I've been in both and I'm telling you Florida humidity is on it's own level. I stayed in hill country and I'm sure Houston is similar to Florida.
I’ve spent considerable time in all the Gulf Coast states. Without a doubt, Louisiana is the worst, by far. The only places receiving any sea breeze are mud beaches and swamps adjacent to the Gulf.

These hurricanes keep hitting Florida, and I keep thinking to myself the math just doesn't work out for rebuilding and insurance... Seems like the majority of the coastal areas should just be a tropical vacation spot.

I'd say pay out everyone affected so they can rebuild elsewhere, then build the place out as more of a nature preserve with enough amenities for boating, beach, scuba diving etc, but have way less permanent residents. Problem with that is, the only place that's worth living in in Florida is by the water LOL

It is like a game of Russian roulette. Hurricanes and Florida are synonymous. But where Daytona, Miami, Fort Meyers, Tampa, Jacksonville. Who knows. We went though a few years with zero.

Same as red light runners, those turds do it every day you just have to hope you are not in the intersection when it happens.

Even though I hate hurricane season……… I am a life long boater. I moved here so I could boat year round. Endless Summer

Id move someplace else in America, but I have yet to find another place where the winter boating is anywhere near SoFlo.

Sure, there are times in which a bitch about owning a boat, but I realize that it took a lot of work and time to put me in the position I am currently in, so I am not really ready to throw in the towel. I’ve got a great setup.

Here is what my wife and I are talking about…….

Next August 1st, just pulling the boat out of water and putting it in storage. Leaving Florida from Aug thru Nov. This will also get us out of the Aug/Sept humidity, which is awful. We would be heading for somewhere in the Mediterranean. We are researching the possibilities now.

I have lived in Detroit, San Diego, Phoenix, Florida and TN. Hot is hot and to me it doesn't matter is it is humid hot or a dry hot. I prefer the humid hot. Shit doesn't dry out. Don't need lotion or Chapstick. In SD and Phoenix I had to carry ChapStick with me everyday.

Since moving to FL full time, what bugs me is the afternoon rain everyday, because you can't keep your car clean. Yeah the hurricanes sucks, but so did the wildfires in CA.

I’ve seen some incredible damage over the years but have never experienced any damage despite living here all my life. I don’t discount the threat but if your careful about your elevation, construction and don’t build on a barrier island, your very unlikely to ever have more than a messy yard to clean up.

I have a bunch of family in St Petersburg and they are having a real hard time. Power has been out, gasoline is hard to get, internet is not available in a lot of areas. People can't work because of no power or place flooded. Streets are unrecognizable. Lots of business' are still closed for no power. Some are open but are cash only because no internet and the list goes on. It is a lot worse then I thought.

This was a tree at my sisters house that was blocking the road for days. Still trying to get someone to cut rest of tree and fix driveway

I've been thinking about leaving Florida, mostly for Italy, but that's a Visa thing. I can stay there for 3 month increments then I have to leave. I've been in Texas for the past week and I do like it here. This ad yesterday has my wheels turning..
Where ya at in Tx?
