I agree! If I had solar and didn’t have to drive to San Diego and back once a week I would have considered electric. But my 3l diesel 1500 truck that drives itself and gets 26-30mpg gets the job done and it will go 600 miles on a tank.

Company truck….lol
Didn’t lock your tailgate? Thats a write up lol!

I got rear ended in my company truck and they never replaced the tailgate. A few months later my truck was transferred to someone else and they got the tailgate stollen. I bet that tweaker was pissed when he saw it in the daylight lol.

Been here 62 years, I've seen other states and spent time in some. But following Dave across the country to LOTO do you guys really believe the rest of the country is any better???

I live on N. OC. I generally I don't agree with my politicians but I can normally park my shit without the fear of it leaving my possession.

That sounded like the shadiest trip I've ever heard. Are we being trolled??

Earlier in the week it was hot as balls in Lancaster, now we’re in a cooling trend, it’s been down a few degrees from 100, yesterday it was 96, a welcome change. It’s even better since my construction trailer now has power and I can run the A/C.

LOL, are you seriously judging the entire rest of the country by the I-40 corridor in New Mexico? Yep. It's definitely proof the rest of the country sux as bad as CA. 😂

Went to Venice Beach today. Walked the boardwalk and it’s the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Probably because it’s an election year so it will go to shit again probably soon thereafter. Hopefully not. It was a nice day. Some cars on display.

You're ahead of the curve...most do it when they retire. CA retirement funds are what built all the high end homes around here!

I don’t get one of those fat CA state retirements when I retire. So I took steps to make sure I’m not paying for someone else to retire young and rich, while I keep working to pay for it. But I still have two homes in SoCal.

I'll work till I die, but it's a pretty good life. Left Cali and all I ever knew in 2012...second best decision I've made, first being who I married.

I dunno mate. those kind of ocean boats seem like they would be much more fun in Miami or some place where the water is turquoise and warm. not so much SoCal, where it's cold and windy and rough. I must say that I do see way more of those types of boats in SoFla, than SoCal. which should surprise no-one.

Maybe. I’ve never been to FL. I think I’d be OK going for a cruise at 74 and sunny in late Oct and not dealing with hurricanes, but that’s just me.

I was at the Sheraton harbor island all day today, well until 3;30pm. It was cool, windy and cloudy. sun just began to peek out at about 2;30. just. and only in some areas. it was still mostly cloudy. socal is the land of outdoor gas heaters and clear glass wind breaks on ocean facing balconies. windbreakers and sweaters when you are near the water. it's ok. but let's not pretend it's tropical. what did I do at 330pm... I flew a plane from San Diego to Honolulu. where it actually is tropical. it was full. every seat. not surprised. sometimes people need a break and want something warm and balmy near the water.

look mate, SoCal has plenty going for it. it's a great place for dry land activities like motocross and skateboarding. but warm water and balmy tropical climate is most definitely NOT one of them. which is why SoCal people flock to Hawai'i. and to be honest, why we also flock to the warm waters of the desert lakes and river to do our boating. it's certainly why I do.

sorry for the late night posting...I'm on my layover in... you guessed it ...Hawai'i.

SoCal isn't usually cold, windy, and cloudy. Yesterday was a weird day. It was 80 and sunny all weekend.

I have a friend and money isn't an issue. He had a beautiful place in socal and another beautiful one at the river. He sold the river house and SoCal house and bought $25 million dollar place in corona del mar on the water with a dock. Has a sport fisher and his kids surf almost eveyday.

They don't miss the river.
To each their own.

Friend of mine moved to Florida recently. He was in San Clemente before likes the beach as do his kids. Just wanted out of ca and gave Florida a try.

So far they love it. Bought a cabin cruiser and they head out offshore to boat and float. The last hurricane went north of them.

Goes to California one time just happens to be a cloudy windy day at the beach. Goes back home to Minnesota forms band called the cloudy California boys write song about how miserable the beaches of California are. Nobody ever comes to California again the end.

lol Hawaii is kind of wack to be honest. I would take tronconnes over Hawaii any day. There’s a ton more places to go and check out. My mom worked in Hawaii so we’ve been plenty. Waikiki is just like downtown La 😂😂 I wouldn’t be bragging about Honolulu

And yes Monday was cloudy and in the 60s. It happens from time to time. We may even get rain on Saturday!
