Biden’s recent remarks, what storm?, everybody is happy etc etc, didn’t do much for providing confidence in the fed govt’ s response. Could his everybody’s happy remark be considered a rumor?

Maybe a setting on my apps but neither weather channel or weather bug show it.

I've seen the movie Twisters, weather manipulation is 100% legit.

Prayers to all those involved with this. We went through Beryl a few months ago and it would be a walk in the park compared to this.

I agree. Bureaucratic incompetence, even when widespread, does not constitute conspiracy. 😉

I’ll give the bureaucrats a bit of a break though, as the amount of destruction and the number of people affected would be difficult to manage under the best of circumstances. However, it would be helpful if the FEMA representatives we’ve seen in videos didn’t come across as though they were untrained volunteers.
The Untrained Volunteers of America labor Union would like to contend your last point as unfairly slandering their membership by comparing them to the Federal Govt.

The Fed Govt is made up of people who inspired the show “Are you smarter than a 5th Grader?” and not in the good way.

The hurricane is on all my apps too.

Heck…….. I can even see the positions of all the boat traffic too, in relationship to the storm?

It’s less than a month before the election. Every single forum and U.S. based Facebook groups, are just being pounded right now with conspiracy theories. My 83 year old Aunt complained earlier today about the shit show her quilting forums have turned into. It’s no secret that the foreign troll farms have been unleashed, for this last push towards the election. These foreign trolls farms spout the ridiculous……. Then those spouts are amplified by those with their own agenda or lack of critical thinking skills. I am sure you guys recognize what’s going on? You ever see conspiracy theories for other hurricanes? Do you think that the upcoming election and the uptick in “crazy” theories are related? Think about it!

I won’t waste my time…….
Hey John what happens with all the mega yachts on the intercoastal? Do they go out to sea or take there chance at the docks?

Most are moved during the hurricane season. A lot of them go north and then come back south in the late fall.

Not according to FEMA. Here’s the relevant excerpt, and the link to their website.

Rumor: FEMA is asking for cash donations and turning away volunteers.

Fact:

This is false: FEMA does not ask for or generally accept any cash donations or volunteers for disaster response. We do encourage people who want to help to volunteer with or donate cash to reputable voluntary or charitable organizations. After a disaster, cash is often the best way to help as it provides the greatest flexibility for these reputable organizations working on the ground to purchase exactly what is needed.

The video is real. It is on all our local news stations. Some of the linemen are currently being interviewed by news stations as I type this.
Got it..... There have been talks that the lineman had left for the Carolinas and that power would take longer to come back on in FL due the crews spread thin... I know my fathers place in Cape Coral was out for about 3-4 weeks from Ian.

My mother in law is in Englewood, a mile away from Lemon Bay. She's 88 and there with her relative(sister), that just had some surgery done and not easily moveable. They're in a newer 3 story condo and going to ride it out. Wife has been talking with her everyday and she says with the freeways and escape routes it would be a nightmare trying to leave. All we can do pray for her and wish her good luck.

Seeing everyone get ready to lock down, or leave, is pretty unnerving. My wife told me my friend posted on Facebook, "racing the storm". He's a long haul driver, left with a load of FEMA stuff from Springfield MO this afternoon, headed to Arcadia FL. I texted him to wish him luck. He responded "got my water wings and pool noodles, I'm good!"
Oh, forgot to mention this about my buddy, he's an Army vet with 3 tours in Iraq, runs Trump flags on his semi...and really just DGAF about what people think.

Cleetus, one of the people who was flying in the first couple days in NC, lives in Bradenton. FL. Hopefully they can get people down there after the storm.

He is one of those Russian bots that I was reporting first hand accounts from. He has offered his 40 acre yard, and his race track, for staging, etc. He said if it looks 4 or better he will get out.. But who knows. After all, having a helicopter that he fueled earlier today means he does not need to deal with this.

Just got word from my Sister & Brother in law. They are in Palm Harbor (Group A, mandatory evac) Just north of Tampa and near the coast.

They left 2 days ago and are at a friends place in Georgia. They installed all the steel shutters, turned off the water & gas and left Dodge.

They moved their boat about 2 weeks ago when Helene came through. Its up near Destin.

I’m just going with those of you in the way of this.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
My brother is about 3 miles in on the canal in Fort Meyers. And has about a 10 ft level change.
As of now. He is staying 🤷
Not looking good but.
He’s a stubborn MF’r. 🙏🤞

Here are pictures my son sent me from Asheville.

They ”took over” the Asheville Mall.

They are still working but have been told that as soon as they are finished they are heading to Florida.

Seeing this, just a massive amount of logistics to make it happen. Add to that, the man power with skills to utilize the equipment. Impressive as all hell, without the threat of another storm.

Are they running tankers to temporary fueling setups? Those trucks aren't usually setup with big OTR tanks, and with the pto's running, so is the truck. That many tucks is a lot of fuel, like a massive military operation really

I saw photos earlier (I don't remember where, or I would post here) people are "staging" at "the freedom factory", supply trucks etc.

Yes they are suppling everything including fuel. There are constant tankers and delivery trucks bringing supplies.
They have people that are turning the all the workers laundry around in 24 hours.
The men bag there laundry and pile it in a designated place with there name and company on it and it shows back up in there trailers 24 hours later.

The lineman are getting treated like royalty as well by the locals

My son told me people in the homes they are working to restore service to are bringing them home made food, treats, and even people have been leaving cases of beer on the back of their trucks while they are working.

When I was talking to him on the phone he had two pizzas in the passenger seat along with two personal sized apple pies and a case of Gatorade.

After hurricane Ida in Louisiana they were having issues with people stealing supplies off their trucks.
He said this is a totally different ”culture”.

Damn thing is looking like it is moving a little south. That is not good for us. We have 4 of us hear now and 7 more coming today. I do have to go back to my park model today. I forgot to bring the starlink in case we lose internet.

Yeah current path is the manatee/sarasota county line.
We are hunkered down at a friends condo in Lakewood Ranch. Comfortable but sucks because they shuttered up so much you can’t see outside.
We likely will go through the eye and not be able to see it.
Before I left the house I sealed all the doors up to window level with 3M 4200. Will have to cut my way back in with linoleum knives lol. Hopefully high enough at 11’ to keep the water out.
Good luck.

Which entity is responsible for these massive logistics and work assignments ?

It's so confusing. The media reports TV tell us wind speed may reach be 80-90 mph for Melbourne, Florida.

Yet multiple Hurricane / Weather app's indicate 37 mph tops. Does the media error on the side of safety or what? Or are the Hurricane / Weather apps that far off??

When Helene came through the weather app was off about 8mph.
