What has happened to Boeing over the last 25 years is the same thing that has happened in the industry I work in, large commercial construction projects. There are to many college educated people that don't know anything about how or what their employer builds that get elevated to upper management and ultimately steer the company. They silence / weed out the people that know how to build shit and provide knowledgeable feedback because they lack the spin / polish they are trained to adhere to. These people have been taught / bought in to the directed education they received and their main focus is on attaining upper status in big corporations by using the "values" they were taught. They are not able to think for themselves, make critical decisions on their own.

Not all, but a majority are not intelligent enough to adapt to input from less " educated" people than them and understand what really is an issue and how to correct it. With Boeing, layer upon multiple layers of management by these same people equal what is happening what is happening right now. Led by people that don't know how to build what they are selling to the public and shareholders. It is rampant with a lot of US companies right now.
That sums it up in a nutshell and why I got out of corporate America. Also why I think college is a joke. Pretty sad to see these dimwits who are "smarter" cuz they went to college and have NO common sense ruining businesses.

Gotta be Fake News! 😆
Sad thing is, they actually have to explain this sort of thing to their loyal viewers

Soooo, I thought Boeing actually manufactured airplanes. Looks like they farm out the fuselages and maybe other pieces as well and then just put them together, whether right or wrong, to complete airplanes. They certainly don't tell you that when you tour their facility in Washington. It's no wonder they have pieces falling out of the sky.

A Fed Ex plane was just in the news yesterday that made a landing without the nose wheel down. Of course they mentioned it was a Boeing 777.

News media is out to drive Boeing out of business. They don’t seem to care that maintenance or other issues outside of Boeings control (like engines) aren’t Boeings fault.

Liberal imbeciles are so fucking arrogant they think all jobs requiring anything less than "a college degree" are just plug and play, no experience, training or work ethic needed...

These are mostly maintenance issues. Boeing does not do maintenance. Most of these issues are airline maintenance problems. You wouldn't know that from the news.
One the media decides it wants to destroy you there is nothing you can do. The media is too powerful

i just flew a 6 hour flight on a 737 max. it was BY FAR the nicest, quietest, smoothest flying jet of the 737 series i have ever flown on.

I think it’s the 737 max-8 that has those new seats, which free up a couple inches of leg room. 😉

it was a max 8, the seats and leg room were better.........but the overall impression was a huge leap in quality of the aircraft

In my opinion what is happening at Boeing stems from two things that have happened over the last couple of decades. First is the company has always done well on the stock market and about the time Airbus started really taking market share, and profitability started to drop they introduced massive cost cutting measures is all facets of their Commercial Airplane businesses. The sourcing of the components of the planes was a direct result of that. This really kicked into high gear when they released the 787 with its "New" composite wing and fuselage structures that they were late to deliver on, which ended costing them $$$$ in fines and lost sales. If you look back over that timeframe those two areas are driving the behaviors that lead to this lack of common sense and massive financial pressures that ultimately resulted in where they are today.

A side note, I was told by someone that the max production of the 737 line at one point was 1 plane every 24 hours. Whether or not that is true I do not know but still crazy to think about.

When you’re a massive publicly traded organization like Boeing you’re a slave to the shareholders and driving margins. I think it’s a result of everything you said in addition to being a slave to analytics and to drive the stock price.

It can be a profitable short term strategy but it will inevitably catch up if you don’t have the proper safety nets built into the business plan.

Airbus was formed to counter Boeings lock on the market and is funded (NOT FREE TRADE) by the EU. When the US committed to divest from manufacturing things that matter in the mid 90's and become a "Service" industry shit went south with Boeing and a lot of other long time US manufactures like GE. Thank Bill Clinton and what ever entity that demanded this direction of US production to change (new world order was the reason at the time). I am old enough and specifically recall the US government talking about focusing on becoming a financial service country. THAT killed US manufacturing

It all still comes back to people that dont know shit about building things and put bean counting at the top of how to design and deliver products. That didn't work very well for the Big 3 automakers in the 70's and 80's (albeit Japan was totally abusing currency manipulation and using owning US debt to illegally promote their home grown industries). China has done the same thing Japan did with buying US debt / political influence since the mid 2000's, but back in the 70's through the late 90's it wasn't easily known. The internet changed all of that, you just have to look for it because the mainstream media and digital media isn't going to put that on the front page. I read about this in print while it was happening, not from spoon fed online media.

WTF is having with $BA today? Did one of the whistleblowers come out of a coma?

It appears to be bad across the market.
Hopefully the new CEO from Rockwell/Collins can make a difference. He’s a mechanical engineer that rose through the ranks.

It's going to be a while before the stock improves. The Starliner needs to come home safely and they need to announce the new mid-market airliner to replace the 737.

It now seems like Boeing has one of their main competitors making decisions on what's going to happen.
Elon's sitting back and smiling.

I feel sorry for those 2 astronauts.

we're not scared says Air Force... BTW please provide us with new technicians
Nice! The plane in the news is the 737. They have issues...so the government gives them a big contract for the E-7A. The E-7A is a 737 with extra parts. Sounds like a wise decision...or a cash infusion without being called a bail out.

Lol this is the perfect example of how fucked Boeing is.

FF to 3:00 and watch the segment about developing the seats for the astronauts 🤣 🤣 🤣

They hired this crazy eyed cat lady to spend 8 years overseeing the development of seats.
