Was a good round but a little slower than I like.

Got first eagle ever on 12 w a 50 yard pitch shot! Almost did it again on the 18th, 35 yard pitch that hit the pin! finished with an 82.

Question, what are you guys swinging for a driver? Been out looking and dont want to buy the wrong one, damn things 400 to 550 bucks!

I got drunk and sold my driver at emerald canyon in Parker during a round last spring. Irons only from then on and my handicap has dropped significantly.
I’ve “retired” quite a few clubs over the years. Went through a period where i left the price tags on them so they knew they could go back anytime. Threw an old Taylor Made bubble driver over a fence at Industry.. (didn’t get that back). Tossed one into a a beehive at Oak Valley. That sucked but was entertaining for everyone else. Love and hate the game..

If anyone ever wants to get out on the westside of PHX, let me know. Working a lot lately, but have time during the week on occasion after I drop my kiddo off at school at 8 and before I pick him up at 1430.

Anyone else playing One length clubs? I went all in on Cobra this year, playing the OL Radspeeds, and I dig em.

Anyone else a gear head?

Also, anyone else a member over at thehackersparadise?

I played LaCosta in Encinitas yesterday. If I had to guess probably high 80’s. Didn’t keep score this round. The group I play with are lights out golfers and I’m horrible compared to them.

Played Strawberry Fields a couple weeks ago and that was a fun course.
Strawberry Hills... too damn narrow for this wild thing. Do enjoy the driving range with coctails though.

Played Saturday. This was at Green River in Corona. Freaking hot out. I think this was the fourth hole. 186 yard par 3. Nearly holed it off the tee!

Shot 42 on the front nine, but got a little sloppy on the back nine after too many Bloody Mary drinks and no food.. Fun day with friends.

Mostly Bogie golf, besides this one birdie. A couple doubles too. I was getting heat exhaustion by the end of the day. Started about 9:15, didn't finish until 3:30, but that did include a hot dog stop at the turn.

You actually try fixing your swing?😄
Lol, my swing path is determined by my back. It tells me if I'll be a little right or waaay right.
Try is the key word. As long as my back cooperates i like going to the range. Medium bucket of balls and a couple beers. Not a bad way to spend a quiet afternoon

Fees are like $575 a round? We visited but I didn't get to play. I bought a hat though. LOL

We watched a foursome tee off. Two of them shanked off to the right. Made me feel better. LMAO!!

I would say more common than not especially at Pebble. We stayed on the 18th fairway for our 20th anniversary. Crazy how many balls were hit towards the room. WAY right of the fairway

Just ordered King Cobra Snakebite wedges in 52 and 56, plus a CPO Mav Max 5w with Riptide 5.5 to match my Heavenwood. This COVID bonus money ain’t gonna spend itself. Any other gear heads in here? Lol.

Played them back to back days in December 70s both days caddies said we got the two days out of the year like that. I’d NEVER pay to play either course but work makes me go every once in a while.

Anyone on the westside, AZ, Great Eagle has a deal on a yearly range pass. Normally 500, now, 140 with tax. Not the best range, a little sandy when busy- but a solid deal.

I’m playing Trump National next month in Palos Verdes. Has anyone played there yet?
Really awesome course...somewhat narrow but very playable. It's really a fun and well designed course considering the layout. Enjoy!

I had to re-read that. I at first saw that you shot in the 70's both days. Damn, that's some good playing! Then I came to understand that the weather was nice and the TEMPERATURE was in the 70's both days. LOL

Played Desert Willow Mountain Course last Friday & Saturday and the weekend before. T-time was 2:55 checked in at 2:10 starter said it was wide open if I wanted to go now. No warm-up just a few practice swings and I was gone. Sooooooo, played 36 holes, 2 balls a hole I didn't catch the foursome till about the 14th hole. Make a u-turn, ride out to about the 150-yard mark on the 13th hole I just played, finish that hole, now the group in front are now walking off the green on the next hole. Kept doing that until I finished. Green fees $25.00 on both days. First T

How would you score this?
3 off the Tee(2 lost balls)
3 more to get on green
3 putt.

That would go down as “BD”

Aka a bag of dicks aka double par
Lol, yeah. I count 11 but I knew the moment we drove away from the Tee this fugger was no way in hell gonna give himself a double digit score. He considers himself "too good" to score something that high(yes he's a liberal type).
It is pissing off the other 2 players too. We may be seeking a new 4th if he keeps it up.😁

11??

But there is a new rule for amateur. OB off the tee, you drop in the fairway around the distance in went out you would be hitting 4 from that spot.

His ego got to him. I told him to drop in-line with where it went out and take a stroke. He insisted on stroke&distance. So he confirmed 5 as we drove off teebox.
Not the first time he's done it. Lol, sometimes he "corrects" a score 3 holes later🤣

Water down a ducks back for me but it's slowly grating at the group.

🤣Next hole please...lmao
And damn it, where's the beer cart?😄
Exactly.
If there’s no money on the line it would have been in my pocket faster. A 3 putt after a couple OB could have led to flying clubs in my younger days.

Lol got it. I haven't used that rule yet either just feels wrong to me lol.

Most of the people I play with are not much of a competition so I try to keep it easy for them. Just have fun.

The one that does kinda annoy me, 99% of the time I play by the book unless it really is just a messing around day. I'm counting all my shots, penalty strokes and then someone that is not counting their shit says oh man I almost beat you, it I got you on that hole lol.

Sure you shot a "90", except the part where you had 12 or more strokes you didn't count lol.

That’s a 11 and the new rule is junk if you ask me! I’m a 7 and can’t take a score higher than a double that’s another stupid rule! If I work my ass off and make a 8 on a par 4 I have to put down a 6. If I’m playing and earn a score that’s what I’m putting down and posting I used to be a scratch golfer and didn’t get that why by making up a score for the New Rules! I’m a 7 now and with the new scoring/rules I’ll stay that for the rest of my life. All the rules seemed to be at pace of play and cheaters something the rules will never change or effect. I can go out now and shoot 100 and still finish and be waiting on everyone in my group. I can hardly stand playing g 18 holes anymore with most people. When Covid-19 closed courses we were playing 36 holes a week since courses weren’t open to the public we had a group 4 foursomes and played Ryder cup style matches and stroke play. Most of us only play at meeting for work and that’s about it now it just way to crowded.

Well that's kinda the point, there is a few $ at stake overall, tallied up at end of round.

Snuck out for Physical Therapy this morning. I have employees who probably won't like to know I'm out golfing instead of working. But for Physical Therapy its no big deal. LOL, so I played a round of PT in Bonita.

Normally I get off to a bit of a slow start. But I parred number one. Cool, its gonna be a great round! That didn't last. Shot double on the next two holes. LOL Couldn't get a putt to drop most of the day. Wet slow greens in the morning, and suddenly dry and fast about 10:30. I could just never get the pace right.

You know when you are looking at a birdie putt, and you end up with a bogey? That was me today. Straight Bombs off the teebox, good approaches, then three putt. Just dumb.

Went 43 and 43, so it wasn't horrible, but if the putts were dropping it would have been a much better day.
