Is it just me or are they’re just way too many fucking helpless people that will spend 30 or 40 or 50 minutes sitting in line at discount tire to get free air in their tires?

I just dropped a tire off to get a repair at a discount near me and there were probably 25 cars in line for free air.

In CA gas stations legally have to give you free air if you buy fuel.

No. They’re, most likely, helpless and hapless liberals.

Or they are 72 year old ladies that like to be on top of their tire pressure because they had a blow out years ago that cause a bad accident....like my mom...who I dont expect to be doing it herself and I am not always around to do it for her...

RDP'rs get worked up for the most random stuff....lol

Then let them sit in line. They would only be some where else causing trouble. Keep them occupied in the free air line. Cheap pricks.

Fuck Discount Tire, place is THE worst to get anything done. Id rather give my business to a local mom and pop. And that free air line makes everything a shit show nearby those stores. Even if you make an appt, plan to spend HOURS.

Im half tempted to drive to @RiverDave s tire place in havasu for whenever I need anything in future.

None of these people own an air compressor?
No. They’re, most likely, helpless and hapless liberals.
Where would they keep that now since everybody is converting their garages to living spaces and adding ADU's? in 15 to 20 years, the power shift to blue collar workers is going to be massive. Nobody will have the capability to fix any of their own stuff anymore.

I saw them as I drove by in disbelief. They’re mainly Gen X and Gen Y losers. This is in central Phoenix which is like downtown San Francisco.

Yes, except I can’t pull into or out of any parking spots because they wrap around the entire building and parking lot twice blocking everything including the driveways in and out. I should have taken a photo.

Negative. They wear the checkered vans slip ons too because they’re incapable of tying their own shoes. If you vote in person, you’ll see them, especially in an urban environment.

My son worked at DT, but in the online department. He saw a need so he started a Moble tire company. He will come to your home or work and replace tires. Sure he is a little bit higher on price but the convenience is priceless. Most of his work comes from word of mouth after people realize they don’t have to sit and waste time at DT. It saves a lot of time with trailers, you’re not trying to pull your trailer around parking lots or taking the tires off and taking them to get replaced.

My daughter-in-law's boss (mid 30's guy) had to hire someone to help him hang pictures on his wall.

Costco gas lines are a joke. Amazing people actually will wait 40 cars deep to get gas. Lots of free time I guess. That just blows my mind. Reminds me when a new Chick-fil-A opens and they give out a free sandwich and 200 people are in line 🤦‍♂️

Lol that USED to be my wife...she would sit in costco gas lines for ever because it was 15 cents cheaper than the arco in the same parking lot...once I showed her the math, on her little honda civic commuter, even if the tank was almost completely empty, she was saving like $2....she finally realized that her time was worth more than that...lol

Like I said, not everyone wants to. It's certainly nothing to get all worked up about, sheesh.

Grads logic...😂
.
Me & my wife are awake pretty early so we usually hit Costco gas at 5:30-6am, otherwise it's elsewhere if the need is more urgent.

None. Don’t blame me, @SJP touched on our imbecile society yesterday. He got me worked up!
It isn’t just the imbeciles.
It’s also the lowering of expectations and a decline in morals, as well as a decline in customer service on most all fronts.
The decline of society.

40 years ago this wouldn’t even be a conversation and Badchoices mom could roll into any full service gas station and get her windshield cleaned right after the tire check and oil check.

Now all gas stations are crap food mini Mart where people poison their slovenly selves with HO HO’s , a microwave burrito and wash it down with a 125 oz Coke. While outside several vagrants stand around asking you for money.

Look at how people dressed in 1955 and before vs the pajama wearing Walmart walrus we see today.
Pants on the ground ass crack ahowing morons, etc
It’s the decline of society in every way....

Do I have this correct?

Someone that can’t do something themselves is complaining about other people that can’t do something themselves getting in his way?

Who is hapless and helpless here?
Plugging a tire is a little tougher than filling it up. Am I wrong?

Yup. Or use an impact with no torque stick and crank your lugnuts down so much that you have no way to humanly remove them next go around

Try a different one, they are everywhere in the valley. I drive 40 minutes past 5 other locations to visit the same store in my old neighborhood that I’ve been going to for 15+years (67th and Peoria) they do a great job.

I've had the opposite experience. Needed air in my truck rear tires. Pull into a Parker gas station and had to use credit card to pay for air. Fukin compressor system don't work. I was out the $3.25 charges and still needed air.

I'd rather have people sitting in line to have their tire pressures checked than causing a 10 car accident on the highway because of a blow-out from an under inflated tire.

Not sure about you guys, but getting air at a gas station is an exercise in frustration. Typically the air compressor doesn’t work, or it leaks air, or the end for the tire doesn’t have a pressure gauge anymore so now you need your own. Drive to another gas station, or two, until you get lucky.

For me, I have a compressor at home and I air my own tires. As I switch from summer to winter wheels and back, I just set air pressure when I swap. Maybe rarely I’ll pump up the rears by 5-10psi if I’m towing, then reset them.

If I’m out and about and need an air pressure adjustment, DT will do it. Never had an issue with it and I’ve never been at a DT location with a line.

I’ll add that I thought you had to buy tires at DT to use that service? If not maybe they should institute that policy to stop the freeloading?

Your mileage may vary.

One of my best friends son worked DT. When he injured his hand they put him on tire check. He did it well and made a fortune in tips. They added 3 psi for the heated up tires.

Kinda, plugging is pretty easy. Not the repair I would opt for, but the one you asked about.
I’ve never seen DT just use of of those fuzzy worm things shoved through the hole to patch a tire. They’ve always taken the whole tire off the wheel and patched from the inside for me. I’ve had to use them twice for that service and the patch lasted longer than the tire.

most tire stores in my area won't plug a tire anymore, only patch. They'll do that for free too. I always give the guy doing the work a tip or buy them beer or something. I can't understand why they take on that liability for free?

Same, but he asked about a plug.

Last time I saw a shop use a plug it was a plug/patch deal. Still not a fan, but somewhat better.
