Low oil pressure lightReally looks great, and the rigging is over the top. Nicely done. I know its been quite journey, it must feel pretty good to have it in the water. Your original thread was one of several that sent me down my personal rabbit hole.
I am going to appropriate your wiring schematic for my sled, so thanks!
What's the red LED in the steering wh
DutchOne more question: What is all the writing up under the dash all about?
Thats awesome! Seems like a lot of these old Schiada's have a story to tell, yours has travelled the world.Dutch
someone rewired it over in Europe and that was their wiring diagram
I thought it was a significant part of the ol girls history so I left there
This test set up was:Amazing and so clean! Pure artwork! Congrats. Prop/gear/Hp?
This test set up was:
43's in the box
Menkins 11.5 x 15 1" K monel shaft
1005 HP 895 Trq @ 5900 RPM 91 octane pump gas 605 CI 4500 carbs 90-92 jets
22.6% over driven 11.4 # Boost 38 tooth at crank 31 tooth @ Blower
Lil rich on the primaries, lil under propped, lil under gearedAnd how’d she run? Who built the engine?
Lil rich on the primaries, lil under propped, lil under geared
GLC (me) built / assembled the engine
QMP machined the block
Crower worked the crank and rods
Carb shop did the toilet bowls
Mooneyham did the blower
AFR did the heads
Dyno'd at Verbancic brothers
Barber welding built the SS strut / rudder / fins
Greer Rush built the v-drive and strut / fin set up
Art Carr built the transmission
GLC did all the rigging / installation
Carbs are Not boost referencedThx for the info! Are the carbs boost referenced or are the PV’s plugged. Thats alotta jet with Pv’s but you def have the cubic inches. 10/71?
I recently got a new 2 blade from Dallas thts 11-3/4 x 16.5 and it carries the nose great. Like I said above your sled is an amazing work of art. The hard lines are over the top. Great job. I look forward to seeing it in person
So NO power valves then? We wana see that Grose wheelCarbs are Not boost referenced
Went down to 90 jets on the primaries for test two and was still a little rich
Just received my Grose prop in the mail but haven't run it yet
I will drop to 89 jets for the next test session
Hoping the Grose prop carries the nose a little better with more top end speed
If not I'll up the gear
So NO power valves then? We wana see that Grose wheel
haha you mean that metric shit ton of cash that got turned into a precision piece of alloy?
Curious, how much forward did you have to move the prop? ThanksI had to move the prop forward trimming the strut & shaft for the Grose prop, but well worth it.
It's much smoother and better lift & bite than my tried & true Menkin's.

A nickel at a time is what I was taughtCurious, how much forward did you have to move the prop? Thanks
Doc Shaw said the same but added as I became dependent a dime bag was in my future.

Testing one move at timeHow do you know that it needs to move forward?
Or backward?
How do you know if you’ve gone too far?
