Have any more pictures of that? Looks nice.
I don’t have many pics and I’m not sure why. Here are two others. I know we had to tweak a brake line when the tires were at a full turn because of the offset of the stock wheels. But it wasn’t too bad. The overall diameter of the tire is just above 35”.

I priced out that size. Shit they are expensive. $100 each more than 295/65/20

Depending on the tire, I saw around $50+ more for the bigger size. No such thing as a cheap tire for anything over 35" anymore.

I have 315/60/20's on my Ram. I would go up to 37" or drop to an 17/18" wheel if I had to do it again. Not enough sidewall with the 35's
Off the top of my head, a 37 with an 18 can still get a pretty high load rating for that big trailer you tow! That’s at least one benefit to what you have.

And your truck is still one of my favorites that we did!

3 things i love about truck
Size
Looks
Power

3 things i hate
Ride
Unpainted under hood
Bed liner that looks like shit already.

LakeMead boater was a pleasure to deal with, he wasted plenty of time answering all my questions on getting what I wanted, even mounted 2 different tires to see what i liked, I don't mind making a drive for this type of good service.

Do you build/mod cars or just wheels/tires/lifts?
Wheels/tires/lifts. Even with the lifts, we are pretty particular with what we will/won't do. We just happened to stumble into a relationship with CJC and started doing more Carli installs towards the end of 2020.

Sorry to threadjack @bldrinker!

Tighter than ole dicks headband!
So tight if you tap the brakes it will hit. Can’t touch the brakes until the van has cleared. Got to drag them just a touch so you don’t come in hot.
So much for my leveling kit.

Is it the door or the motor/belt

The picture may be deceiving but will the door actually close with the truck in there? It doesn't appear that it will due to the truck length but could be the photo angle.

No. That will look Like shit in my opinion and it changes the distance to the bump stop. So the over load leaf won’t start carrying weight much before the bump stop comes into play.

Only reason I want it to fit in the garage is so I can geek out in detailing and be out of the sun.

I can always take the air out of the tires lol

I don't think it would look bad. The Fords sit fairly stink bug as it is.

But you are right, it does bring that axle closer to the bumps at ride height. Wouldn't do anything to the springs or overloads though, just the bump stops.

It will look awesome.
Buy the 2wd bump stop.

If all F250s use the same bump stop, the point is moot.

I looked at the lowering blocks. The blocks have the bump stop pad built in. So I think that would change that to the proper clearance.

Still not going to do it. It’s not to much higher in the back as it is now.

It’s fine for now. Come bonus time next year I will have decisions to make.

Small towing report literally lol

Rented this little guy for our June Lake trip.

It’s probably 4,000lbs or so. Tongue weight is 700lb

Towing mostly 70-75 couple burst ups to 80 to get around some dick heads.

Got 9.3mpg. Could get 10mpg if I chilled out a bit. B43875FE-344A-43C6-BDD5-9094FE4DC3F4.jpeg

Ok guys WTF is with these brake pads? Brake dust is ridiculous!

Thinking of changing pads. Anyone done this yet?

What year is it? (not reading through the whole thread to dig up all the details) I'll see what I have available

‘22 has a whole 3,000 miles on it. Brake dust is insane.

Does it stop good?

Only complaint on my 21 Chevy 6.6 gasser is the brakes. They suck. And they squeek like crazy some days and some days no noise. No brake dust.

Stops great no squeak. But dust like I’ve never seen.
Here is a pic of the inside of the wheel. Looks horrible for only 3k miles which is almost all highway.
After a week of driving the wheel is barely black.
I should have took a picture of them before I cleaned them last night

Not sure if it true or not.... But I've been told that softer the brake pads = better stopping but makes for more break dust and faster wear .....

I have heard the same and makes perfectly good sense.
But I have never had a stoping problem on any other vehicle and they didn’t have brake dust issues.

If the wheels were t such a pain in the ass to clean I wouldnt bring it up.

Soft/Hard are terms made up and thrown around by people who don't know what they're talking about.

Abrasive friction will typically create a lot more dust than adherent friction, and more rotor wear, while typically providing a higher coefficient of friction and keeping the rotors nice and clean of rust (for you midwest/northeast folks). An adherent material will be lower dust, low rotor wear, at the expense of poor rotor cleaning action and sometimes as the expense of some performance....but with modern material, not much if any

Thanks for the insight.... I received my info from BMW as their damn brakes make a LOT of dust and rotors are replaced with pads.....when I questioned them about it...

Low dust

Good repeatable braking performance

Quiet

Easy on rotors

You can pick any 2… maybe 2 and a half.

Very abrasive pads, lower tensile strength (softer...lol) iron used for the rotors.

Wrong.

Many high temp adherent materials exist now....when they're run in their happy temp range, we actually see dimension ADDED to the rotor, in the form of a friction transfer layer. Adherent pads have low dust. Quality pads have good repeatable performance, are quiet, and adherent pads are easy on the rotors.

That is all true.

Just not all pads have those qualities as we all can attest, nor do people keep the pads in their happy temp zones all the time and you get wear, noise and dust as side effects of braking systems that are not run at their specified temps.

This happens a lot in performance cars that are not driven in anger at least occasionally.

Think I’m going with power stops. Not sure when I will have time. But probably after the first of the year.

It's time for new meats on my 2020 XLT FX4 7.3L Godzilla.

What is the general consensus here on what size I can upgrade to with stock suspension?

Thank you!
