I feel lucky as they caught it early and it had not spread , but I just found out on sept 20 and I told my dr let’s go quick and get this done , simple psa test showed elevated , dr said we can watch or do biopsy I said I’m not waiting , and here I sit in a recliner at home now , 1 night in the hospital and now watcping tv for 2 weeks on the recliner
Congrats on your all clear brother. Early detection is key!

Any guy that is not getting his PSA levels checked on a regular is risking their life!

And don't just rely upon the PSA levels, I know two folk personally that had low PSA results but a digital exam (finger up the poop-shoot) discovered a developing mass.

Just had mine checked. Says 1.1 and normal is 1.0 to 4.0. I’m 57. Never had it checked. Going in for my first Colonoscopy Monday morning. Better late than never I guess. Wife’s been at me to do it for many years

Anybody on the fence about getting a Colonoscopy just Man Up and get it done.

I had my 1st in 2014 and they found 13 Polyps. I'm 100% certain I would be dead today had I just ignored it. I now get one every 3 years like clockwork. My grandfather died of Colon Cancer when I was a young child. He was in only his early 60's. Had they had this technology 50 years ago I'm sure he would have lived a much longer life!!!

Pro tip, Schedule your Colonoscopy for like 10/11am.. That way you take your first dose the evening before and get some good rest that night. Then in the morning take your second dose when you wake up and you'll have plenty of time to empty out and head to the appointment. This avoids having to wake up in the middle of the night for the second dose. In other words, avoid early morning appointments.

I'm more pissed off that our last meeting was almost 5 freaking years ago than I am about getting scoped.

I scheduled mine Monday. That way I got Sunday to start it. Bummer is they call you a couple days before to tell you the time. You can’t pick it. They called me yesterday that I have to check in at 11 which means I have to take my second dose 6-7 hours before that. 4-5 am

Easy Peasy. Went well. Snipped a couple and going to test them. Way easier than I thought. Drank the sub prep. No bad taste. It’s like flat sprite. Just 16 oz I think. Super simple. Don’t know why people drink that other shit that I heard is nasty and a lot of it to drink.

Mine is scheduled for Jan 5th. Actually I'm getting it in both ends, I've been having acid reflux issues out of the blue since April so they are going to look around in my stomach as well at the same time.
FYI… my niece right out of HS suddenly developed Acid Reflux real bad. Never had it before. She went thru every doctor and procedure and no one could fix it. 2 years of trying. One day her friend said try my DR in Palm Springs. Come to find out she was and is allergic to Gluten. Once she changed her eating it went right away.
The symptoms of acid reflux are often seen alongside symptoms of celiac disease or gluten sensitivity

My wife has Celiac, while our house is not gluten free because it's expensive I do eat gluten free quite often and it makes no difference. So far the biggest difference is eating before 5pm, I just finished dinner before going to my son's football practice.

Good idea, Acid Reflux, destroys your esophagus.

Because that's what their doctors prescribe. I didn't have any choice.

I just got lucky I guess. My wife’s dr gave her pills to take because she couldn’t drink that stuff. She had to sign her life away she said

It's not really "Signing Your Life Away", just if you are not "Cleaned Out" the Dr. will send you home, and "Someone" is going to Pay for a Second Procedure.o_O

I think the small bottle is expensive and the gallon jug is cheap, so they give you that one, its a lot to drink but all the extra water is probably good so you don't get to dehydrated.

She said the dr said the pills are the issue. Pretty bad if you don’t drink lots of fluids.

Well, just got my results back and all were negative 👍 I shouldn’t have waited until 57 to get my first one. They snipped 3 of them. Said I need to go back in 5 years. Pretty easy so I won’t dread it like I did this time

And so far I don’t rely on high levels. Mine have been through the roof. Had MRI but not looking for a biopsy.

Have orders to draw again when I can. Who knows about medical advice these days.

Cant believe the Docs are still pushing that stuff! I’d start at 2pm…that way you wont be up all night. Good for you getting it done…best sleep you’ll ever have.

I had a concoction of 64oz of gatorade, miralax and one other over the counter pill. Does the same thing…just not as bad as that stuff. Definitely recommend an early start.

Just had my 2nd one week of Christmas. Last one was 13 yrs ago. Spilt- dose SupRep this time. The morning of dose was rough for some reason. Ended up barfing (wife was shocked as in 17 years together, I've never puked). Results were negative and no samples taken. Will do again in 10 years.

Mine is 1/30/24. Same mixture with Gas X and Ducolax.

I was prescribed this for one of my go-rounds. As much as I liked Gatorade, drinking so much in such a short period of time made me horribly sick. Haven't been able to drink it since.

SuPrep.

It's two 6oz. bottles and you take one the evening before and one the morning of. Be within about 30 seconds of the toilet when you drink it (does not taste bad) and I have never had any cramping, etc. After evacuating for about 2 minutes, you are good to go and can trust a fart again!

Rats, it does but my insurance covers it. You can ask....tell them you had a bad reaction?

My insurance doesn’t cover the full cost of the easy-to-use alternative, so I paid the up-charge the last couple of times. I’ve done it enough to appreciate the difference. Of course, maybe Kaiser doesn’t offer it at all, but I’d ask.

This one is a real easy one . I’ve been through a ton of them this one by far does a good clean and quick 2 16 oz dose job. Those 1 gallon Tub preps are the worst, silly to think those are given especially with options like Plenvu.

Swear big pharma pushes that garbage mix on the GP’s for kickbacks and the start at 6pm? WTF? Start early and sleep the night before…ya may starve but clear liquids are OK…catch my drift? Damn the medical system is screwed up.
