Question is ..... wrinkle finish or glossy. ...
Keep in mind the engine view in this boat is kinda limited....The engine itself will be gloss black, as will the bellhousing...I almost think gloss black, or the chrome Ford motorsport ones would be more eye catching...
Are you going to mill or sand the ribs for contrast? I liked these MT covers wrinkled on my Spectras:thumbup:
What are those, wheel pants?
I signed up for RDP to better follow this thread. Best of luck getting this restore how you like it. I'm currently going through this with my CVX-20 and waiting on some warmer weather to finish some fiberglass work so I can vent the garage better. I just wish you lived in my area so I could talk you into shooting some sweet flake on my boat!
I have heard the same, might be something to look into,JBB.:thumbsupCool thread Byron. Lots of good info. My .02, if you pull the front cover, upgrade to an early 429 timing chain, or advance the one you have to early none smog specs. Couple of degrees of advance
Cool thread Byron. Lots of good info. My .02, if you pull the front cover, upgrade to an early 429 timing chain, or advance the one you have to early none smog specs. Couple of degrees advanced. Those motors seem to like that manifold with a 800, but I get the "I got it, Im runnin it." So do you have a garage wall full of those test blanks? That would be bitchen!
The seats. Are you copying something? The 45* pieces holding the sides to the base are no bueno, unless I'm missing something. If you are using 2" foam on the sides, you should have a 1 x 2 where the 45s are to have something to staple the upholstery to. Wanna sell one of those test blanks? I know, more trouble that its worth.
Looking good.
Foot throttle consideration?
Coming along nicely, Brian...
I am making slow progress on a wiring harness, complete with zip ties
I will lookDo you have any pics of the engine before you pulled it? I have to replumb mine and I can't find any good schematics for the cooling system.
Ready for the paint booth? :rolleyes
2 weeks!
JBB, maybe this will help you work a little faster, not a jet but an Intimidator:
Cmon Brian how about some pictures. It's been a while and us less talented individuals use you as our guide for restoring our own CVX 20's.
So how about an update?
soon...
JBB out in the swamps testing the new jet/engine setup for the Carlson. This is a typical Southern method, of breaking in a Ford motor, to be used in a Glastron.
