The most incredible news...the tumor is a rare type that is benign and grows very slowly. Almost all it it was removed during surgery. The neurologist says no further treatment is indicated right now.

I have to say that this news was very emotional for me. I can't imagine the range of emotions my brother and sister-in-law have gone through in the last week.

I cannot tell you all how much your support has helped me get through this. I was terrified the outcome would not be good, and it was comforting to know the community was rallyed behind us. Thank you so much.

Thats good news!
I didn’t want to hope too much, but surgery that fast, to my untrained mind, would indicate probability of being benign.
Thank god.
Take a breath, hug everyone, and DO NOT turn your back on it ever.

Been kind of scared to get back to this thread. I don't know you, @rrrr , but I can identify with the frightened feelings of being powerless. Had cancer effect my family. Wife had emergency surgery for a tumor, while pregnant with one of my boys. Have a boy that has some issues that took years to square away...And my oldest, my girl, is about Liam's age... Lots of different things, whirlwind of emotional memories and thoughts.

Not going to lie, got a bit teary-eyed, both reading about your nephew's ability and "clearance" to walk a bit, and the tumor being mostly removed and benign.
I'm really happy for him! I'm excited they're letting him walk a bit, the mental boost that gives is immense. Every step is a step forward🥳

That's good to hear, absolutely fantastic news.

I would still have them follow up with an oncologist, just to be sure. Second opinions are crucial in cancer treatments.

...You know...there is a phrase or a mindset so to speak ...called the “Common Mind”...I think the term was originated by the science fiction writer ...Robert A Heinlien???...

...The worst usage of the “common mind”was by Charles Manson...which had a lot to do with how he controlled his followers...

...Exemplifying the power of the common mind in a positive vein...is what we have just seen in this thread...
...Hang in there Liam...The Common Mind of the RDP brain trust...is with you all the way...👍

Liam went home yesterday, nine days after his brain tumor was removed. Calling it a miracle isn't an exaggeration.

Thanks again to all of you. The outpouring of support made the fear and uncertainty bearable.
