Swear big pharma pushes that garbage mix on the GP’s for kickbacks and the start at 6pm? WTF? Start early and sleep the night before…ya may starve but clear liquids are OK…catch my drift? Damn the medical system is screwed up.
I started at 5, couldn't start earlier as I had an appt at 4

SuPrep.

It's two 6oz. bottles and you take one the evening before and one the morning of. Be within about 30 seconds of the toilet when you drink it (does not taste bad) and I have never had any cramping, etc. After evacuating for about 2 minutes, you are good to go and can trust a fart again!
Yep that’s what I drank. Taste like a flat sprite. Then drink a few bottles of water. Sooo easy. Can’t believe people still drink that other crap. My wife just takes pills and drinks water when she does it.

Not quite sure what the entails but went through quite a bit with a loved one that had colon cancer, nothing funny about it for sure, guess why I was making a joke of testing In hopes people will get it done.
Definitely no joke, my medical journey all started because of a failed colonoscopy 2 years ago to check myself due to family history of colon cancer. This whole deal spiraled horribly these past 14 months. 1 more surgery next week, and I should be close to being close to human again.

Haha, that is for sure. Gives an entire new meaning to clamping down.
Yeah, nothing like chatting it up with the Dr and seeing yourself from the inside out with a leash hanging out of yourself.

Makes sense…put a diaper on and mix a couple shots of vodka in that shit…watch a good movie and stay close to the shitter.

All kidding aside, It will be over before ya know it. After its all done, go get an Omelet and hash browns. You will be clean as a whistle!

Best sleep you will ever have….

Think I'm gonna run to Lowe's, grab some shit for a project. This is so slow moving. I've walked to the can 3 times, I'm not done drinking the shit because if I drink anymore I'm gonna puke because I'm so full. I've had one cup in the last hour.

I'm with Kaiser so if those cost more they won't give them
I'm with BlueCross BlueShield NC and ended up removing insurance and went with GoodRX price. This was for SupRep. Doesn't always work for better pricing but did in this case.

I wouldn’t be more than a quick sprint to the toilet until midnight after drinking that stuff. 😬

This has the possibility to blow up more than the China Buffet thread…….

My damn colonoscopy is at effen noon today, been fasting since Wednesday night. I’ve thought of 10 different meals to have tonight. But sadly it’ll probably be eggs and mashed potatoes. But tomorrow is another story!

Interesting…..maybe your doc likes to forge through mud bogs. 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️
Well, I did it 98% per the instructions, I had to slow down on drinking the mix until shit started moving an hour after I started drinking it or I was going to puke it back up. That's all I did different, I still drank what I needed to last night and finished it this morning. Never had to rush to the toilet and no I'm not totally clear but close.

As stated in here there are better preps out there and this is the one they want to use.

FWIW & somewhat a VIN. I found the liquid prep far preferable to those numerous friggin’ large pills/tablets. Dr provided me with a discount coupon for those pills. But the damned things still cost me over $50, insurance paid the major portion. And it all turned to shit anyway.

@4Waters How do you feel about being tattooed?

I found out 3 years after my 1st colonoscopy that they tattoo up inside your ass where they removed polyps. Makes it easier for the doc to find that spot next time .
I don't care, if it helps to keep me from getting cancer then it's all good.

Seriously, everyone needs to go get this done, if you have Kaiser and they tell you that you have to wait till 50 that's a lie. Kaiser starts at 40 with a family history of colon cancer and 45 without a history.

Gents, Im glad to see everyone is going and getting checked. It seriously saves lives.

I had my follow up with My GI last week, he says my procedure done with the EMR at Hoag was the largest mass removed on record for his office by EMR. He says my surgeon is a miracle worker. Usually in my case it would have been full bowel removal and surgery.

I feel so lucky. Lets get the word spread still!

Ok, one more question…
I’m 57, just had my first colonoscopy and it went well, all good. Never had a Prostate exam. Wife would love to give me one but that’s another story lol. So, am I good since I got a Colonoscopy or is that checked only by the Midas Touch?

Totally different, what I don't understand is why they can't do it at the same time

Your doctor should give you a digital exam as well as a PSA blood test.

One has nothing to with other, PSA is prostate, they will give you a stool test that just check for blood in stool which could indicate issue in colon. Im 61 and my PSA went up which can be normal but gets you the greasy finger for sure.

Mine was up to just above normal in December so they scheduled a blood test in another month. That second test went down a bit and they said check back in in 6 mths. I was panicking with the first test. There is no cancer in my family that I know of. I did a lot of reading and there are a lot of day to day things that can affect your PSA readings besides Cancer and even if it is Cancer the odds are it won't impact you in your lifetime according to some studies. This article below really calmed my nerves. I have a friend that had the "minimally evasive" surgery and can't walk down the block anymore without peeing his pants and his sex life is zero......... that would be a last resort for me and good to know there is alternative thinking on this subject............

Yea, I'm barely over and also getting another check in March but plan on going to next testing step unless it goes down which I don't see happening honestly.

A prostate biopsy is no joke. You will wish you were having a colonoscopy. Make sure your doctor keeps up on the PSA yearly to trend it.
