Do
thanks everyone for reminding me how much I don't miss southern California....................my front yard for 30+ years now and the weather is nice.

Do tell gramps! Maybe you found paradise! No crazy humidity, or frozen winters? How’s the hot rod car culture? Any beaches or ski resorts nearby? Any national level motocross tracks in the area? Please, give us the details! 😎

Wait until the snowbirds show up. 😂😂😂
I knew a guy from Chula Vista, and just like you, he was always "Pissing and Moaning" about the Marines, Navy, and all other Military personnel. Stupid "FUCK" didn't have a Clue how much money the Military brings into the San Diego area.

I guess it is a "California Thing"

I lived in the valley my first thirty years and can’t stand going there anymore although I went to cupids for lunch today. I hated going there but loved my lunch.
We’re getting a Dog Haus out here.

Ha Ha. I know exactly how much money the snowbirds bring in. I started renting to snowbirds every winter over 35 years ago. 🤣 🤣🤣🤣🤣They are cheap when it comes to tipping though. :p:p

I always laugh when people talk about traffic in Havasu. Our place is on the south end of town and I can get to Walmart ( if I ever wanted ) in 15-20 minutes on a bad day It's like 11-12 miles away.

I have been living in So Cal traffic daily for the 36 years and IMO Havasu traffic is like a spa day 😀
Paying for a lot split at the surveyor in Havasu last year the receptionist commented on my credit card . She said " I moved here a few years ago and just loooove the slow pace and lack of traffic . You must just be SOOOO excited to be able to move here and enjoy the small town and lack of crowds " .. I said" ma'am the traffic here is worse than anything in all of san luis obispo county, Ca. , let alone my town of 1,800 people on it's worst day". She looked at me like I'd just bumped my head 😂

These crybaby threads are ridiculous!

I've been open minded about "considering" a relocation out of California and I've solicited suggestions here multiple times on several threads. None of you have convinced me that you live in a better place. I've been to and in some cases spent considerable time in Florida, Nevada, Idaho, Louisiana, Arizona, Utah, Oregon Washington, Colorado, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi and Hawaii. I've found either horrible humidity, frozen mult- month winters, heat like the Sahara, lack of Hot Rod Car culture, lack of good surfing beaches (not Hawaii) and I've seen bums in all of those states.

So fire away! Where can I move with multiple National caliber motocross tracks within 90 miles, 5 ski resorts within 90 miles, 100's of miles of beaches, 200+ car shows a month year round, 3 mtn bike parks, 4 amusement parks, 4 hour access to the River, Vegas and Glamis? I'll wait...again...
Why would anybody try to convince you? You claim to be happy where you’re at, why are you looking for something different? California seems to suit you. We all find our own utopia. 😎

It’s just a different mindset, I am well aware of what traffic is. For me it’s just changed a lot, not quite the sleepy little town. It was 30+ years ago.🤣

@Jefftowz , you and I are both kinda stuck here because our businesses are here and we have built our brands by being the guy that picks up the phone and shows up. Its a curse and a blessing. Im on a 3 yesr plan at this point.

Vanowen and DeSoto across from the Fire Station. Sad deal.

Why not? With all these folks who have found better places to live what's wrong with sharing that? Let me answer for you... they can't! We all have different views, interest's, hobbies and experiences. A place that suites me may not suite you or the next guy. If you don't like California fine but remember it's still my home and several others in here and we have a right to defend it.

You don't hear us Californians trash talking other places. It's always the same people spinning the same old broken record. I'm at the point where ok, if where you've moved is so superior, let's hear what makes it so great! Go ahead and convince me and anyone else why we should leave. If you can't then stfu.

You sure seem stirred up about light hearted banter I’ve been listening to people tell me how shitty Lake Havasu is for 30 years. Let it go if you like it where you live stay I don’t have to convince you of shit.

If you went to all of those place and didn't find what you like then it is best you stay where you are. Just because those places are better for us doesn't mean they are better for everyone.

I don't know if a 4-hour drive each way to use your toys (unless there is road work or an accident-might be 6 hours) is necessarily a reason to brag, but for the rest of it, if those are your biggest priorities, then definitely stay put. In fact, one of the reasons we left is because we had to drive 4 hours to use our boat and 3 hours to use our off-road toys. At the end of the day, it's all about priorities and interests. Some people value fishing, hiking, and boating all within 10 minutes of their front door with no one at the launch and no launch fees, towns where people are kind and polite, less traffic (or no traffic), front row parking in front of the movie theater, rodeos and circle track racing 15 minutes away with a $10 entry fee, lower cost of living, less taxes, and a relaxed lifestyle over the things you listed above. But if those things are the most important to you, then you are in the right place. There is something for everyone in our beautiful country. I applaud you for checking out the other locations and realizing they are not for you. Now you don't have to wonder.

