I have dark tint. When I was pulled over a few weeks ago it was at night,I saw the cop do a u-turn ,I was not speeding and all my equipment was in working order. When he lit me up I pulled over and lowered both front windows, turned on my interior light, and had my papers at the ready as I was approached on both sides of the car. I asked "what's the problem officer" and after a few moments of Q&A I motored on my way. This in a one light town, with three cop cars and an aggressive policy of revenue collection.:grumble::blah:;) Just lucky I guess:hmm
Well described, one light town also. I have never been written but had em whip a 90 several times. My truck to the letter of the state law is illegal, find it funny when I see what you guys in Cali are doing, I`m a lightweight.

x2!! This guy is a fucking moron.

You sir are a fuckin idiot. It's my truck, I paid for it therefore I should be able to do what I want with it. These asshole CHP guys are nothing but Hippocrates. Go to their station and check out the employee parking lot. Most of their cars have tint and no front plates.

The only reason they passed the gay front plate law was for the camera lights, which BTW have mostly been taken down. And the only reason why they don't want you to have window tint is so they can racially profile drivers.

"........I paid for it therefore I should be able to do what I want........"

Really? 55mph in a school zone? 100 mph while towing to the river? Blow thru a red light? Shit-faced drunk at the wheel?

Where is the line? Pick and choose the law that you'd like to follow then pick and choose the ones that you don't like?

Really Dennis? Really?

Tinted windows.....yeah, as long as they aren't limo dark. No front license plate.....well, alot of states get by without the need for car owners to display a front, but.....it is the law, so I guess I could say yay or nay on that one. The smoked tail lights........no freakin' way. Any body that has those should get a big fat fine! They are totally unsafe! Your brake lights are hard to see when smoked. They are very dim....especially in heavy traffic, with the sun shining on the back of your car. Sorry, but those are a pet peave, because they are UNSAFE.

My neighbor is a cop and his wife works for the department as well. their windows are black not even tinted on their cars and are always hauling ass down the street blowing through the stop sign at the end, until cops start writing themselves tickets i will forever be making them chase me:D DSIZE]

What really chaps my ass is that it was a young officer, couldn't have been older than 22 or 23. I told him that La Verne PD would never write me these bullshit ticket and that he should go back to the freeway (where he belongs) and go after all those fuckin illegals driving around with no insurance or the gravel trucks that toss rocks down the freeway all day.

Don't lump me in with your Burrito brother bottom dumps. Not ALL gravel trucks leak rock.

Because I'm not a cop pal.

Carl, you left out "parking in a handicapped space" at the local liquor/convenience store because he was afraid of some homies hanging out in the lot. :)

Real Ca state laws:
Women may not drive in a house coat.
No vehicle without a driver may exceed 60 miles per hour.
and in Blythe
You are not permitted to wear cowboy boots unless you already own at least two cows.

Just Because it is law doesn't mean it isn't BS!!

Do to the fact most are never unassuming enough to even attempt to consider any opinions that don't agree with their own, I don't usually weigh in on these types of threads. I also really don't like to point out someone's shortcomings but feel this thread is so pathetic that it requires a response. This thread epitomizes one of the major problems with this country as of late: You (Ultra Dennis) show that you are highly entitled ("it's my truck, I'll do what I want") and you have absolutely no accountability (CHP suck for writing me a ticket for something I did wrong and know is illegal).

I realize there are many others in this world that share your skewed vision but it is a bit shocking to see so many actually agree with your asinine complaint and statements on this board.

CHP is in place to specifically enforce the vehicle code. That's their job - to write tickets...To ensure the motorists on the road abide by the many traffic laws, which include mechanical violations.

Agree or dis-agree, view them as helping make the roadways safer or just helping line the coffers of the government, they are there, like it or not. I assume you know that smoked tail lights, tinted windows and no front lic. plate are illegal. Yet you believe that you need not follow those rules, as I assume there are plenty of other rules and laws you feel don't apply to you as well.

You knowingly had mechanical violations. You rolled the dice - like everyone else that purposely has mechanical violations does - But rather than man up and either fix the problem or just pay the ticket, you (like a small child) chose to blame the entity charged with enforcing these laws.

Your actions are absolutely no different than Stella Liebeck (the lady that sued Mc Donald's for millions and won; stating their coffee burned her after she spilled it on herself.

Hate the cops, love the cops...whatever. Opinions are like azzholes and theres both sides to this coin and everyone is entitled to their shitty opinion (even me). Many people hate the cops for various reasons but before you get on your soap box and start to rant about the injustices you've suffered under the oppression of the CHP, at the very least PLEASE have a Legitimate reason other than them doing their job!

