I have definitely noticed an improvement in my game. So what changed? I was playing w a buddy and he said practice tempo. 1, 2 on the back swing and 3 on the forward swing . With a slight pause at the top of the back swing. I was hitting everything w a fade and ever since I learned that tempo I have been hitting much better. I was always trying to concentrate on being the longest hitter so my swing was way too fast.

I never thought I’d like a 7 wood but it is so easy to hit, launches high and lands soft. Has become one of my favorite clubs in the bag.
Ive never hit one 🤔 I might need to try that out

How far does a 7 wood carry for you?

Thank you! I had 5” tap in par on 16 that I missed, I was so upset.
Ohhhhhhh that's rough. Been there though.

I straight struggled last couple rounds but started to find on the last 7 holes again. Hoping for a carryover.

Also getting some bad luck lol, had 2 balls burry into the edge of the bunkers, I managed to muscle one out, but into the other bunker lol.

I took the 3 wood out of my bag and put in a 5 and 7 wood. 3 wood was good off the tee, but I had a hard time elevating it off the deck and had poor results. I actually hit the 5 wood further with much better results then the 3 wood.

I finally got fitted for a nice 5 wood after never really using fairway woods because they were hand me down and nota good fit me.

I don't think I have use for a 3 wood. The 5 wood is perfect. I should try a 7 wood that may fill a good gap between my 4iron and 5 wood.

7 wood launches so high and lands so soft. Holds greens better than a long iron. Only downside is if it’s pretty windy.

Imagine shooting 20 under in 4 days. Crazy
For sure. I would like to think I have it in me to shoot even or really close to it someday but in reality that's probably never going to happen lol. It's insane how much better you have to be to go from 10 over to 0 over.

Nice!! I’ll be there Saturday
Hopefully your weekend round goes better than my last one there. 6 hour round, marshall said there was nothing he could do showing me on his screen the entire course jammed up and said it was due to jamming groups one behind another off the first tee. Ran out of beer with no drink cart coming around... haven't been back since.

What time did you tee off? I haven’t ran into that problem there but we usually tee off before 8:30

It was an 11:45 tee time I think. It was months back so hopefully not the case for you. That driver will come in handy.

That’s a great hole. That pond/pit looks deep as hell. The next tee shot is pretty cool. I’ve seen someone glance their drive off the rock into the fairway. Kinda cheating but cool.
Great fishing spot before they built the course/ during construction or so I’m told.

5, 7, and someone posted a 9 wood. 😂
What's in my bag.
Driver
5, 7, ,9, 11 woods
7, 8 Hybrids
8, 9, PW
50, 54 and 58 wedges
Ping putter
Why so many woods and utilities? I have a really bad right elbow, I can't hit anything fat or I'm headed for the parking lot. Plus when you're 70, you look for the easiest way to hit that little white ball. All of the woods are the original blue Rogue, Driver is the new Rogue. Wedges are Titleist M8's.

You sound like a man that knows his game and plays to it, and I’d bet very well.
I’ve heard of 9 woods, but wasn’t aware that an 11 wood was made, I thought that loft in wood type clubs shifted to hybrids only. Being more of a sweeper the a digger, I hit my fairway woods better then hybrids.

Did you kick us off your team? @satellitemike @BUDMAN
I have been playing in this tournament for about 20 years now. My old company pays for it and we invite either our employees or our GCs. Now that I retired it will probably be my last invite. They announced at the dinner last night next years tourney will be at Pelican Hills. 🤬🤬🤬🤬😝

I bet on average you don’t lose any yards as you end up hitting it in the sweet spot much more often. That’s been my case at least. Much more consistent for both accuracy and distance.

Headed to La Quinta this weekend. Not many courses open and ready due to overseeding it seems. Booked Silver Rock for Friday and the much cheaper Indian Palms for Saturday. Not sure what to expect for $50 including a cart. LOL Its gonna be 100* so I took the earliest times I could get.

Playing Tukwet in the morning. I've been playing like crap recently. Just pushing everything right. Spent some range time today and finally started to bring it back.

My guess by the morning I'll be pulling it left lol.

So when you’re not sure where or what type of shot is coming the best defense is to narrow your focus. Most people start “aiming for the middle” but if you actually shrink your target and pick a very specific place you want the ball to go you’ll improve your chances for success.
