Look at how people dressed in 1955 and before vs the pajama wearing Walmart walrus we see today.
Pants on the ground ass crack ahowing morons, etc
It’s the decline of society in every way....
He said, without diverting this thread to regors dungeon.😎

I agree that nobody wants to see people dressed this way in public but the upside is, it makes it much easier to quickly identify the ones I'd rather not interact with. 👍

Summer wheels and winter wheels?

Can we see which is which? I have never heard of this before
I live in the mountains where it snows. I like running an AT tire in the winter for snow traction, and I also don’t want the chrome wheels fucked up by road salt ( outside of CA) or cinders (rock) they dump for traction in CA.

So I bought a “winter” tire, Toyo AT3, and had them mounted on black gloss wheels.

I keep my chrome wheels for summer (and outside of the snow months) with a more summer oriented highway all season Michelin LTX MS2 with a high tread wear rating.

I get more life out of both sets of tires because I’m not running either all year, and as I drive mountain roads to work every day I’m not wearing the softer AT tires out when I don’t need the winter traction.

I have a DeWalt ratchet driver and a 6-ton jack and do my own tire changes when the seasons dictate ( snow going to start or snow stopping for the year). Use a torque bar for final checks.

I can post pics but it’s a standard Denali 20” chrome wheel and a set of black GTx wheels and black lug nuts, nothing exciting.

I’m going to try a new winter tire this winter, the Nitto Nomad Grappler. I want more ice traction than the Toyos can offer, and as I don’t go off-road anymore, an on-road AT tire might work better than the off-road AT3’s.

Neighbor had two sets of tires when I was a kid. Cool old dude that was a freak about maintenance and worked at a labor camp for years. Taught all the neighbor kids how to weld, sandblast, paint and rebuild motors and transmissions in exchange for free labor on whatever personal project car or tractor he had torn apart. You could tell when you were doing good because you got promoted from the broom and getting rides to mechanical work and getting to drive. I would say he probably forgot more than I know but I don’t think he ever forgot anything he learned 😂

It’s a Midwest East coast thing. Gotta have snow tires in the winter. Now days I don’t know if it’s a thing.🍺

It’s also an Alaska thing.
Studded tires from Oct to April.
Some people just swap rubber on the same wheels, but if you have nice wheels you leave the summer tires on those and leave your studded snow tires on the stock wheels.
The exception possibly being 4wd trucks that run big tread and no studs all year.

You can tell Dave is a warm weather guy. Here in Colorado, when I was still working, my company car got snow and ice tires on every winter. Only way to drive a 2 wd car in snow conditions.

Probably my favorite tool in the garage. And I take it everywhere with me.

I’ve got a viair compressor in every vehicle we own…as well as an 80 gallon and a little hot dog compressor at home.

How anyone can go through life without at least 2 compressors baffles me lol

Is it just me or are they’re just way too many fucking helpless people that will spend 30 or 40 or 50 minutes sitting in line at discount tire to get free air in their tires?

I just dropped a tire off to get a repair at a discount near me and there were probably 25 cars in line for free air.
I honestly feel like it’s not that it’s free it’s that they don’t know how to put air in a tire. It amazes me the people who don’t know how to do the easy tasks now days.

I’ve got these Viair 400C dual compressors mounted under my truck along with a 3 gallon Kleinn slimline air tank, triple air horns and a Viair air relocation kit for filling tires.

Fuck Discount Tire, place is THE worst to get anything done. Id rather give my business to a local mom and pop. And that free air line makes everything a shit show nearby those stores. Even if you make an appt, plan to spend HOURS.

Im half tempted to drive to @RiverDave s tire place in havasu for whenever I need anything in future.

I've bought every set of tires from Discount for 20 years, been nothing but happy with the service and price. And they are nation wide so if I need a warranty issue on vacation all I have to do is go to the nearest store. I make an appointment at a store closest to my house, drop off the car and my wife picks me up and come back in a couple of hours and it is done.

I also only get my tires from discount, not really sure why free air is an issue for anyone.