Man buddy you sure did give me a headache reading this you sound like a fucking idiot relating dennis to what is wrong with this country. how is it you say its shocking that many agree with him? When there is absolutely 8 out of 10 cops that do more illegal shit then dennis, myself or lots of others. But why for some reason is that ok? I have no problem with cops doing what they want to their cars and such but don't fuck me because you have a cute badge. keep on preeching buddy about how childish we all are and give us all spankings for being so illegal and breaking the laws, you and i know its all about money with this state for all the bullshit fix it tickets. I will continue to pay some of the dumb fuck cops wages to keep the good ones out there actually serving justice to the people instead and making a difference instead of being assholes enforcing ripoff bullshit laws.

Think thats bad i was driving my camper and towing a flatbed i always stay in the right 2 lanes like i am suppose to well on the 91west were the 710 connects it adds 2 more lanes this CHP BITCH gives me about 100 ft at most then lights me up.Yup got a ticket for not being in the right 2 lanes. No way i could get over as i was trying as i did imediately but she didnt give a crap her response was i saw you out of lane and if you dont agree you can go to court. And she said iwas going 70 plus LOL my lil gas motor wont get there that fast esp with 4pm traffic.

3 months earlier i got a speeding ticket too but that was all me cant really complain about that just wish the cop wasnt so pumped out chest on that one he wrote me for the full 82mph was hoping he write for less but oh well. The funny part was he was stating(right after i signed ticket) i need a CA number on my worktruck since its a flatbed but he let it slide like i was getting a break.I told him its on there he looks down and says no it aint but get one i told him again its there he says NO IT AINT I DONT SEE IT.Once again look good cause you may be going blind he looks lower and pops back up and oh yeh your good as if the previous conversation never happened.I laughed and asked him if hes always right and walks around his friends like hes god just got a smirk from him and have a nice day.

Before this it was 11 years since i last had any citation.I drive about 80k a year too

If it makes you feel any better I just got pulled over earlier this month by a CHP for the same thing minus the Tail Lights. He said my Window Tint and No Front Plate was the only reason he pulled me over. Was respectful as I could be to the officer and still ended up with a fix it ticket.

At first I was pretty irritated that he would write the ticket since I have NOTHING on my record what so ever. But once I thought about it I realized being in his shoes I would have done the exact same thing. Just think if he doesn't write the ticket your never going to do anything about it, whether you actually do anything about it or just get it signed off is another matter in itself. The Window Tint is a huge safety issue for LEOs, I've worked with many LEOs for years and have been on numerous traffic stops and it's plane scary at night when you can't see through the tint, ensuring you roll your windows down at night if you get stopped is always a good idea.

The complaints about LEOs having tint on there personal vehicles should be looked at from both sides. What if you patrol in the town you live in, imagine pulling up to a stop light and some punk you've ticketed or arrested looks over and recognizes you and decides he wants to vandalize your car when you park next while your out doing errands. Dark window tint can help eliminate this issue to some extent. Not saying it's right that they are allowed to have dark tint, but I can see why an LEO would want to.

I don't see it as the State trying to make revenue I just see it as an LEO looking out for other LEOs and simply enforcing the law. Just my $.02

LOL, I had a big 'ol long response typed out but really...It's not even worth entering a debate with someone that basis their conclusions on assumptions, personal bias and made up statistics...carry on. :blah:

seen quite a few people get popped for windows lately usually a chp gets on fwy within 30 seconds hes up behind someone and lights them up usually newer vehicles no speeding traffic usually about 65-70 max but dark windows.they usually spot a vehicle from the side as they roll up then behind and the lights go on.

I had tinted windows once on front and honestly didnt like them they ended up darker than i wanted figured will remove soon got pulled over 2 weeks later guy was cool i told him they ended up darker and i planned to take the tint off anyways.I did about 3 days later.I could have had the ticket signed off since i have plenty of family in law enforcement but like i said tint wasnt for me.Had i not rolled the window up though it would have been a no seat belt ticket:D I was getting on fwy he was geting off he made a quick U turn i already knew what for i was already pulled over.HIs first words were you must already know why i stopped you.

Is the problem with aftermarket tint? Is factory tint ok? What does it mean to have it signed off? Sorry but I did not see the answers in the post, just want to be educated if I travel there.

So many complaints about the LEO's but the moment someones gets scared or hurt they can't get there fast enough. I for one appreciate what they do for us common folk, it takes a certain character to take on a job like this......the type of character I'd bet most whiners would not possess.

