Is it just me or are they’re just way too many fucking helpless people that will spend 30 or 40 or 50 minutes sitting in line at discount tire to get free air in their tires?

I just dropped a tire off to get a repair at a discount near me and there were probably 25 cars in line for free air.

Try a different one, they are everywhere in the valley. I drive 40 minutes past 5 other locations to visit the same store in my old neighborhood that I’ve been going to for 15+years (67th and Peoria) they do a great job.

I've had the opposite experience. Needed air in my truck rear tires. Pull into a Parker gas station and had to use credit card to pay for air. Fukin compressor system don't work. I was out the $3.25 charges and still needed air.

Not sure about you guys, but getting air at a gas station is an exercise in frustration. Typically the air compressor doesn’t work, or it leaks air, or the end for the tire doesn’t have a pressure gauge anymore so now you need your own. Drive to another gas station, or two, until you get lucky.

For me, I have a compressor at home and I air my own tires. As I switch from summer to winter wheels and back, I just set air pressure when I swap. Maybe rarely I’ll pump up the rears by 5-10psi if I’m towing, then reset them.

If I’m out and about and need an air pressure adjustment, DT will do it. Never had an issue with it and I’ve never been at a DT location with a line.

I’ll add that I thought you had to buy tires at DT to use that service? If not maybe they should institute that policy to stop the freeloading?

I’ve never seen DT just use of of those fuzzy worm things shoved through the hole to patch a tire. They’ve always taken the whole tire off the wheel and patched from the inside for me. I’ve had to use them twice for that service and the patch lasted longer than the tire.

Last time I saw a shop use a plug it was a plug/patch deal. Still not a fan, but somewhat better.
