Lol

I shouldn't say that. Sounds alot like the Delta and thats OK with me.

Speaking of the delta, Dave, I don't recall seeing you and your boat on said delta any time recently. :hmm :)

True. Not my favorite.

But if you checked Shasta and Berryessa you might have seen me ;)

Way too close to another boat. There is no reason to risk other peoples lives just to act cool. Not good!

That pass was way to close for comfort...

If that scenario was slightly altered and that pontoon boat just happened to be a Sheriff's/Law Enforcement boat... Do you think the Sheriffs would have blown it off and say "it happens in Parker all the time". No way... That DCB would have been pulled over in 2 seconds.

When we are driving on the road... We all speed, roll stop signs, etc... when the cops aren't around. But that shit changes when a black & white is nearby. I don't think the DCB would have passed an LE boat like that in a million years (unless he didn't see him)!!!

Just my 2 cents.

I am the driver of the Playcraft. Here is my take...

First off every guy including the one taking the video owns a performance boat. I have been boating in Havasu AND in Parker for 10+ years and this is by far the closest I have ever been passed (I would say 3-4 feet). I love fly bys since I do the same with the DCB. But not that close obviously. So when I heard 'oh shit' I turned and was a deer in headlights. I was just making sure to continue to hold my line and hope the DCB driver knows what he is doing. The first thought was don't hit us. Once he made the pass initial reaction was a sigh of relief and as you can hear laughter from most. I had mixed emotions - that was f$cking close/idiot to that was pretty f$cking cool. But I wouldn't be here posting this if the guy was 3 more feet to his right. It was too close! Period.

same damn thing happened to me by a jerk off in a bigger boat, except I had my 5 year old daughter with me. hard to get that vision outa your head of what could of been, easy to say oh well and move on but hatred towards asshole drivers run deep and as the old saying goes- Karma's a bitch

Great point, don't do anything to any boat that you wouldn't do to the sheriff.... Period!

I don't think he saw the toon till the last second. And anybody that says that boat was only running about 30mph is higher than a rat on D-Con.

Total douche move and the next time I saw the boat/owner that fucktard would be lucky to get off with an earful...

JMHO...YMMV... Have a fucking great day

The problem is that moves like that tend to paint all DCB drivers as irresponsible Aholes (I am sure that guy doesnt give one rats ass what the rest of us think and especially a toon rollin heavy). Add to that all the drama out there during DS and free press for DCB!!! Does it make it true??? Probably not but its the 1% that screw the rest of us. I never saw the need to run up the backside of another guys ass ??? Of course unless I was racing back to the Turtle to see who was going to buy the first round of Apple Tini's ??

Interesting question- what came first, the chicken or the egg?

If "Brand X" boats seem to have a high percentage of douches driving them...

...were the owners douches before they bought "Brand X", or did they turn into douches after the bought "Brand X"?

Lol

As I understand it, the owner of the boat has already spoken to the author of the thread. Not sure what kind of understanding they came too, but I'm sure he's aware of his actions and will be more conscious of them next time.

The jealousy consumes you. Lol.

Have you considered taking a helo out on your apartment, ditching that 30 year old bucket of resin, and buying one?

So, this guy almost got douched, we got douched and another douched himself. That's 3 douches all with the same nozzle.

Pile on buddy damn do you need a match and some gas.

He is I believe a former RPM 26 Redline owner hence the constructive criticism:drink.

This DCB owner has quite a bit of boating experience and is a Tres Martin graduate!

I know who he is as well...certainly not an intentional act more an error in judgment...it is too close for comfort on this video for me:eek.

On busy weekends and during huge events my head is on a swivel and I am expecting the unexpected. I look for these types of situations to occur with so many people on the water. It is not a defense of what occurred herein but it is a common occurrence on busy weekends.

Note: The Lake Havasu Marina was packed. I haven't seen it that packed in years. The facilities at Windsor had Lot Full/packed with boat trailers all the way to the far lots.

I would rather be boating on Mondays or weekdays and have the whole place to myself:).

If this is really what took place then, the offended hopefully got it off his chest and the offender got tuned up, that that type of driving might just get him an asswhoopin in future (no need to report him to the popo), its all good.... pretty sure everyone here has a bonehead move or two in the past ????

better handled here than by the tan and green and 5mph buoys all the way up the river ???

As much as I think the "move" was pretty douchey, I really don't know if the driver is a douche. Just trying to stir the pot. I understand that mistakes happen and will continue to happen, I'm just glad that no one was injured. Slowing down would have been the prudent move. Discretion is the better part of valor.

It's interesting reading all the reply's here. People calling this guy every name in the book, like he does this for a living. It sounds like he might of just made a bad move on his part and did the wrong thing. He reached out to the original poster about it. Which I think shows some integrity.

I bet everyone on here has made a fucked up move at one point in their lives. Either in a boat, car, quad anything. I know I have. I'm not trying to defend this guy or anyone else, and I'm glad nobody was hurt and no paint was rubbed off. So everyone go out and have a great weekend! :)

STFU with your sensible reasoning, this is RDP's, your guilty first then prove your innocence.

Dave......... Just because you are desensitized by close boating does not mean that was safe and it is of my opinion nor should you make it seam like its ok to an audience of boaters.
Love ya bud
Flame away.

X2 NORD....Dave BS...I boat Parker and that was too close...if that had happened on a Parker with a 32 cat breathing down on you that would have been focked and would have likely caught up and given him a few choice words...At least Parker is small and folks know how to boat close but don't jump your wake at 10' off the stern at 1pm...

Looked like ol Clown Royal driving the toon...hope he is doing well!

Just looked at this video to see what all the fuss was about. Was it close yep Was it too close probably.

The boat was going fairly slow and everyone held their line. Not that big of a deal. In fact the passengers on the boat looked like they were having fun and laughing about the pass.

Hell what do I know having had two DCB's

I agree - I don't think the cat driver realized how quickly he was coming up on the toon until the last second - If he had a boat on his left he would have been screwed.

close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades.

if you're losing sleep over how close this is, you obviously have never driven on LA freeways.
How many people have drowned on the La Freeways?

Yep we spoke. Not sure he saw the problem. Maybe he could explain his actions to the inmates since he is a member of RDP.

You'd have to had heard the conversation and know the purpose of the call to say whether or not integrity was shown. Has anyone seen an apology or his explanation of events? Maybe it's time. I'll let him make that decision.

This guy, no matter what boat he drives, is one dumb SOB that could have killed a bunch of my friends. No DCB jokes here please. By the way, Mike - the guy driving the tooner, owns an awesome F-32 himself. If anyone knows who this reckless guy is, do me a favor and kick him in the nuts for such a dumbass move. It's boaters like that guy that ruin boating for us and cause people to be killed and our rates to skyrocket. I hope the cops and his insurance agent see this video. He should NOT be on the water!! Go get him boatpi!!!!!

He'd be missing his front teeth had he pulled that maneuver on me.
