Hot mop all day long over Kerri. I should of screen shot it. Recent thread on the tile page about how soon they are seeing the kerdi showers fail. Consensus was 8-12 years. But by then the styles changed and a new bathroom is in order.

Ive seen all different types of waterproofing fail, i feel if installed correctly there are lots of good options out there.
Earlier this year i tore out a shower that was less than 5 years old and the hot mop failed. Ive torn out a shower with the rubber liner pan that failed it was like 10 years old. Ive torn out failed redgaurd over cement board. Ive seen uncoated hardie board turn to mush from water. All of them im guessing there was some sort of installer error.
The one thing i dont like about mud pans unless they are coated with hydroban or cover them with kerdi is they are just a big sponge that holds water, some years back my inlaws had a guest shower that cracked along one wall (not a installer problem but it was along a wall where they added on to the house and the house settled some) but anyways i told them to stop using it. I was able to get to it like 4 months later and when i did there was still moisture in the mud of the pan. Its been probably 7-8 years since i redid it with schluter pan and kerdi walls and it hasnt re-cracked yet.
The shower i am doing now was floated walls and it had a crack running down a section of tile, track house built in 08-09 or so just standard white 4x4 ceramics but the floated wall cracked underneath and transferred thru the tile.
Like i said lots of good options out there but installation needs to be done correctly for it to last.

The key to hot mop is the preslope and weep holes clear. If not it will fail or start to smell.

My 2 bathrooms are in the hood. And my budget is 6k each not including my time.

I have 1 bathroom I am finishing up that will be around 45k. 2 I am doing for 22k as a package deal and doesn't include the plumbing. 2 I am at now are time and materials for a regular customer no clue on what they will cost. The wall mount faucets were $1600 and the master got diverter valves and handheld. An expensive bathroom to me is in the 60k range a cheap bathroom is 22k.

Demo started Monday. They’re moving along great. Glass goes in on Monday. The 3600 naturally didn’t include tile or glass. Glass came in at 880.00 for 1/2”. No door will be installed.

Right on target on the HM pans. Dal-Tile has been a main supplier to the Tile Industry. I used to manage a C54 warehouse/drive truck/PU/deliver.

The Pasco sheet pan material is what I'd use if he customer didn't want a hot mop pan. Preslope and proper drain setup is key. Zero failures, zero callbacks. 34 years licensed. No marks on it. Plus all the 35 years of Union production. SoCal is no picnic. Good job NicPaus.

I don't even need to see your finish to know you produce Quality Craftsmanship. But I'll bet it looks slick. Dominate!

Things you (don't want,) to hear on the job. lol. I heard something once that stuck. Production, I didn't select the tile/grout. But it was pretty hilarious when the designer dropped by a downstairs bathroom, walking in and said of the selection of the TS tile installation. "OMG! It looks like jail."

So, I'm standing there, looking at the just completed and grouted! kitchen tile instalation. "Ruh?" I zero in on the upside down decorative fat mosaic stone liner in the full height kitchen backsplash. As I start clutching my chest, The Lady of the Mansion Homewner walks in and exclaims,
"OMG!!" "It's SOO beautiful!!!" "Why yes! Yes It's sure is!" "Have a nice weekend!!"
