Ive been checking the Naples pier all day to see what the storm surge looks like and if we are gonna have more damage or not. This morning the beach was visible 50 ish yards from the stairs. Now there is no beach. Stay safe everyone.

I was watching a live cam from what looked to be a resort pool in Ft. Myers and watched as the surge came up the beach and into the pool area and covered the entire pool in just minutes. Now you can’t even tell that there is a pool there as it’s covered in feet of ocean water. Pretty wild to see it happen in real time.

CNN hoping-for and talking up a Cat 5 at landfall.
This YouTube live stream webcam channel may stay working, dunno how it’s powered.

Watching this live feed...Its amazing how stupid people are standing that close to the crashing storm waves for a photo op. Easily get pulled into the surf and that will be it.

We are on tornado watch in Broward County. We’ve been on and off, all day. We are back on now.

Currently…… Pompano

25 Sustained winds, 45 gusts.

It seems windier. The news has got too many stories of shit going down.

Thank god we have all the linemen staging. They are going to have work……. Statewide. Tornado damage is all over right now.

I’ll update more later……… right now, I going back to staring at my boat! Lol

My longtime friend posted 18 hours ago, she and her husband will leave the Tampa area in the AM. Planned on driving to Tallahassee, about 240 miles. Can’t even imagine the traffic and likely shortage of gas. I wish they’d left earlier. Have a young friend who sat out a hurricane in Port St Joe Fl, panhandle area. Said it was the stupidest thing he had ever done. Swore, never again.
She recently reported they had made it 300 miles north of Tampa. No report on traffic or gasoline.

There's a couple of low-risk tropical depressions, unlikely to gain much traction and one Hurricane, Leslie moving east into the Atlantic basin and will break up.
Here., check it out.

I'm just saying when Helene was coming in ot was mentioned to me by family that 2 more were coming. Last I checked Milton would be the first one after Helene. I also checked radar and thought no way I don't see anything out there.

There's chatter about Hurricane Nadine lining up for another punch, thanks to a misleading "Shock & Awe" heading in the Sarasota Herald Tribune, that states
"Hurricane Center Tracking 4 Systems, Including Hurricane Milton". F*cking newspapers, like the good folks of Florida need more to worry about. 🤬

It looks fricken brutal
I can only imagine what things are going to look like when the sun comes up. Bad

Milton will enter the Atlantic at approx 9am tomorrow. It’s going to be a long night for those in Central Florida. Milton is crossing the state as I type this. Approx 10 1/2 hours to go.

For all of you that complain about the snowbirds, click this and scroll down a few. 😂
Apparently, it’s the same in FL as it is in Havasu.

It’s still windy as hell. Rain comes and goes. The news is CAPTIVATING. Too much destruction to list.

The boat has been well. But of course I keep checking it every 15 minutes or so. I worry about ripping out a cleat on boat, snapping a line, or breaking a whip. I won’t feel good till around 10am tomorrow.

We are expecting our worst wind starting around 4am. This wind will be coming straight down my canal. I know, this is going to put my boat in a whole new position. Most likely it will become pinned to dock. This is fine, and I planned for this, but it still worries me.

One last thing…….. I am super fortunate. There are a whole lot of people in much worse circumstances than me. I almost feel guilty complaining, when you consider the differences in our situations, from those directly in path. It’s also a real shame for all those today that were NOT in the hurricanes path, only to have their homes destroyed by tornados.

I think there have been over 100 tornados so far today.

That is crazy. Forgive my stupidity but tornados are not a normal thing for Florida correct?

Lines look good. You are probably gonna end up with a boat full of Bull Sharks without a cover on though...😜
I took all the covers off.. However, it’s so windy right now, I am beggining to regret not removing the 4 electronics covers on my dash. I hope they are still there tomorrow.

I am also becoming worried about the white steps (side walkways) on my boatlift blowing away. I probably should have removed them in advance.

It easy to keep second guessing yourself when the wind is just HOWLING outside! Right now

I from California……… How would I know? Lol Humor

We get occasional tornados. They are not very common. I think they are reporting is a record today.

Our 11pm news is starting. This will be a major update for those monitoring the storm.

My buddy who does search and rescue down here was on his way to get eyes on the equipment and my house, just ran into a drunk woman walking around in the storm and asked them if they had any beer and cigarettes... Florida Woman... Lol

So far we're (Venice) winning the wind gust competition at 105mph
