Lived in Lebanon for over a decade, at a young age, missiles landed on our roof tops without exploding in more than one occasion, My grandfather heading to work, made a wrong turn down a street where he was gunned down by Israeli soldiers. Palestine has been beat up for decades. Nobody in here will take oppression lightly, constantly, more of your land get's taken away little by little. Palestine would fight with rocks and stones to keep what they have. The fight will go on for a long time.

Happy for my family to save enough, to bring our family away from all the wars of the Middle East. I pray for all of the victims of this transgression. The only ones suffering are the citizens of those countries.

A lot of posts in here throwing a rock in a glass room, without having personal, physical, experience and simply listening to biased news from our country. EVERYBODY should have the right to defend themselves. Nobody talked about the attacks Israel has been doing on Palestine, day after day, week after week, month after month, centuries, after centuries. Killing of children and women.

I don't agree with war, however, it is extremely important to listen to all sides. I've lived it. The missiles flying over our homes and shattering our windows. At 45 years of age now, I still have the night terrors. Running violently to our neighbors house middle of the night, with nothing but your clothes on your back, to stay secure in their basement. Since ours didn't have one.

It is very easy to defend one side when it's the only thing you hear, have sympathy. Have grace, Pray that there will be a peaceful resolution where both sides can give some sacrifice.

A decent interview with Piers Morgan and Mustafe Barghouti sheds just a little bit of light from what is happening on the other side.

I'm Armenian, and my native country is currently in a war with Azerbaijan as I type this, and they have taken more of our land by our borders. Nobody talks about this, Armenia doesn't have much resources. They want to take all of it, little by little.

May God rest the souls of all of the innocent that have lost their lives to all of the atrocities.

Senior Hamas official Ali Baraka said in an October 8, 2023 interview that aired on Russia Today TV that Hamas had been secretly planning the invasion of Israel for two years. He said that Hamas notified its allies in other Palestinian factions, in Hizbullah, in Iran, in Turkey, and in Russia only after the invasion started, and he stated that any prisoner exchange deal should involve Hamas prisoners held in the United States.

Later in the interview, Baraka said that Hamas has a license from Russia to locally produce bullets for Kalashnikovs, that Russia sympathizes with Hamas, and that it is pleased with the war because it is easing American pressure on it with regard to the war in Ukraine. "In order to keep the attack secret and successful, the different factions and our allies did not know the zero hour. But after half an hour, all the Palestinian resistance factions were contacted as were our allies in Hizbullah and Iran. The Turks were also notified, and a meeting was held with them three hours later, at 9 am. We updated anyone who contacted us.

Even the Russians sent a message and enquired, and they were updated about the situation and about the goals of the war." "Our allies are those that support us with weapons and money. First and foremost it is Iran that is giving us money and weapons. There is also Hizbullah, and the Arab and Islamic people who are standing by us. There are countries that support us politically. Even Russia sympathizes with us. Even the Russians sent us messages yesterday morning. They sympathize with us. Russia is happy that America is getting embroiled in Palestine. It alleviates the pressure on the Russians in Ukraine. One war eases the pressure in another war. So we are not alone on the battlefield."

I have been following the conflict with Armenia/Azerbaijan a bit, primarily because of my interest in the Armenian Genocide, another event that no one wants to talk about. I spent a whole week on genocide when I taught World History at the high school level and a day or two on the Armenians. We looked at the UN definition of genocide, recent denial, and at NYTimes news articles (hard copy) from 1915. Then, I gave them several options of genocide examples (Darfur, Rwanda, Native American, Bosnia, Cambodia, etc) to research one on their own (excluding the Holocaust), or they could come up with one independently if they checked with me first.

The current situation there must be heartbreaking for you.

I don't want to divert this thread away from the travesty happening in the Middle East, but I am humbly well versed in Geopolitical issues happening with the Middle East as well as Armenia. Thank you for educating the young about Armenia, it's a beautiful country I have visited. First Nation to recognize Christianity. It is an absolute heart break what is happening there now.

Palestine and Israel have lost over 3000 innocent people, over 8000 wounded and dozens of buildings destroyed, No food, no water, no electricity to over 2 million families. Just a travesty. I pray that this ends quickly.

I'm far from an expert and am learning more about the Middle East with each day. From what I've read, Hamas rulers were "Elected" and put into power back in the early 2000's by a very slim margin....something like 52-57%. If that's truly the case, I would say that "Election" involving Hamas leaders was much like our sham of an election where Pedo-Biden was PLACED in the White House. Maybe that was the comparison the other member was trying to make with their post??

I appreciate all the information that has been posted and shared in this thread and other threads on RDP. I'm just trying to absorb as much information as possible by those willing to share. 👍

While I would literally put nothing past the Muslims.. my distrust in the media is also on that level.

