My buddy who does search and rescue down here was on his way to get eyes on the equipment and my house, just ran into a drunk woman walking around in the storm and asked them if they had any beer and cigarettes... Florida Woman... Lol
Florida or anywhere else 🤣

We are starting to see storm surge videos on west coast. It looks as though there is going to be a lot of flooding. Lots of west coast cities underwater.

I believe storm chasers is reporting 130+ tornados
I think you are right.

One news station reported 100 tornados. However, I just heard a different broadcast say it was 100 tornado warnings. Which sounds more correct to me.

Misinformation is no surprise. All the news stations are competing, with trying to get the most news worthy story out there.

Glad to see you are still posting……

Is it going to be better than you expected or worse?

It’s hard to say yet.

I do know your son is going to be busy. We are now up to almost 2.3 million without power. Here in Florida, linemen are considered Rocks Stars!

Tomorrow should be interesting to see. So far, I have not seen any footage of Siesta Key. I don’t think that’s a good sign.

It still won’t cross Florida for another 8 1/2 hours. It’s why the power outage numbers keep increasing. There is still a lot of path still left to go.

I thought I read that you rented a pickup and were going to pull the boat!?

Once I became outside the “cone of concern” I changed plans.

Others things that also lead to that decision. Enterprise Truck rental canceled my reservation. I also found out that my trailer was behind 4 boats already on their trailers. I would have had to move everyone of them just to get to my trailer.

Worrying is good for the soul……. Lol

Our little cookie cutter sub escaped so far without any real damage. I'm sitting on the back porch watching the wind blow. Lucky us, did not lose power. Closest Tornado was Cocoa Beach just North of Ron Jons, touched down right by a Publix and WellFargo Bank.

In Melbourne, Florida about 4 miles west of the Ocean.

I've got people in Orlando who are setting up for the Fabtech show. Talk to the lead last night, he said he was gonna be fine he ordered a few pizzas and bought a bunch of booze to hold him over a few days. I talked to him this morning at 8:30 am Florida time, his description of the storm was it was a little windy.

He is a Nevada Native, so I assume his idea of a little windy is slightly biased as Rural Northern Nevada is a little windy most days.

We've not heard from our family who was centered up in the path, but inland and prepper hoarders.

So are you going boating? 😂
How did the boat do? Hopefully no issues for you
We still have approx 20 mph winds.

It’s tempting to cruise around and inspect damage. The boat appears fine. I have not yet gone down to dock for further inspection.

The parts for my boat lift came, so I am going to try to muster up some help, to start rebuilding it.

I am definitely going boating Saturday. The predicted weather sounds to good to be true! Lol

Right now, like so many other Floridians, I am glued to the news. So many stories.

The latest news is that 3.3 million are without power.

I am still waiting to see what Siesta Key looks like, and some of the towns to the south, of it. That is where I expect the most damage.

Still waiting on the damage report to my dad place in Ft. Myers. Only concern is wind damage.

Then, I am pending an update from my team member who had to evacuate his family and they went inland to his in-laws. Most likely no power or cell service, so I hope to get an update by end of week.

Siesta looked pretty good this morning. Some trees down, but nothing major. Reported surge was a foot and a half less than Helene.
Small bridge over to Lido has some damage.

A funny hurricane story……..

My daughter, who lives in Phoenix, texted earlier today, wondering how we were doing. I realized we hadn’t spoken for a few weeks, so I responded……….. Our boat sank last night. She called 1 minute later. We all had a good laugh, because it’s the quickest response I have ever gotten from her. Lol My wife thought it was hilarious.

I took these pics from news. It’s pics of Marina Jacks in Sarasota. Overall, the marina doesn’t look to damaged.

Morning y'all, got some news that our house is just fine. Some minor damage. No trees on top of the house, boat, or cars. They didn't go inside, but my search and rescue buddy said that it didn't look like we had flooding. Maybe it was all wind and little rain, who knows. There is no power for the whole county. Parts of my neighborhood are underwater. Unfortunately we lost our across the street neighbor this morning due to health reasons. I guess the storm was the final straw. Great dude, perfect neighbor. Lived there for 35 year. ☹️

Any reports on exploding EV’s?

“The average citizen I guarantee you does not realize they have a liability in their house with the salt water flooding,” Patronis told the Miami Herald in an interview on Wednesday. He called flooded lithium-ion batteries “ticking time bombs” that could cause worse damage than the storms that damaged them.

The kids reported from Parrish. They are doing fine. Power is out and cell service is spotty. No other issues, thankfully. It looks like most of the RDP inmates came through mostly unscathed.

I drive through Parrish almost every day. Small world. Don’t you also have family in North Idaho?

When the back eye wall came through it was really strong. Lot of traffic lights dangling about 5’ of the ground. Trees down etc

Yes. Her parents (Jeff's brother and Sister-in-law) live in CDA now, but lived in Spirit Lake for many years. My parents are in Spirit Lake, just off the Cutoff Rd. Her parents will be renting a condo somewhere down near the kids Nov-Jan.

Thanks to the inmate, DOG ?, who provided the link to the multi screen live stream. Interesting to watch the eye wall come ashore. When there wasn’t sufficient drama on the video feed, the shouts and screams of those storm chaser dudes tried to make up for it. The attractive female seemed to be the most knowledgeable. The older guy they encountered wondering around, HBD ?, who they drove home, was an interesting touch.

Perhaps a VIN. Reports say Trump is providing free hotel rooms for some of those linemen.

Is FabTech still happening? We were thinking of going, but decided against due to the news of the hurricane this week.
