I have a soul and a Pedego, both are in the upper 50 pound range, you better grab them pretty good when loading into back of a truck.

These are the two Rads in beach fleet.... as for weight I think The Beast weighs in at 95 lbs dry, ha. Its a big & beefy thing not for ladies. They love the smaller Greeen Machine

Would you consider taking on some side work? I also have a Tandem Schwinn that no one rides that I was thinking of selling, I'd like to have mine converted. Let me know.
I really would like to do another one but I am three deep on restoration’s right now…

I talked with a friend of mine that helped me on the Schwinn and he said he’d be up to do it.
He has houses in both Oceanside and LHC and could do it at either one.
Shoot me a PM if you want to hook up with him.
I gotta tell you, ya won’t regret it.
They are a really cool ride.👍

K69 Freedom?
Yes.
But it’s the Hondo not the Revenge.
It now has new floors and stringers and needs the massive hook in the bottom fixed.
I’ll be rerigging it and putting a Blown Alcohol Chevy in it to run the river for the new owner.

I seriously looked at that boat when it was for sale years ago less engine. Good to see it getting fixed properly and back on the water. 👍

We have what's called Government Observers on our fishing boats, my screen saver was rolling in the wheelhouse one day and the Revenge popped up and the girl yelled OH MY GOD, that is the boat that ruined my wedding in my Moms backyard on the Delta.
After spending a couple of months at sea with her that made me very happy. :p

Looks like the Souls are the coolest looking. The rest look like I'd need a man bun, a millenial beard, a fedora,, and a Starbucks in the cupholder to ride those gay looking things.😂😂😂
Kind of agree with you but there is one more that I am considering…..

Really don’t like the looks of most of the E bikes so I decided to convert my all original 1968 Schwinn Twinn to electric.
Hid all the electrics as best I could. Of course, no one makes a conversion kit for this so I had to do some fabricating and soldering but she works great. Even figured out how to mount a pedal assist on the old school pedal cranks.
It’ll run 32 mph and works perfect to do a beach cruise from our house in Carlsbad to downtown.
Had a guy offer to trade me straight across for a brand new e tandem. Made ours look like a tinker toy!
I’ll take old school cool 😎

Whose kit did you use? Seen tons of kits on Amazon & Ebay. I'm considering going this route on my beach cruiser too.
My biggest hurdle is converting to hand brakes I think.... which leads to rewebbing the rims onto the new e-hub.

I agree, I hate the looks of mine and seeing some of the nicer looking ones coming out I'll make a move eventually.

That’s why we bought souls. I didn’t want a Russian looking E-bike. With that, the souls are more for cruising, and the others are more all terrain.

Couple pictures of what I got from Amazon.
Have a friend out in Havasu that had done a bunch of these conversations and he recommended this combination.
On the brakes, I already had the front hand brakes and the rear was a hand brake with a drum.
I wanted to keep as much of the look as possible so I fabricated a mount for a squeeze style brake.
The kit comes with the the hand brakes so it should be easy.
You can always stop by, I’m just over on Evergreen Circle off of Valley right by Oak Ave.
Come on by!

I have a 26" Cook Bros Racing Cruiser from the 80's era, original paint . . . fully sealed lower bottom bracket, cantilever brakes, brooks saddle, bullseye hubs . . . 4130 chrome moly . . . all OG . . . . I bulit my Dad a 26" 'Champion' w/ the dual down-tube and squared lower frame . . . that one has a Sturmey Archer 5 speed internal shifting rear hub . . . JP Bear Trap Billet pedals, and a 'bell' for the boardwalk . . . . I've got 2 'Basset' cruisers (yes same comapny as the exhaust headers) . . . one is a 24" and the other is a full size 26" . . . . if you ever see me on an electric bike, feel free to shoot me in the head. 😎
How do you like the 5 speed hub?

i have 2 -29 inch SE racing bikes thinking about adding gears to one of them, end goal wanting an easier grade / hill climb….

It's been great . . . the 5 speeds seem to be spread out to a good ratio.
1 is plenty low for up to moderate grades /wind etc.
2 is still 'spinny'.
3 seems like a great all around and 4 works with the wind to your back.
5 is a calf burner LOL.
The hub is compact, but a bit heavy if weight is a concern . . . but it's a real clean setup.
Never had had a problem shifting, up or down.
I built the bike for my Pops so I chose the one with a coaster brake which has worked fine.
It's been a long time since I've shopped those hubs, but if I remember correctly there was a free-wheel version available as well. (could be wrong)
I was originally gonna get the 3 speed, but I'm super glad I got the 5 speed. Way more useable.

Yeah, that's nicely done. 👍
Since mine is only a rear kickback brake it's a little more involved. Also has painted rims which is why I mention rewebbing new hubs onto my rims to mount discs.
Still weighing options.

I was checking out the new Costco in Murrieta today and they had this for $1400. Seemed well priced and if you don't like it easy return!

Big bikes, let us know how Mrs Beerrun like that size. Thinking we need 24's...
I am on the fence on the size. I am 5'5" and maybe think I should have gotten the shorter frame. To be fair this is my 1st girls frame ever and I am not used to stepping thru, old habits...

Anyone have a Specialized Vado SL?

I'm curious what "2x You" feels like compared to a full power ("4x You") bike.