Killing forty babies and beheading them is such a pr nightmare for them I’m not sure they’d do it.. because that’s enough to activate western societies to move on it from shock value alone.

Or maybe that’s why that commander said that? Who knows..
When i read that Biden said he saw the pictures my first thought was “don’t trust him”. Sad that you can’t believe a thing the man says.

Call me a bit weird, but calling for genocide against an entire group based on the actions of their leaders or their military seems to make the call for vengeance no better than the initial actions.

Most will gleefully cheer it on...because the fight is not here, yet. We have a leader in office, and others in military, that are actively trying to start a war with another nuclear power. If those people feel the same, the wholesale slaughter of everyone here due to leadership, it will be beyond bad.

The fighting there has been a constant since the crusades. They still haven't sorted in out. Maybe this time...but I doubt it.

If any one of these third world idiots decided to launch one of their sub par nukes against a US target, it wouldn't be World War III it would be World War fuck themselves.

First of all, that shit would be shot out of the sky before it got anywhere near this continent.

Then it would take exactly one nuclear sub from one CSG to throw out 10% of its payload, and whatever country decided to fuck around would have indeed FAAFO themselves.

The amount of Firepower that the United States carries underneath the water is simply incredible. And that's just the subs, not to mention the cruisers or destroyers. Or the air wings. Or.......

Maybe you didn't read anything I wrote above of how the Middle East is full of wars and atrocity, or maybe seeing 4 bullet holes at the hospital through my grandpas body was missed. Did you want me to tell you more personal stories to help you understand what happens? How about the time when my father had to lie at a Muslim military checkpoint and when the soldier asked what religion we were, my dad lied and said we were Muslims. He had a feeling something was happening. We watched 11 Christians get massacred execution style. Standing right next to each other.

If that makes me a propagandist or an asshole. I'll take it. If only you can take away the memories of my past., so I don't have to keep reliving them.

You asked for a conversation, and @Raffit78 responded to open a dialog. Do you want to yell, or do you want to be heard? It's totally fine if you want to yell; just don't ask for a conversation if you don't want one. I appreciate that a person would share a personal story with a bunch of strangers on a message board.

Not sure what you are trying to say, or what you typed.

But, where do you get your real world experience from? The news? Or have you actually "lived" any of it?

I understand you're emotional. Horrific things are happening over there, and the media ensures you have an emotional response. I'm not saying an emotional response isn't appropriate, but it is difficult to be rational when we are emotional. The media and politicians want us emotional so that we don't think and ask questions. I'm to the point that I have no idea what is propaganda anymore. I assume it is all propaganda unless I am certain it is not. I'm a cynic. I question everything. With technology today, I can't trust photos, or even videos of people speaking. Personally, I enjoy hearing different perspectives (especially first-person accounts) on things so that I can gain knowledge, so I value Raffit78's posts, especially since I have not traveled out of the country much. My perspective on geopolitical events is very limited other than what our American media feeds to us, so I value the views of others who have spent time in other countries. You can choose to agree with Raffit78 or not, but there is no need to attack him, especially behind the safety of a computer screen.

One of the reasons our nation is so terribly divided right now is because we refuse to have an open dialogue with people. We refuse to listen to their point of view. We come up with short, rude, emotional responses in an attempt to shut people down so we don't have to go through the effort of a rational discussion. I am for open dialogue.

The term "third world sub par nukes" would be comical...If that were the only thing to fear. The "threat" to American people, in this regard, is not the 3rd world countries, it is the countries that support them. Being arrogant going into a fight is not the best tactic. For instance, have you noticed there is no more talk of the missile defense systems in Ukraine? (Aside from them asking for more) That is because the videos, on Ukrainian social media, showed them being blown up. The weapons used to do this are essentially high speed cruise missiles. The Pentagon has even now released a statement that we have no defense against these...they are also nuclear capable.

Turkey is backing Hamas. Turkey is a NATO member. Of course, they were brought into NATO so we could keep nukes there. Not exactly a trusted ally.

Syria is backed by Russia, and is backing Hamas. The US has two small bases in Syria. As a soldier, I don't think I'd be too comfortable there right now.

The future implications of the current situation are more dire than a few hundred militants in a bombed out city. There are those that only wish to highlight certain aspects or certain things. One may ask, why was there no media coverage here in the US about Armenia's current battles? Why did they not show the pictures of the dead Christian children there? Why did they not show the removal of crosses from hillsides, or the refugees walking miles?

Why must the narrative be controlled? It's like certain wars are worth fighting, and certain people should die, but who's making the decisions, and why should they be trusted?
