Hammers Delta Adventure- The Hamlett Shakedown

Headed to Discovery Bay for a week with the family . The Vector(AKA-“Hamlett”) hasn’t been on the water in 5 years. A lot of headeaches and unfulfilled promises by Boat shops along the way… The day has finally come and it’s ready to use this thing.

Wish us luck! My first time at the Delta with my own boat… leaving so cal in a few.

Took it to castaic twice for maybe an hour. First real trip. Brought every tool I could get in the car . Lol

First stop… bottom of the grapevine to check the trailer. Everything is good so far!

Second stop Kettleman to sell a prop to a board member. Jack in the box for food.

If it's your first time I strongly recommend some kind of navigation system. It can be confusing as hell. Never get below 1/2 tank.

The wife is driving now. We had a long night at the Dodgers/Giants game last night. Epic game, got home at 1:15AM. I had a conference call at 6:30 AM this morning. Started to crash out a bit so we switched driving duties.

This brings back memories, as a kid, we’d pack the boat full of groceries because we had a truck with a camper…. I had to be strategic with the new interior. Hopefully I don’t tear any vinyl…

That's a great house!!! Right at the entrance to Lido Bay and very close to fast water. You're going to have a great vacation. Next Friday is the Unleashed poker run. You should look into that, a lot of DLB guys go. Look me up while you're here.

Looks like here. Great spot. Very close to fast water. The almost straight line is the fast water. The closer slough with the docs is 5mph.

Does anyone remember the A&W in Parker? It was an automatic stop for a burger and a root beer float with my dad in the 80’s heading back to so cal. It was the only thing I looked forward to going home from a river trip. I think of it every time I see an A&W…

Just outside of Tracy,Ca. It’s been an easy drive so far. I could see having a place up here over Havasu. The drive is a refreshing change of scenery.

ya. My brother in law has rented it several times. Already sour over the wake surfers right out of the no wake zone at disco harbor. I made it 100 yards before I was air borne lol

Perfect Boat for the Delta! Make sure you grab one of the maps, no joking, we laughed about it but got them and oh my, there is a lot of water out there...

I wish I brought my polish. Deck needs some love. She wants to run hard with the 28p, seems to slip a little around 3500, then hooks up and goes.

We need to clean up the idle… loads up a little bit.

If you don’t know… Orwood is where most DLB events take place or start. I don’t think I’ve ever left this place sober on a DLB run!

AKA the secret spot. Decent food for the delta. Check out Garlic Brothers for a lunch or dinner. Windmill cove for afternoon drinks but I would avoid the food unless there is a food truck or trailer.
