So...If you look here....http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/showthread.php?82532-Glastron-CVX-20

I have been tinkering with this Glastron that I bought from a guy here at work. Full of water, tree limbs, bugs, pine straw, ect, ect......In talking with the guy I bought it from, he says it has been sitting in his parents backyard, uncovered, since he put it up, due to a spongy..floor in 2004....He said the last time it was run was in 2003 or 2004....I knew the starter and carb were no good, so I had them rebuilt...enging was locked, so the plugs came out and got bead blasted, trans fluid in they cyls, and barred the engine over.l borescoped the fuel tank and was surprised to find clear gas, that smelled like gas, and not varnish, and found no rust or trash in the tank..{tank was filled to top when boat was put up} Today with the gas that was in it from 2004, it started and ran...no knocks, leaks, no water in the oil...didnt run great on 3 octane fuel...but it ran on the hose, came up to temp ect...All the guages worked, oil psi was great....At least I now have a starting point as to where this engine is, condition wise...Built Ford Tough?...

Some quality PVC water connections going on there!

And I guess that must be the new style pump that doesn't mind being ran dry.

You are WAY younger than I thought you were...

Not me..My good friends at Proboat got tired of waiting for me to turn the engine over, and did it for me....while I work on some paint issues on one of theirs...Im pretty old...and feeling it...

Running off the hose seems somewhat less than professional to me.

Get some aftermarket replacement valve springs. (new stuff) Install the new springs with 90 to 100 lbs of pressure in the closed position. Make sure that the new springs have less than 320 lbs when in the 'valve full open' position. (example: .450" lift = 300 lbs) Moisture attacks the metal of all valve springs, and what you have has many of them being 'in the open position for years'. Don't take a chance, 16 springs are cheap VS valves hitting pistons, etc. Also take the distributor apart, clean and lube, then set up the mechanical advance with lighter springs. Then do all of the 'normal rehab stuff' to get it back on the water. The Phoenix has risen !

Tension...noted...

You would expect anything less?

Bryan, are you going to make a fancy mount for that battery charger or just bungee cord it?

Bungee cord..90 pack currently on sale at Northern...:thumbsup

The new paint looks great. :p

Looks good JBB. Are you going to use a top mount starter? It's a bitch to replace one in the low location in those Glastrons.

I hated those flat paint schemes when they first came out, but they're starting to grow on me on the right cars.:thumbsup
