iā€™m not so quick to assume everyone in all those neighboring houses are a bunch of morons. šŸ˜‚

Maybe youā€™re lacking in basic social skills for all we know. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