I could care less if I have to have a front plate or not. Used to in CA and now don't as I reside in AZ. I do know that if some asswipe hits my shit or my family for that matter, I hope they have a front plate to increase chances of someone getting their lp#. I used to speed and have spent many hours in stupid driving school. Decided 10 years ago or so that it was not worth it. Have been pulled over a couple times in last 5 years, no ticket. Was thankful but deserved it as I broke the law. If you don't like the laws, move to a state you agree with the laws, you want to roll the dice and lose, smile and say you gambled but lost. Don't go to Vegas if you cannot afford to come home broke!

I have one ticket sitting right here with the bail due by Dec 22, no front plate and tinted windows. Mine had it checked that I can't just fix it so I have to pay the finenad it is $399.00!

To be fair most cops son't bother you, i have always had tinted windows and the last one I had was 10 years ago.

I did read the law for CA and you can have tint on the if 70% of the light can get through. 3M has a product specific to this, but still block 99% of the UV rays and heat without being limo dark, so i will probably get that, $399 is kinda hard to swallow.

And like some on here i have two friends that are law enforcement, guess what.. tinted windows.;)

Now if you got a ticket for going 1-2 mph over the speed limit, then you can bitch, but for that shit, nope.

That's funny, I didn't get that at all from his post. I understood it as the broad sense of entitlement and the decline of our society.

What's the difference between his vehicle safety infractions and an illegal alien raping the system? Both think the laws they break are bs because they feel equally entitled.

Moral decline, I tell ya!

I'm the idiot and the moron but yet you're the one with the ticket. I'll bet a steak dinner the only reason you got that ticket was because you were acting like your typical self, a pompous arrogant buffoon. Maybe if you used some tact and respect you wouldn't have received the ticket.

What's funny about you UltraDenise is that you automatically call people names when they don't agree with your opinions. You've been doing that since wayyyy before you came onto this board. Man I miss the good old days when you were'nt on here and strictly polluted PB with your non-sense.

Also, fyi the front plate law has been in effect long before the red light cameras were even around.

Now to Gelcoater, just because you don't agree with the law doesn't mean you can ignore it. If you guys feel so strongly about it (which it appears you do) perhaps you should take action and try to get the law amended?

Get a law amended? Dude I'm too busy making money to pay taxes to these fucktards. And for the rocord, I was cool until he gave me a ticket.

This cocksucker CHP also tried to make me give him my radar out of the window so he could "see it" I told him no, that it's my property and I don't have to show him shit.

CHP Sucks :D

Finally! Where you been?:thumbsup:D

You should have told the CHiPper that the front plate was there and probably bent down and had him go look for you. Then when he bent down in front....nail your train horn. I'm sure he would have LOL'd and told you to have a nice day. :p

Now that wouldve been a great idea!:D

You can't be serious...that's the sort of argument unruly kids make when they're throwing temper tantrums.

Front plate tickets...well, we all know they're writing tickets for this "offense" so you really can't be mad when you get popped for it. That's like knowing there's a DUI checkpoint, drinking a few beers, and driving thru one anyway.

Tints and other stuff...same deal.
The state is broke, enforcement is up, and it's really no secret.

But try tinting your front ones lighter than the rears.
Has worked for me :thumbsup

Im not saying I should be able to drive around drunk, with a machine gun mounted on the roof and shoot flames out the back. I think I should be able to do what I want within reason.

That is true. I was just at Rancho Cucamonga office this week. Just about half of the personal vehicles behind the gates had tint. Young new officer could stay busy without even leaving the station. lol..

Typical law enforcement and their above the law attitude.

I guess because of the way you were acting like you are perfect. But I guess you have personal dealings with ultraDennis off the board so carry on Pal.

I hope not as we have never met. But who knows, maybe he does have a personal vendetta with me.

I really love all guys that come on the boards acting like little angels.

Really?

CC
I said do as I want (modify) not drive as I want.

Yep! My next door neighbor is an LA county sheriff and her Lexus windows are as black as the Paint on her car an she always hauls ass down the street, even when kids are at play. But its ok because she's a cop:rolleyes:

Don't lump me in with your Burrito brother bottom dumps. Not ALL gravel trucks leak rock.

Said in your best Sonny Crockett voice.

LOL! Ok your right, not all off them and thank you!:thumbsup

RD, I think we have a winner for gayest post of the week. :blah:

And to use the MCDonalds lawsuit as a comparison is retarded.

Im sorry but that is a fuckin stupid ass excuse. If your a pussy and affriad of civilians, dont be a cop.

