I guess the question is why is the earth illuminated?

Meaning if I go grab a big light and shine it in one direction, and one object is dim and one is brightly illuminated, you’re going to have questions lol.

Whatever is illuminating the earth should also be casting light on the “dark side” of the moon.

Take a piece of fine sand paper, preferably dark colored. Then set it against a bright colored backdrop and snap a picture. Either the bright colors are blown out, or the dark colors are too dark, there is no middle ground (without computer trickery via HDR composition).

I edited my first response realizing I hadn't really properly addressed your question.
Also for the record, I don't care what color, religion, gender, or if an astronaut humps blow up dolls, so long as the American tax payers are getting the most qualified for the position.
I also feels, by showcasing this racial or "Special" bullshit, it's demeaning to the person or persons selected, because now it attaches this stigma of being a token rather than the most qualified.

But to clarify the backdrop is black emptiness (what is behind earth and moon). Why does the earth reflect color and the “white” moon reflect nothing?

Put another way the moon shines brightly when the sun is under the earth shining back on the moon.

I don’t mean to be argumentative, genuinely asking because it sure seems like simple answers get very complicated lol.

My guess is that the earth has been edited in that photo?

I appreciate the clarification. But then why is the moon so bright down here on earth?

On a full moon I can walk around at night with no flashlight. But then we are saying satellite photos show a different reality.

I’m not trying to be right. Just trying to understand lol.

The man on the moon controls the brightness. Duh.

Atmosphere is reflective, the shots that are pieced together to show a CGI image of Earth come from different angles, seasons, times of weather and atmospheric events like hurricanes and volcanos erupting that alter viewpoints, color, lighting etc.

The full force of the Sun is hitting the Moon, and the Moon's surface is mostly without anything to deflect or absorb the sunlight photons unlike our Atmosphere, trees buildings, mountains etc. Also the makeup of the moon's surface is “retro-reflective." Lunar soil includes a small percentage of glass fragments — created by the heat of meteorite impacts — and those act like the tiny crystals in the reflective paint used for street signs.

So to clarify the moon also stays face forward (towards the earth) 100% of the time.

Does that mean all of the craters that we see came from “behind” the earth? From that NASA photo the “back” of the moon seems pretty clean compared to what we see.

The sky in the background isn't actually black emptiness... But if you were to keep the camera open long enough to gather the light needed to see the stars, the earth and moon would be completely white spheres.

Earth was the goal in that photo, it is easy to make the moon appear as you see it, but in doing so, the earth is over exposed and a white blob. Likewise the stars in the sky, if you adjust the camera to see the stars, everything else is a glowing blob.

Imagine your dining room table, lights off, with a candle in the middle of the table. Your eyes are able to adjust to see the artwork on the walls, or they can see the flame. If you adjust to seeing the artwork, looking at the flame is overwhelming, and if you adjust to the flame, the artwork is too dark to see... Same basic idea here, only done with a camera instead. The camera is adjusted for the flame (earth), so everything else ends up dark.

Makes sense when you lay it out like that.

But the face of the moon must have taken craters from behind the earth right? I know we have a crater in Mexico that we say killed the dinosaurs. Other than that I’m not aware of any craters that large.

Everywhere on the moon (and earth too realistically) has been pelted by meteors. They show up more on the moon as there is no atmosphere and therefore no wind to wash them away (glamis tire tracks disappear in minutes on a windy day, but stay for days when it is calm). Additionally you have lower gravity, so the craters don't settle out as quickly, allowing them to grow larger than the same impact on earth would.

Interesting way of telling everyone that you don't grasp the scale of things...

No googling, scale the earth down to the size of a Basketball, the moon ends up roughly the size of a tennis ball. How far apart should they be to keep the scale correct?

Bentprops scurried back under his troll bridge without answering... Anyone else want to take a shot? No googling!

23 feet and some change between the basketball and the tennis ball. Think about that when someone asks why you can't see the flag with their binoculars!

According to the math in this thread… 240,000 miles away divided by the 8000 mile diameter of the Earth is 30. The basketball is about 9 1/2 inches times 30 would be 285 feet? Or is that just my beer infused math?

Read up on "dynamic range", this has been the fundamental limitation of both film and digital image sensors since either of their inceptions, and only recently has been addressed through a variety of software or image stacking strategies.

Cameras as we have known them do not have the same dynamic range as the human eye

The suits are well documented (you can see Neil Armstrong's at the Smithsonian air and space on DC), and weigh roughly 100lbs. Go ahead and strap 100lbs to your ass and hop around like that. Be sure to record it, we all need a laugh

That’s because the gravity on the moon is one sixth of earth.

Ill give you that. But can you explain the Apollo videos where the astronaut gets pulled up like he’s on a cable?

Think about this number for a minute...

5,000,000,000,000

That's how many years they say the earth is old. 5 billion years.

They say the moon is 4.3 billion years old.

I'm gonna say a whole lotta different things have happened over all those years, that no one really has an explanation for.

Plenty of people wanna think they do though...

Why so “they” estimate the earth and moon at different ages?

You would think that they are the same age. Not sure how the moon could come into orbit 1,000s of the years later.

Edit. The current theory

Known as the "Big Splash" AKA Giant-Impact Hypothesis about 4.5 billion years ago when a planet about he size of Mars and Earth collided, ejecting the molten material that we now refer as the moon --- but wait, not so fast, now there's more late breaking news ---

Objects in space don't just go any direction they want, they all are subject to the gravitational forces of whatever is most massive near them.

When you consider this in it's entirety, objects orbiting the sun, then intersecting the earth's orbit around the sun, and the moons orbit around the earth...

the odds of the object passing between the earth and moon and hanging a turn into the moon are zero, the earth has more gravity.

The odds of the object going between the two and then moon just happens to be in the right place to intercept are slightly better.

The odds of the object being pulled towards the earth and moon and hitting the back of the moon are better again,

The odds of the object not hitting either and continuing it's orbit around the sun are best of all.

There are no straight lines in space flight.

He who controls the present controls the past.

All this billion of years crap is just therory, here are some facts. All comets are all less than 10,000 years old. They find blood cells in dinorar bones which means they are less than 10,000 old. The oldest desert in the world "Sahara" is 4000 years old the largest reef the "Great barrier reef" is 4000 years old. The earth is slowing down at a consistent measurable speed. If the earth was 50,000 years old it would have been spinning so fast nothing would have been able to survive. The moon is getting further away each year. 50,000 years ago the moon would have been touching the earth. How about all the man made objects they find in coal mines that are at least a mile down?

The alien agenda is very simple. Think about all the movies. Aliens are always bad and we need to join together to defeat them, You ever heard of Armageddon? Where the whole world unites to fight The one true God, the creator of all things.

All the elite know this is coming. Thats why the steal your $$ through taxes to build weapons of war to fight him. dig deep underground miltary bases to hide in. They build things like Cern to try to figure out how to stop time and open portols to other dimensions. Same thing as the Tower of Babel. Modifying his creation with 'dna editing shots'. Time is running out, and this topic is far more inportant then did we land on the moon.

Or devout Seventh Day Adventist, which is where I recall hearing these same claims. The same person would argue all day as one who takes the biblical book of Genesis timeline literally. 🤷‍♂️