I don't think anyone is trying to convince you to move to their state. They are just explaining why they like where they live or why they left. I know I don't feel any need to convince you to move.

There is a huge, big blue lake that we live minutes from, it's pretty cool, island hopping and fishing are minutes away.. I can go on world class hikes right from my house and bike to the beach to watch the sunset. Lots of local lakes to catch morning glass around here. Yeah, most of the off-roading (not all) is about 1.5 hours away. And let's talk about the amazing weather in CA. No reason to be a Snowbird when you have the weather we have to do all this stuff year round. I know Lake Havasu is paradise but we do ok too.

Sounds nice, but I thought I read you were elsewhere ? 😁 ;) I think that having the ability to enjoy two places, each with distinctive climates and activities would be awesome. 👍
Was certainly the plan we set into motion almost 20 years ago, unfortunately as the saying goes "Shit Happens" --- or as the old Yiddish adage goes "Man Plans, God's Laugh" 🥴

We can still vacation in those places though, and often that's even better than having the responsibility of maintaining a 2nd residence there.

Both places we live have all of those things (except the movie theater parking), and they are not in California. Again, it's all about what one's life priorities are. I am not a city person; never have been. It's just not for me. Can't do the crowds and chaos. Some folks thrive in it, they love the excitement. I love the excitement of Deer:30 from my deck when the 20-30 whitetails show up in the hay field across the street at home religiously around 2 hours before sundown.

Maybe stuck in CA, but not stuck in the area your living. Jeff needs move North 15-20 miles ! ! !

@Jefftowz would you consider moving out of the valley to TO, Westlake, Camarillo, etc ?
Interest rates suck but getting stabbed sucks more! Property values are extremely high in the valley, I would thnk you could find a comparable house, or possibly even an upgrade, for even money. It's an easy drive from TO into the West end of the SFV in the morning, and heading home really isn't an issue even at rush hour.
Even if you ultimately want to move out of CA, maybe an interim move just out of the SFV would suffice for the immediate future.

Mostly from Californians trying to justify why they stay to themselves and everyone else.. or admitting defeat and saying they are sick of it.
You came from California in the last 5 years,.....right? How long did you wait to start jabbing at California people - did you return the Uhaul first, or did you start posting while driving it back? 🤣

Actually, we can, but brainwashed sheep fail to grasp the concept.
In CA I was a state felon. In almost any other state I am simply a citizen who enjoys their rights to at least some degree.
Not because of anything I did, but because of what I owned that was all legally bought over the counter in other states. So there is that.
I lived in CA for 18 years last time. You can keep your weather and motocross…and be a subjugated stooge without caring.
If you are willing to surrender your anus to the fucking you get, I will defend your right to that.
It’s really your choice.
I could go on and list 50 reasons why CA is the devils hemorrhoid, but as already posted, what’s the point?
You’re happy being fucked and not knowing it, I’m happy to be free of it.

And just for the record. I STRONGLY advise you to stay right where you are and to NEVER move from CA.

Where do you live now?

I hate California’s politics and love other parts of the country but I’m stuck here because I work in the film industry. Work allows me to live temporarily in other places and I find myself saying I could live here. Then I come home and go to places like the Sierras and say I sure would miss this but I miss some of the places I traveled. I think I’m going to have to be a traveling man until I die.

It ain't just you...

After my road trip with my daughter this summer, and visiting friends that moved up to Idaho, it Really opened my eyes.

Washington and Oregon were beautiful states, but Idaho reminded me of SoCal when I was a kid. It was like I went back in time.

Been look⁹ing at a couple different areas up there. It was an eye opening trip for sure.

We get snow so ya ,all are out..

There are many ,ski areas within a two hour drive so come on up and enjoy!

So here is a question...

Ages ago, I rode my three wheeler up around Mammoth Mt, and the ski patrol guys were cool with it! (Yes, it was decades ago). It was a freaking blast.

So let's say there is snow on the ground.

Could I ride my quads on the street?

How about if I had a snowmobile?

Just putting around of course. 😊

Many do these days. I think restricted to 35 mph roads though..

I have been jabbing for several years before my move. For the record the people that were jabbing at CA prisoners were right. 😂

IDK? Nothing really shuts down when it snows. For the most part the roads are flat and cleared pretty fast. I don’t think local LEO’s would tolerate UVT/Snowmobile use of the streets? Maybe in the back country but not in the populated areas. There are plenty of areas off road to have fun though. This has been my experience in North Idaho anyways.

Makes sense.

I was thinking more about Sand Point rather than Boise. 😊

I think the quads would be allowed if they were plated. My parents are 30 minutes south of Sandpoint and quads run all over town as long as it's not on the highway. Snowmobile would likely be frowned upon.

Having owned stuff down there, and seeing the growth over the years plus the crowds and "surf" chop on the lake has me praying Needles never gets another grocery store 😂 .