LOL, I had a big 'ol long response typed out but really...It's not even worth entering a debate with someone that basis their conclusions on assumptions, personal bias and made up statistics...carry on. :blah:

When you're prepared to listen to facts...Let me know.

Facts?

So many complaints about the LEO's but the moment someones gets scared or hurt they can't get there fast enough. I for one appreciate what they do for us common folk, it takes a certain character to take on a job like this......the type of character I'd bet most whiners would not possess.

Not really dude. CHP re far from heros. I had some drunk asshole (he was drinking beers while driving) in a red Chevy pulling a boat with kids in his truck almost run me off the HWY40 3 times. I call CHP, they told me to pull over and wait 10 minutes so he could get away from me. That is why we pay tax dollars? Fuck em! I would call AAA for help before I called CHP. If I was in a wreck, all I need is the paramedics and the fire dept as they would actually help save my life. All CHP would do is is make me sign a ticket while on a stretcher for window tint.

Certain character? psshh. Yea someone who is happy making a crappy salary and having to work weekends and holidays. Fuck that job.

Dude, you can't even fucking spell...and the old woman who was burned by coffee that you brought up earlier? Have you ever looked into that case?

from 1982 to 1992 the company had received more than 700 reports of people burned by McDonald's coffee to varying degrees of severity, and had settled claims arising from scalding injuries for more than $500,000.[5] McDonald's quality control manager, Christopher Appleton, testified that this number of injuries was insufficient to cause the company to evaluate its practices.Liebeck v. Responsibility.

You knowingly broke the law (petty or not it's still the law, yet you come on here whining and acting the role of "victim". How about you just accept responsibility for your actions and move on. You played a game and lost.

Wow! 6 more pages overnight!? It's going to be a long winter.

I've been around and building custom cars all my life and know most codes. I don't like being pulled over for bs, so I don't push any of them. Once they have you pulled over it's time for them to look for another violation. Expired license, dui, seatbelt, etc etc..

By they way, on those "cool" tinted tail lights. When the uninsured illegal or whoever else rear ends you, guess what! IT'S YOR FAULT and you will be paying for his car and hospital bills. Your tail lights were modified and perhaps, not able to be seen clearly and that's what they go on. I don't care if you think they are still bright enough or not, your done. It's a scam that had been going on for years. That tweaker bitch will be following you around all day.

let's all finish our cup a coffee or bloody mary and read the paper. Holy cow!

Everyone has their own opinion and no one is going to change someone's mind here. I'm cool with the "you knew you were breaking the law" thing. When I've gotten tickets for the tint, I don't believe it's unfair. I do believe the cop has more important things to do with our money than write bs tickets though.

I was coming up to stop at a yellow/red light the other day. I stop, cop comes around me, turns on his lights since it's red now and goes through the intersection, then tuns off his lights and stops at the next red light. What a douche! You could see his ego eminating from the car. :thumbsdown

This thread may be 10 pages but it is stupid. ultraDennis, you have an attitude and it is more than a fix it ticket. Ranting and raving like a bi@tch about Cops and CHP. Suck it up Home Boy, pay the fine and go find something productive to do. :blah:

If you guys feel so strongly about it (which it appears you do) perhaps you should take action and try to get the law amended?

if that's the case mr. law and order explaine the fed's allowing illegal aliens to infest the US and do nothing about it. it's all just bullshit!

Havasu Rehab, you and I think alike.

How hard is it to just go by the rules, and if you get caught bending them a little, just being a man and accepting the fact that you got caught?

Suck it up dude and quit complaining.

Wait a minute would that be responsible for your actions?

That's funny, I didn't get that at all from his post. I understood it as the broad sense of entitlement and the decline of our society.

What's the difference between his vehicle safety infractions and an illegal alien raping the system? Both think the laws they break are bs because they feel equally entitled.

Moral decline, I tell ya!

:)

La Verne will ticket anyone for anything, and Claremont is just as bad, especially, for no front plates. Any violation La Verne can see or find to pull you over (especially on White Ave), they will, just to see if they can find you in violation of something more significant.

Huntington Beach is the worst I have ever dealt with. Only been pulled once in over 15 years and it was 20 minutes after I pulled into H.B. Stereo too loud! :skull After a 14 hour drive I still couldn't stop laughing at the cop. Like being 18 in my buddies mini truck all over again.

Im not saying I should be able to drive around drunk, with a machine gun mounted on the roof and shoot flames out the back. I think I should be able to do what I want within reason.

Oh, I get it. You should be able to write the laws that you wish to follow. Makes sense to me now....
